Hello to Belgium. One question: How is Mr. Coopman? Did he suffer from any injuries or brain damage, parkinson, slurred speech like Muhammad Ali? Muhammad Ali hit him such a lot punches to his head that I am anxious if Cooopman is all well with speech, health etc. If he is well and don´t suffer of Parkinson than boxing cannot be the cause that Muhammad suffered from Parkinson. Thanks for an accurate answer.
I think mohamed Ali is the best sportsman ever in the universe and the globe will never create such a man. He is not only a boxer, he is a philosopher and a role model to all generations. His history must be taught in schools to know how heros are created
What I admired about Ali is when he had an under matched opponent, he would give them an opportunity to show what they could do. He knew he could knock them out at any time.
Yes Muhammad Ali knew coopman was not a match for him, so he took it easy on him, and coopman couldn't even speak English, the way Ali went over to him to see if he was OK, really touched my heart. Muhammad Ali was so sweet..
Ali allowed Coopman to hang around for 4 rounds. He did that so Coopman could say he went 4 rounds with him. That was Ali's greatness... He would make much weaker opponents hang around for awhile and get a few shots in. Ali was such a great man. God bless him for being the greatest and not allowing anyone to manipulate or lead him in a direction he didn't want to go. R.I.P., to one of the greatest men that ever lived on Earth...

Even though this was post Manila and Coopman was a zero, Ali still had some of the hand speed and snap in his punches that made him an all time great. Three months later, he would KO Richard Dunn for his last KO. After that fight...Norton III where he was exposed as an ageing champion fighting with smoke and mirrors relying on his mythic status to win unimpressive decisions leading to the dreadful farce against Holmes. But here, he still looks like The Greatest.
I argue Norton 3 should've been his last fight since Ali probably wanted to set the score straight Still a record of 50-2 (or 53-2 if he retired after Norton 3) is amazing by most boxing standards even today
@@sherlanjuandaputra1168 exactly, people act like once that 0 goes it means the boxer sucks, you gotta eye test and look at resumes and also what age they were fighting at and what fights they should've won or lost
Ali’s last fight should of been after recapturing the belt from Forman. Let’s be honest now. He would always have had Parkinson disease but maybe he wouldn’t have been as bad as he was shortly after retiring for good after the Trevor Berbick fight.
Have you ever seen a fighter with his hands down land punches when they are always walking backwards? Ali was doing it in the first two rounds. He had the height, reach and even weight advantage but adding in his skills like speed, it was no contest. The Flemish fighter did receive $100,00 for just being there. A good chunk of money back in the day.
When you are fighting Ali, not understanding English is probably an asset! You have to feel sorry for Coopman - I hope he got a decent payday for taking such a beating.
Joe Louis fought guys who were stiffs and it became known as the Bum of the Month Club. This guy Coopman was such a bum Louis never would have considered fighting him. Ali was over the hill and should have retired but he had one more trick up his sleeve-lose to a stiff named Spinks and best him in a rematch for some additional pay days.
Nah Ali was definitely Carrying him. Coopman was a good boxer, good man & very respectful. But his skills alone were no match for Ali. Ali hit him at will whenever he wanted to. Coopman took some punches but I also think Ali wasn’t throwing hard enough shots and he pulled that move on Patterson in 65’. Coopman was also the perfect easy opponent after the Brutal vicious war with Joe Frazier. You can even tell he still had some of that power 💥 from Manila
