      Is it better to keep the bag filled with lass weight to get more speed? I just hung my bag up.

    The length of the string depends on the height of the object you are tying it to, so its always different. When the bag hangs it should be at the left of your nose when you are in your stance. that will keep it simple, you can always lower it to your chin to make it more difficult

    This was the first video I found a few years ago from your channel and stayed with you through out. This video, as almost all others, is clear in instructions and no BS. After this, I learned to proper jump rope (still waiting for 21-30 as many others 🤓) and understood different techniques in boxing. Love your channel, keep up the good work!

    this drill can reinforce good slipping if you already have it, but to learn to slip you have to learn from a coach, or a good visual source like a thorough video. But you will never know for sure if your slipping is good until you spar, that's where you learn.

    There is a video on here by Kenny Weldon on the double end bag that I really like, i also have it posted on my blog. I wouldn't do much better than him, maybe try to search for it.
    I have a few opinions on style but I think it comes down to the person using it, I'll probably have a post on it in the future.
    As far as plyo's I used to do a lot of low impact stuff like lateral hops, and short hop drills, along with ladder drills and tons of burpees. Maybe hi impact is better but not sure

    depends on your level, but if you are amateur then 6 rounds twice a week is ok when you are far out from a fight, in the 4 weeks leading up to a fight then you need about 6 rounds 4-5 times a week.

    lol i know, JK. I have a playlist on my channel for taller/outside fighters, check it out. A lot depends on your style and temperament, how you like to fight, of course you don't want to give away range if you don't have. It's important to be well rounded in case you run into someone your height or taller as well.

  • @Minibeatz_mmltuaiay
    @Minibeatz_mmltuaiay Před 9 lety +8

    Hi JT, I like this video its super informative. You see I'm a shorter fighter so i try to use the peek a boo style. However yesterday when I sparred i noticed I was having trouble finding my range. Its weird because on the bag I can go all Mike tyson and throw all the hooks with the worst intentions and land them but once I come across a real sparring partner that all seems to become much more difficult. Im not saying that I expect it to be easy but I want to know what I am doing wrong. Plus, like I said i am a shorter fighter so over 90% of my sparring partners are taller than me which is why I like to throw a jab and slip to the outside like tyson. But the problem is that I find it so hard to land my jab because I've have a short reach and if i do get in too close then ill get hit with a shot. What can I do about this. Also I've noticed that my head movement has improved drastically Alhamdulillaah. So i do have the ability to slip punches but not constantly meaning that ill slip the first jab but then I get caught with the second one. In other words enlighten me please!

    One of the first things a boxing coach told me is that the perfect slip will graze your ear. You want to exert as little energy as possible , and move as little as possible, to slip. So when I train with this bag I try to make sure it barely touches my ear or nose as it swings. A friend of mine told me it was a stupid exercise. I suggested he try it and the bag waked him in the nose and drew blood. Mine is filled with concrete......I don't know why Title sells one like that, but it makes it a little more interesting.
