As someone who went 9 months without drinking you dont wanna feel like you are standing out or when someone new comes to the table they dont ask "Why are you drinking a coffee?" and then the conversation about why you quit comes up and alcohol free beers just avoid all that for a bit.
Yes, no-one seems to understand that point. It just makes life that little bit easier if you don't have to constantly explain yourself
I did the same at one point in my life but I would have coke and pretend it was jack or rum and coke. Of course it depends on which establishments you frequent, sometimes non alcoholic beer is less conspicuous.
If you're going for a spell where you're steering clear of the booze for a bit, after a while you miss having a beer. Having something that's close enough to a good lager or IPA rather than yet another pint of lime and sodding soda can really help break up the monotony
"It'll never catch on" says the Alky who looks like he's never been out of Wales.
Meanwhile market share in Spain is now well over 10% of all beer sold.
Talk about stuck in the past! 😆
Why not put black pepper in the beer to give a spicy taste to get rid of the sweetness. Perlenbacher 0.0 is popular.
One thing I like about your videos…….is your honesty 😊
Some of the non/low alcohol beers are definitely far too sweet (Erdinger comes to mind). One of my friends switched to mainly no/low (with the occasional alcoholic beer) following on from a battle with cancer, which thankfully works for her and gets to pretty much still enjoy the taste.
If you are willing to try one more AF beer, I would personally recommend Infinite Session IPA, which although I wish there was a little more carbonation, really tastes like beer.
Beer like these go someway to elevating the problem of what do you drink at a function were you have to drive. Were I live I have friends that don’t live on a bus route, there are venues out on the moors that have no means of geeting there without driving. The price of a taxi to these places is extortionate and would pay for a good meal out for two. I don’t really want to drink coffee, Vimto isn’t the answer but this is, to a degree. As for dry January I spit on it, its moist March for me and I don’t mean the incessant winter rain we have had here over the last three years. I went to a function on the moors last January, its nearly 20 miles each way. They had non-alcholic Peroni, not as good as a beer with alcohol but it got me through the night. To be honest the best non-alcoholic drink I have found is Nozeco, I can’t tell the difference between it and the real thing. I’m not even a prosseco drinker, but I enjoyed it!
The greedy beer companies are just trying to cash in on all those who don't drink anymore. Clever move
This beer has been around for decades. It isn't a quick cash-in.
Nothing wrong or sinister about expanding your market though, as long as they keep the abv of their alcoholic beers the same.
I've actually started to enjoy non alcoholic beer since I find sodas and orange juice way too sweet and sugary. Of course I enjoy an alcoholic beer when I can but that's not always possible.
Rather have a shandy if i cant drink alcohol
Sorry to say but a Chronic alcoholic doing an NA beer review is always going to get this outcome.. 45 but look 70
You’re not even kidding. Was watching some of his really old videos. He went from looking 25 years old to 55 in 13 years lol. I’ve cut way down and have plenty of NA beer. I might have 4-8 alcoholic beers a month. That’s not going to be me
A lot of the time I see them priced higher than the normal beer.
Yes which is ridiculous considering no duty is paid on non-alcoholic beer
Hi there, can you do a review of Kostritzer Schwarzbier please. I totally love it but would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Chris
I remember when Kaliber was the only alcohol free option years ago and that was quite horrible. I don't believe Kaliber is available anymore. Alcohol free beer can be hit and miss I do quite like the alcohol free Guinness though. The dangers of these beers I should imagine is for recovering alcoholics it might push them back onto the real stuff again. Good for drivers and those taking part in those dry months or when alcohol is not appropriate. My take anyway.
05:20 for when he actually starts the review guys
Some people can’t or don’t want alcohol. It’s much better than soda or orange juice.I’ve had plenty of good ones.
Looks nice my man , i stocked up on my beer as hear were getting HOT month next week
That was the fist beer i can remeber, that was offer in Germg !
Totay it is one of the horreblel of them!
....Jever without Alkohol is acebal!
Why do a review. He knows he won’t like it.
Your disdain for non-alcoholic beer is palpable ))) Your review has a Mitchell and Webb Snooker Commentators ring to it! )))
Remember drinking clausthaler when i packed in drinking in the late 80's,also kaliber, but quickly just reverted to soft drinks, juices.have a light shandy now with mostly lemonade if i fancy a change.
Fascinating stuff, Jim.
'lead free' beer is like a porn-movie on the radio....
Because it's actually healthier, you mark
Don't see the point. Neither do I.
Till your liver packs in then you will see the point, lost my dad in 2022 through drinking everynite,i used to drink on some weekends till he died, now if i ever get the urge alcohol free Heineken comes in handy as tastes like the real alcohol
Big business will do anything to make a buck. Alcohol free beer, meatless meat, seltzer beers, milk that's not milk, sad.
