@@Phillipmurr Absolutely not. Being biased has nothing to do with that. In basic terms, it just means you are more positive(or negative) towards something, which makes you more likely to ignore or attack minor flaws related to that bias. It can get more nuanced than that, but it has nothing to do with listening to both sides. Listening to both sides just means you are trying to be objective, but everyone has a bias. Only robots don't. This guy clearly has a bias towards Genshin, or against WuWa, because he so easily attacks minor flaws and makes them out to be major issues. I'm a Kuro fan, played PGR for 3+ years and had the highest hopes for WW being a new experience. Kuro definitely delivered on combat but as someone that left Genshin because I was burned out on many of its mechanics, I have been discouraged to find many of those same mechanics in WW. Maybe a company shouldn't "re-invent the wheel" but so many of the menus feel the exact same, so much so, I'm not sure how its legal? As much as I hate to say, I feel this guy a bit, its the initial discouragement of they many similarities. I plan to stick with it because 10hrs isn't enough to pass judgment. The problem with the names is that they're too many too fast, I got used to it but it's not only characters, NPCs and places add to this, they have to hook you but by the point you get into the story for real you were bombarded with terms that are new at a pace that makes your head spin.
If Chixia tells you to meet Sanhua in Taoyuan so the expedition to the tacet field in port Gunchao is needed to learn more about the threnodians and you embark with Yangyang at the orders of Jinhsi, well you get the point.
Act 3 for Scar act 4 for Aalto and Encore, they could've choosen some more memorable and easy names, Mortefi for example is both, simple and memorable because native English speakers can't be bothered with the correct pronunciation.
Jianxin. Yuanwu and Lingyang are characters that I have to make a quick google search every time they're mentioned because the names haven't earned a familiar spot on my memory, had they gone for something shorter would've helped honestly.

Sure, they can do better at exposition, but pointing out "too many Chinese names" as a bad thing is not fair, imo.
Names matter so much in East Asian culture, localizing them would most of the time result in losing something, even completely breaking it sometimes. Like Pokemon's rice balls to donuts.
We just need more exposure to familiarize ourselves, just like westerners are now familiar with many Japanese and Korean names.

    • @drekhunter
      @drekhunter Před 26 dny

@@fiamma_23 And who's saying they should localize them?
I'm saying that they were already dumping info on us and having to deal with these characters:
Yangyang, Chixia, Baizhi, Jinhsi, Sanhua, Jué and Mortefi, just in act 1 and 2 alone was too much when you're expected to learn about the Threnodian, the echoes, the lament, the retroactive rain, reverberations, Crownless, beakons and on top of that the only familiar named place was the gorge of spirits because you spend most of the time after that in Huanglong and Jinzhou oh and I think Jianxin was there as well but I can't remember if she was further down the road.
They would have been ok if they made a little space among them but you aren't even done meeting Baizhi when a Hologram of Jinhsi shows up asking you to talk with Sanhua, that's 6 characters in act 1 that isn't even halfway done my dude.
Let's compare it to the absolute dogshit game shall we?, act 1 Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, Venti, Jean, Diluc, all of them got a mini domain except for Venti, the character on the banner at the time we are allowed to breathe between characters.
Know when Genshin also made the same mistake? Sumeru, Rana, Dehya and her friend who's name I can't remember but she was supposed to be important, Tighnari, Collei, Nahida, Rana, Nilou, the factions, the fcking aranara who all have confusing as fck names and places with foreign names.
Now one could argue that they could've saved Baizhi for the investigation center because she didn't contribute anything to the Crownless fight setting, we could argue that Jihnsi could have stayed as the magistrate for a bit longer, one could argue that Yangyang and Chixia overlaped a lot.
You know what really didn't help at all? the dogshit dub, Yangyang the robot got completely outshined by Chixia, Baizhi is stoic in the first place, Jihnsi has to act stoic on the hologram, Sanhua was mostly stoic during our talk, Mortefi has so little time but at least he showed some personality so he is ok and where did the bubbly personality of Jianxin from the trailer go?
Sorry I went a bit long with my comment but just to make myself clear, I'm not against the Chinese names, it's after all a Chinese inspired setting, what I'm against is the terrible introduction and the info overload, too many characters that share too many traits are the ones introducing us to the game and the game itself having unique names for skills, passives, ultimates and buffs just made it worse.

everyone knows game development is a lenghty process its nothing new and beta phase helps for the first impression of the game which can be anygame but since beta is only available for limited number of players even if they wanted they cannot find all the issues that are bound to this game and fix them early on. as the game is released now it has more wide range of players and each and every player is unique this results in finding more issues with the games, these issue stated here is close to infinite because not a a single game can satisfy whole of its playerbase. so it takes time to find all these issues and fix thm early on and u have to keep in mind they need to pull of a major update every month too and please dont compare ver 1.0 wuwa with ver 4.7 genshin and dont set 4.7 genshin for base standard.i like genshin impact and when i got introduced to wuwa its just quality of life stuff here in wuwa.and one more thing im a game developer graduated recently(not working for wuwa lol)when i see people complain about new games early on i ask them just this 'then why dont u make it urselves?' every game has problems and the devs will try to fix it bcuz its their product and last and final most important thing is atleast wuwa devs are hearing out their community unlike genshin to be frank genshin was trying to monopolise this market and milk the whole community but wuwa just mi8 be the best contender against genshin and once again i play both games both games have their flaws and both games are pretty addicting.btw this guy on the video is a paid actor fr XD

in addition to the camera headaches, the auto face mechanics while comboing make optimally AoEing in tower (with any character besides jiyan or yinlin) an extremely uphill battle. you can be targeting a pack of 4 mobs and rover will randomly E toward a solo mob off screen. it is clearly not working as intended.

Look I know in this society we are all free to have varying opinions, but lil bro, come back to me again another time with your “fatal errors” when you’re ready to talk about how sloppy the camera and collision detection can be when fighting the bell-borne turtle and how often you can end up inside the body of it when you’re not supposed to, or how wonky the lock-on targeting can get, OR, if the game ran like how it did in the first week I was experiencing horrendous frame drops and could never obtain green ping despite my internet being perfectly fine, stuff like that for example that ACTUALLY matters the most, then we can talk. Other than that, all I’m getting is a nothing burger, all bun and no meat 😂
Edit: Seriously, this man gonna add in the battle pass as a talking point for one of his many gripes and thought he cooked something with that point? Really?? 💀

The UI in wuwa is terrible. It's hard to read. The text looks generic. The contrast to make menu things stand out doesn't exist. It's copying the format from Genshin, but like the cheap walmart knock off version of Genshins UI. The most glaring failure is the writing. I'm glad they have a skip button because there is little worth reading, and yes I finished part 6. The only part I found interesting was the black sails. But to each their own. I just don't get excited to play wuwa. I stuck around as long as I did because of the generosity. I read everyone hyped parts 5 and 6. So played those and rolled my eyes through most of the writing and especially the English Dub. Knock what you want about lack of end game and challenging content in Genshin, but you cannot knock its writing or voice acting, it's always on point, no matter what dub you pick. I would also argue that Genshins Stamina and lack of wall running was intentional and genius. When you start playing there are places you aren't intended to go and how they prevent this is limiting your stamina in the beginning so that you cannot scale certain places until your a higher level. Later areas have tons of traversal aids which make traversing easy, especially Sumeru on. Wall running is cool, no stamina running is cool, the combat can be cool, I find the fighting a bit repetitive, yes Genshins is too, but quick clears in Genshin is very satisfying and make the combat quick. I find myself avoiding mobs in Wuwa cause I just don't want to fight because the only motivation is echos, and to me echoes are annoying.

"Don't reinvent the wheel" LOL. Let's be honest here, Kurogames just copies whatever Mihoyo does (and no it's not a "coincidence", they first made Twin Tail Battleground (GunGirlZ), followed by Punishing Gray Raven (Honkai Impact 3rd) and now Wuthering Waves (Genshin Impact)) and add their own "color" (black, white, gray) to it. I wonder when the Kurogames turnbased game is going to come out, 2026 or 2027? Why are you acting oblivious to this obvious fact? LOL even PGR players know this.

Lol of course they're similar. Genshin's over world is built off breath of the wild. So like to compare wutherings over world to genshin is already an unfair comparison because like did you forget where they came from?

Wuwa is the best gacha currently out, and that is just a fact. Perfect? Def not but the best none the less.

admit it, the story-telling and camera directions are sh--. Same problem in PGR.

I disagree. I am someone who enjoys storytelling much more than gameplay (not that I'm an expert either) But the direction of the camera makes me feel comfortable and the storytelling, although it is true that at the beginning has its flaw, This changes a lot after

if you don't have atleast 30+ hours in a Gacha Game you shouldn't be able to give a Review, or that Review should not be taken as a Serious Review. If you Climb in Wuwa, i'm sorry but you might be the R word.

10 hours.... no dude you need to stop talking. Literally WuWa did learn and made the short comings way better. Also NO REACTIONS. This has to be the worst and most uninformed review of this game. He is so delusional and wayyyyyy too dramatic
