I used to spar with his sparring partner at Bufano’s gym in Jersey City,N.J. . Mike Rooney who later became Ali’s chief sparring partner. They both were from Bayonne,N.J. ,Chuck was a really rugged fighter the real Rocky of Staloine’s story. anyway it was a good fight.! 🥊🥊🥊🧐🇺🇸 👍🏼👏
I am a fan of Muhammad Ali, but my respect also goes to Wepner, who stood up to the end with all courage, despite fatigue and exhaustion, and in front of whom? The greatest boxer in history.
No, Ali was already moving backwards and chuck unexpectedly hit him with a body blow to the side that sent him to the canvas. If Ali hadn't of already been moving backwards the blow probably wouldn't have knocked him down.

Ali was getting hit repeatedly behind the head and the ref and commentator was in on the dirty fight. Unbelievable: Ali is truly the greatest of all time baby.
This was an absolutely incredible fight. Although the sad and scary thing about it is that Chuck Wepner's many punches to the back of Muhammad Ali's head probably had a pretty big negative effect on Ali's parkinson's. R.I.P Champ 🙏❤️

Starting in Round 2, wepner starts dropping his hands which leaves him wide open for Ali’s left jabs and straight right hands. You can see wepners head snapping back. Wepner took a whale of a beating that way.
Absolutely the greatest fight I've ever seen, and I've seen a hell of a lot of fights in every weight division! One line is really true from one of the rocky movies, Ali hit Wepner harder than he ever hit any other opponent, but he just wouldn't go down!
Really? This fight over the Ali vs Frazier trilogy or Foreman vs Ali? Ali fought the toughest fight of his life to me in Ali vs Frazier 3 and Ali displayed immense power in his Ali vs Foreman fight. This fight is amazing tho, just not quite legendary as Ali’s other fights.
Not "the greatest fight I've ever seen", but one thing I will say about it: Wepner sure showed heart. Just like Rocky: an inferior fighter, yes: but loads of heart and determination. And Ali -- like Apollo Creed -- didn't take him seriously, and didn't bother to train for the fight.
I would challenge anyone to say they loved Ali more than me….fell in love with him as a 6yr old watching him with my Dad ,………but what a fighter , what a brave man , a proud man to take that punishment for 15 rounds and still attempt to get up….Rocky Balboa …❤️Ali the greatest….❤️surely Chuck the bravest. 🥊❤️

Ali: Ain’t gonna be no rematch, ain’t gonna be no rematch
Wepner- Don’t want one
Wau , was für ein Kampf es macht richtig Spaß habe ich noch nie gesehen .Unfassbar was eine Sportliche Leistung.Hammer🔨🔨🏋️🏆👌👍👏🎯🥳🤩🥰
Stamina of Ali and grit of Werner is amazing
I loved the way Wepners face kept punishing Ali's left jab...
Q
Wepner is a dirty fighter, anyone who can't see that he is trying to hit Ali in the back of the head is blind.
Yes no one was talking about that.
Foook dirty fighter
czcams.com/video/drBT91gNKPA/video.html
He was trying to frustrate him and get him out of his game because that’s his only chance lol
Yea and ali was known for pulling heads down to tire out opponents. They all try what they can to gain an advantage.
If Ali couldn't dance in the ring he probably would have lost more often. Fight dont dance
Yea Bob Sherdian acting like Ali was doing the hitting behind the head he also tried to trip Ali in the 7th rd I believe
Those Punches to the back of the head were Brutal. One of the Greatest Technical Boxers of All Time, CHUCKY WEPNER!😆🤣😂
I am a fan of Muhammad Ali, but my respect also goes to Wepner, who stood up to the end with all courage, despite fatigue and exhaustion, and in front of whom? The greatest boxer in history.
Hitting Ali always in the back of the head. This is dirty.
I might be mistaken but wasnt chuck standing on ali,s foot when he went down . he was falling before he hit him
Exactly
yeah, that's why they cut the feet out when they show the video.
No, Ali was already moving backwards and chuck unexpectedly hit him with a body blow to the side that sent him to the canvas. If Ali hadn't of already been moving backwards the blow probably wouldn't have knocked him down.
He clearly stepped on his goddamn foot!! Clearly
@@jimmyc1518 Wrong. They showed Wepner stepping on Ali's feet in the National Newspapers the next Day. Wepner to his credit admitted it wasn't a legitimate knockdown.
Real life rocky 'chuck wepner'
manjot singh expect rocky didn’t throw no cheap shots
Rocky Marciano is the real life rocky (rocky is based on him)
@@LoxiiTox Sly Stallone had to pay Chuck Wepner millions for using his story for Rocky.. Look it up..
@@LarryDarylDaryl which is the accurate story?
1) stallone had the idea, but got inspiration for the fight scene after watching the fight.
2) stallone's idea was based on the fight.
@@tor13128 Stallone stole the idea from the fight. He had zero idea for 'Rocky' until he watched fight. He wrote a movie based off of Wepners life.
James brown and Red Foxx hosting, classic!
Man This Fight is a Masterpiece !!!...15 Rounds !!!.. good Boxing !!!
Bonsoir,
Merci pour ce combat d'anthologie. Ce qui me surprend n'est pas le punch d'Ali mais l'endurance de Wepner.
Cordialité distinguée.
RK622.
Wow…that was a great fight. Wepner showed a ton of heart. The real Rocky!!!
Idk man Rocky doesn’t rabbit punch every round 🤷
@@bizarreadventures156 welp looks like he did my guy, was a loan shark too but too nice of a guy, letting people keep their thumbs.
Skill and stamina of great Mohammad Ali

Muhammad Ali's tactics and gameplans are pure genius. Chuck Wepner took so much punishment from Ali.
what?
@@4EyedAnimation lol
Maybe, But Wepner proved to be a far more durable individual since he's still alive and remarkably healthy at 84, while ended up suffering Parkinson's.
Ali was getting hit repeatedly behind the head and the ref and commentator was in on the dirty fight. Unbelievable: Ali is truly the greatest of all time baby.
Yeah taking this bum to the 15th round, great
@@Igoruhandchu he was punishing him and exposed him for the whole 15th rounds
Marciano was the greatest boxer 🥊 not ali

This was an absolutely incredible fight.
Although the sad and scary thing about it is that Chuck Wepner's many punches to the back of Muhammad Ali's head probably had a pretty big negative effect on Ali's parkinson's.
R.I.P Champ 🙏❤️
حریوامتوحش
He should have done , what he done in the 15th round. Althrew the whole fight!! Instead of playing around this guy! It took a knock down of Ali to get serious . Ali should have knock him silly ! What? For real man!
Bull. Total speculation based on nothing
@@timthompson8297 Head trauma can cause or exacerbate neurological illnesses such as Parkinson's, and blows to the back of the head are far more damaging than ones to the front or side of the head.
It's pretty obvious tbh, idk what ur on about mate.
@@timthompson8297 it sure didn't help him not get Parkinson's.
Mohammad Ali...congrats!!!
Wow what a great fight. I know this was 1975 but I tell ya ali still had it. Yeah sure Wepner was only ranked #8 but he had an amazing heart and he never thought for a second that he was gonna lose
Probably because of his dirty style
@@dr.renere that's all you gotta say? Piss off if you can't even give a good point
15 rounds is a ridicuolos amount of time. How many rounds die they have Back in 75'?
I only know that they Changes the rule, after one man died, Not able to givecup.
Then they Had the Limit of 12 rounds
He never thought he would loose? You gotta be joking. Wepner looked lost, confused and it looked like he skipped leg day. 😂
@Justin Griffith Wepner was punch drunk from the 10th round on.
Without this fight there wouldn't be Rocky.
Hey we both have the same surname 🙂
Except we actually like Rocky

Wepner was always a dirty fighter. Pure bum
What a great fight and some great shirt collars out there .

To think what he would've done if the man hadn't messed with his career..amazing
What? There are at least 40 better fights I can think of. This isn't even in the top 100 greatest boxing matches 😒
Ali vs frazier 1st fight, one of the greatest fights ever , if not THE BEST 👍🥊🥊 fight ever.
Ali had welter ko power.

This man took a BEATING!!!
Or, in the words of the commentator at 35:24, “His face was a great round of boxing”
Not as bad of beating as Ali took from George chuvalo that sent him to the hospital.
Isn’t this the point where he stepped on his foot to make him fall?
