      It is best to go to a school that offer Phlebotomy certificate included as well right? I’m trying to make sure I chose the right school 🤔..what did you look for when choosing the school you went to?

      My school didn’t offer the phleb certificate but I did learn how to draw blood. I just chose the school closest to my house with a good reputation!

      Sadie Diaz that’s what I did too. I graduated with my ADN in 2018 and enrolled in my bsn 2 weeks later. I graduated from my bsn this past August. I really like that adn focuses on skills but now in days finding a job with a ADN new grad is hard. I would suggest to find a PCA job for a hospital and build connections

    I loved seeing this, I work as an MA in a GYN Clinic as well, just started in July!

      SOPHIA CARLSON I like it! It’s a private office for only one doctor. It can get hectic at times from ordering pap and labs to screening the Pt, we prep paper charts before appts AND get them ready for the next day, we offer genetic BRCA testing, ova1 so those could come at random, even spontaneous miscarriages :(
      I haven’t done incision checks but definitely have done Hpv vaccines and assisted on Endometrial Biopsies and Colposcopies.
      I hope you can continue to show us your days!

I enjoyed it very much , the staff was very welcoming and willing to teach me because that’s the reason I was going it right haha . I initially thought of working at family practice , but after the externship experience I chose to apply for Internal Medicine . I like my job , I interact with very kind patients . It is busy environment , patients arriving one after the other , MD orders vaccines , EKG , then you have the administrative part , phone calles, sorting documents for MD to review or sign , faxes , etc .

I graduated and didn't work in the medical field for 2 years straight but during those years I was still looking up MA videos reading the books that I received from school so I wont forget. And finally last week I was blessed with an MA job after so long. So my point is dont give up and keep trying if something is really your passion you will keep looking and looking.

    Great video! I'm starting my A.A.S in Medical Assisting in January. I have lots of experience in other fields (government, education, prior service military) and my bachelors degree, but starting this program is making me nervous and anxious mostly in a good way. I'm not sure how I feel about drawing blood and giving injections, though. Where can MAs work where that isn't necessarily something that is done too often? I don't know maybe I'll feel more confident after school but it just seems like it's too easy to mess up!

    • @Mayrita77
      @Mayrita77 Před 3 lety

      I'm the opposite. Looking for a place where I can give shots and draw blood. I think wherever you go don't do obgyn or family medicine because you would give vaccines and shots on a daily basis

    I'm curious for those in MA school. Do you have to cover your tattoos? Are you allowed to have colorful hair? The MA professor I have say if they see a tattoo you will be kicked out of program. They don't care if you have them but they have to be covered at all times. Just curious if it's just my school or if it's pretty much all schools.

      I'm 23 and I'm just now planning to attend the summer program to be a Medical Assistant. It's never to late to acquire an education and better yourself. Forget those nay sayers, they can mind their own business and continue to do the same thing that they're doing. While you, are trying something different and progressing yourself and in life. It's never too late to try something new. Time is something that we'll never get back. But regretting what we didn't do in that time is even worse. Go for it! 30 and all!
