Cheers Vic, very useful. Just bought the GoPro 12 here in Peru. $500. Expensive, but I needed it. Just FYI, the GoPro 7 is a very tough camera, but it cannot survive a 50mph drop from a motorbike, followed by being run over by the car following you . . .

Hey 👋 kinda impossible to figure it out to be honest. Factory reset is probably the best option and start again. If it’s still happening after that then it may be time to get in contact with GoPro

Hey Jimmy, cheers. To be honest, it's kinda hard to figure it out from here, but chances are it's a setting somewhere, or mode that you're in. If you haven't dialed in a tonne of other settings, a factory reset is probably the qucikest way to fix it.
On the go pro 12 can you still get it to show your speed?
I have the standard and hdr setting but somehow im missing the log option. How does that happen?

Hey Dave, thank you. No cast option with the GoPro I’m afraid. You might be able to screen mirror the app but that might be quite laggy. Enjoy the new gear 🙏

Now I'm working on just familiarizing working the basic settings for a stroll outside at night, and during the day here as the leaves here in upstate New York are getting pretty.

Can you make a video more about the timecode? Back in the day all my pro video-cameras accepted time code sync settings. Made it so easy to edit live music stuff. Would automatically make multi cam group clips all in sync before editing. Since 2010ish every brand has removed those timecode features except for the huge expensive cameras. Would it be easy to sync a few gopro and a separate sound recorder like the zoom? Funny the only feature I find useful here was common in the late 90s lol

I had looked to see if modern camera had timecode, but wasn't finding anything definitive about it, but have since learned that if you have an audio jack, there are outboard devices now that will send the TC pulse to one channel of your camera, and even your Zoom or Tascam audio recorder and then jam sync everything that has this devise connected to it. Octopus is one such device, and there are others. Essentially, one device will act as a master clock and then jam syncs the rest of the devices if you need to do so.

@@kennyadvocat Mind you, this was a couple of years ago when I looked. Yes, the GP has it, but what I've heard is other H12's, but nothing about being able to interface with 3rd party devices such as the Octopus. My guess is likely but who knows though?
This would be a feature to have as syncing 2 cameras, or VO from a device with TC would make syncing much easier, though matching waveforms is not too bad to do. Have done it myself.
Howdy! I recently purchased a brand new GoPro Hero12 camera from Emag and it won't work without the default Quik app, so if it won't load data from this app, the camera is basically dead. Of course I installed the app. but the updates are not installed even after hundreds of attempts, it still gives me the same errors, I also created an account on this application, for nothing, plus I bought space in the cloud from my phone, thinking that - here's the problem (it was full), it's not good either, I also checked the memory card so that the gopro is compatible, it associates in bluetooth without problems. On the camera screen it only shows me the steps for the optimal language and then the application logo (flashing). Should I uninstall the app and install it again, what else could I try?

Hey Robbie, very first impressions are the screen isn't great! Similar issues with the first firmware last time round, but an update sorted it. But otherwise, hasn't overheated, decent battery life. Once I get some bright thing in the sky, I'll be able to take it out :)

Just bought my first GoPro(11)
I'm really struggling with the quik app. I'm trying to edit my videos but it seems to freeze alot and takes ages to do. Once I've done my edit it takes ages to save but won't save to my phone 😢
Got my Hero 12 a day before and looking at the image quality seems I am missing some settings. Images are coming out to be blurry. Same with HDR and superphoto with linear and wide both settings gives same output with sharpness set to high. Any settings that needs to be changed?
So if images are coming out blurry, how blurry? Are you shooting in daylight or low light?
There is no focus in the GoPro 12 so images should be clear and not blurry.
If you’re taking photos handheld then try something that’s not handheld
@@VicBarry Thanks for the reply. I do take pictures in broad daylight with proper colourful surroundings. The issue comes when I see it in the app and with a little bit of zoom the pictures looks too blurred. The same issue comes post transfer to the computer as well. And yes I do take handheld pictures. Is Super Photo or HDR with wide or linear the recommended settings? Or are there any settings with the shutter speed I can do with Raw quality?

Hi Justin. Fastest way is to use an sd card reader and the sd card out of the GoPro.

Yeah, the 11 had this issue on release as well, but they fixed it with a firmware update. Guessing they’ll do the same here

why does the camera use HEVC encoding on all videos my adobe premiere elements editing program won't accept the videos i shoot for editing
Is Elements fully updated via creative cloud to the latest version? If not, that could be an issue. Also worth exploring downloading the HEVC codec. Lots of different places but I believe the official place for it is Microsoft. Not sure about any where else.
@@VicBarry Yes I bought the newest elements version thinking this was the problem and I downloaded the HEVC codec still not working. Do you think there is a HEVC codec for the elements program or if its in the computer it should work with elements

Don't let gopro and Creators fool you , this is just a 11 with software updates. Bet gopro won't update the 11. They could, but then no one would buy the 12

Fair enough, no wrong end of the stick. Cheers for the comment all the same. It's easy to say the 12 is a glorified firmware update, and for the best part it seems like that in places. But the extra battery life may be one of the things that people need. Then again, batteries are cheap. The thermals seem slightly better in my, so far, limited experience. Ultimately, not everybody is upgrading from the 11. I take it you have the 11 and won't be upgrading?
