Ali was the absolute BEST boxer in the history of boxing, in my opinion. His "bravado", which in part was an act to create tension and anticipation for the world of fight fans; his ability to put challengers down; his speed and power; his smoothness when dancing around the ring; and his class and compassion at the end of his fights. Not only that, but watch the movement of his hands always reminds me of a cat. So quick. So smooth. So fast!!! Ali made it look as though he was a cat on the hunt. Simply masterful!!!! His impact on me will remain until the Lord takes me home. Met him when I was 12 in a "foster" home in Albany. He was promoting an upcoming fight at some armory. He looked donw at me and said something (don't remember what) and then knelt down and started pawing at me (boxing) and hit me on the chin, then hugged me and patted me on my head. At 64 yrs I still do and always will remember that fondly.
I wish that I got to meet him, even though he was different with age I’d still love to meet Ali, I’m 17 and starting to watch all of his fights/interviews. This dude is one of my heroes.
