sand, dried beans, rice. anything with a bit of weight. cricket ball. Just put some padding around it lol
Precision Striking great video
Is it better to keep the bag filled with lass weight to get more speed? I just hung my bag up.
I've never commented on a video before but I have scoured the web looking for this info and this is the ONLY piece of quality maize ball instruction on the freakin' internet. This guy knows his shit.
I like using a 5 pound dumbell,, gives me more respect for slipping
lmao
😂
Its not a problem since you have no brain 🧠 to worries about 🤣🤣🤣
😂🤦♂️
😂
i love this guys videos. so clear and gets straight to the point. could watch these for hours
The length of the string depends on the height of the object you are tying it to, so its always different. When the bag hangs it should be at the left of your nose when you are in your stance. that will keep it simple, you can always lower it to your chin to make it more difficult
This was the first video I found a few years ago from your channel and stayed with you through out. This video, as almost all others, is clear in instructions and no BS. After this, I learned to proper jump rope (still waiting for 21-30 as many others 🤓) and understood different techniques in boxing. Love your channel, keep up the good work!
JT all you videos are amazing, thanks. All of them is kind of boxing encyclopedia.
Thanks for your explanation. I've been involved with amateur boxing for almost 10 years and no one has been able to articulate as well what you're actually doing when you use this bag.
That was rad dude. I watch all your vids and always take a heap away from them. Cheers for the tips brother👊
My friend you are a legend. Great technique and movement so fluid. Ima try this.
Nice movement and great coaching: liked & subscribed. Thanks!
Super impressive timing man!!! Seriously impressive!
As usual, great video! By far one of the best channels for boxing. JT is up there with all the Freddie Roach videos I watch. So much knowledge on the internet these days. I wish I had all these resources when I first got into boxing back in the late 90’s.
0:36 he had me dying
Yes,thanks for this,I'm gonna try this to improve my speed too..especially in slipping the shots from the opponent.
really great vids man..keep it going
Amazing videos! Thanks for your hard work!
thank you for this knowledge, will apply it to my training
you did a great job on this video. Loved it.
never cease to amaze me with basic drills n old schools drill / techniues that just are not used in enuff gyms n homes, thanx for the reminder man
this drill can reinforce good slipping if you already have it, but to learn to slip you have to learn from a coach, or a good visual source like a thorough video. But you will never know for sure if your slipping is good until you spar, that's where you learn.
Great video!
thx Gloria
thank you
Your lessons are excellent, You truely are a great coach.
Thank you
Very useful
Nice work
thx my man
Great vid man. Keep doing what your doing.
JT you got skills homie! I like your fighting style, I fight similar but you on another level. Going to get some pointers here and use it on the slip bag.👊
U just have helped me a lot, thank you for your videos
Great . Thanks
Excellent 😁👍🏽 I'm ready to make my first slip bag! Thanks a lot🙏🏽
Thank you
I'm going to start incorporating this into my training. Won't use a hockey puck, though as I'm sure Im going to take a few whacks, lol.
The best video!
ThrowBack Video! YES!😀😁
Thanks a lot!
Thanks!
Excellent
Love it!!
wicked, i guess all this time I should have been saying thanks to Mike.
wicked!
THANK YOU:)
Damn, what a great tutorial. Great job!
I love my bag u teach well how 2 use it, my level in sparing skyrocketed after putting in a good 15 minutes a day for a couple weeks... THANX!
Awesome!
Thank you 👌🏻
Great video
excellent !
Like the idea of the puck and ball
Good vid... thanks
Im going to give this a try
Love the peek a boo styke vids
Damn good video bro, watched it like 10 times.
tnx very good
The other day I made my self a slip bag then came on to youtube to see if there was a good video for instructions on how to use it and seen in my subscribers videos that you posted one lol Jackpot.
Great info,,
A kind accurate tutorial 👍🏻
I did this exact thing with the water bottle slip bag and put it arms length from my heavy punching bag. This way I have to slip and time my shots and it’s like my bag is punching back. Very efficient
Interesting, I'm gonna make a good one and try it out
NICE 👍🏽
love JT!
There is a video on here by Kenny Weldon on the double end bag that I really like, i also have it posted on my blog. I wouldn't do much better than him, maybe try to search for it.
I have a few opinions on style but I think it comes down to the person using it, I'll probably have a post on it in the future.
As far as plyo's I used to do a lot of low impact stuff like lateral hops, and short hop drills, along with ladder drills and tons of burpees. Maybe hi impact is better but not sure
You super here
depends on your level, but if you are amateur then 6 rounds twice a week is ok when you are far out from a fight, in the 4 weeks leading up to a fight then you need about 6 rounds 4-5 times a week.
I just saw Mike Tyson throw 4 punches in less than 1 second when he was young. Incredible.
Your Great !
this is amazing, i made one last month using a string, mountain dew 12oz bottle and just filled it with water :)
Howzit JT, I like going back and reviewing your videos. Sometimes I would pick up something I missed the first time around. BTW, did you make a second video about the slip bag.
+77Hawaiian thank you! yes, here is that vid - czcams.com/video/eP8RLltu-78/video.html
This is excellent stuff. This is Mike Tyson's style!
that was impressive
Hockey puck great f****** idea. Thanks
great
Thank you very much, the video is good.
Could you do a tutorial on the use of double slip rope crosswise? I thought of using the single rope, but more work crossing two slip ropes angles and defenses in 360 ° .Greetings.
i already have that here - Boxing - Four Way Ducking Drill - Бокс - Boxeo - 복싱
lol i know, JK. I have a playlist on my channel for taller/outside fighters, check it out. A lot depends on your style and temperament, how you like to fight, of course you don't want to give away range if you don't have. It's important to be well rounded in case you run into someone your height or taller as well.
Hi JT, I like this video its super informative. You see I'm a shorter fighter so i try to use the peek a boo style. However yesterday when I sparred i noticed I was having trouble finding my range. Its weird because on the bag I can go all Mike tyson and throw all the hooks with the worst intentions and land them but once I come across a real sparring partner that all seems to become much more difficult. Im not saying that I expect it to be easy but I want to know what I am doing wrong. Plus, like I said i am a shorter fighter so over 90% of my sparring partners are taller than me which is why I like to throw a jab and slip to the outside like tyson. But the problem is that I find it so hard to land my jab because I've have a short reach and if i do get in too close then ill get hit with a shot. What can I do about this. Also I've noticed that my head movement has improved drastically Alhamdulillaah. So i do have the ability to slip punches but not constantly meaning that ill slip the first jab but then I get caught with the second one. In other words enlighten me please!
Minibeatz Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have two sources to help you, one is this video on footwork and punching - czcams.com/video/2MGh2DJ6aig/video.html
The other is this instructional video that I sell which is dedicated to solving your problem, you won't regret picking up this video - www.precisionstriking.ca/product/video-head-movement-and-getting-inside/
Grande !!!!
Hey Jason, what should I train to move like that before I do this?
nice my friend
i think you are my personal trainer...thanks a lot
Hockey puck hit my eye browse lool
yea sure, send me the vid or link to the vid
Hey Jason what is it hanging from? how did you fasten it to the roof?
I love your video man, and iv thouht about the same things before. I think you can easily get 3 shots off if you do the first two soft and the last fast and hard. If you do that you will get the extra shot in and make it 4
Im going to make one out of a cricket ball
Beautiful
I HAVE SOME OF MY FIGHTS ON MY CHANNEL
This is so cool. O
One of the first things a boxing coach told me is that the perfect slip will graze your ear. You want to exert as little energy as possible , and move as little as possible, to slip. So when I train with this bag I try to make sure it barely touches my ear or nose as it swings. A friend of mine told me it was a stupid exercise. I suggested he try it and the bag waked him in the nose and drew blood. Mine is filled with concrete......I don't know why Title sells one like that, but it makes it a little more interesting.
Again another/ very educational solid video, any good peek a boo boxing school you'd recommend. At 5'8'' and 185lb, I feel that style would be my cup of tea. Thanks again and keep adding 'em up
I dont know any personally in my area. sorry bro
Can you make a members playlist with slip bag workouts
I appreciate your comment and the idea but I don't use the slip bag anymore. I have these two head movements training programs which I think will be more effective - czcams.com/play/PL4Mb5fp5ywgKsZLhfS4zJyQUpoOddEYBb.html

Where is two parts ?
How long and how often should this be trained a week?
Hey man I love your videos would you consider making some coments as an outsider about a sparring match?
Maestro
:) sparring is the way to learn slipping then.:) tnx,but how many rounds how many days a week?
hi, please can you tell me how long you have your string and your body height, bcos i cant get mine set up right, ive used tiny stones in the bag , and the bag is the size of a tennis ball ,should it be lighter?,,great vids thank you
im a jeet kune do man how can i throw in knees and elbowz.
Instead of hockey puck what wud u recommend?
Do you have to roll or can you just slip fast?
i Love it.
thx Buff, you da man
Man,I like how you explain how the bag means nothing if you don't understand the correct way to slip a punch.
I like doing this it's hella fun bit you're better at it than I am haha! I was very slow when I first started training now I can move a bit faster now and I can slip and punch then slip or roll after it Great Video though
I use the sand bags from my weighted vest
