They usually use female dogs in movies regardless of whether or not the character the dog is playing is male or female, just to ensure that the dog doesn't end up flashing people. I also think it might have something to do with obedience/cooperation or something.
@@tehrobotickitten7050 I'm with you on the flashing part. But to obedience I find boydogs are better trainable then girldogs. Girldogs have the tendency to flip you the bird if they could, especialy when they know the trick already.

Jim Carrey LITERALLY had to get government agents (I think CIA? Please correct me if I’m wrong!) to give him training to withstand torture because the mask and makeup took so long and felt really uncomfortable to wear, so the fact that he’s laughing and joking around shows how much of a trooper he is! Mad props to old Jimmy here!
No, you’re right. It was the CIA. However, I would say the makeup being “uncomfortable” would be an understatement, especially given how long he had to do it for which was just under 100 days. That’s absolutely brutal, but he gave us one of the best Christmas movies for the ages. He’s more than a trooper- he’s a warrior

I think it may have to do with how many times they rehearsed it. She probably _did_ laugh the first few times, but after seeing/hearing the joke so many times it got old enough to resist laughing about it.

This film looked like it was a blast to make. Like, even if you were just an extra, this must have been so much fun to be a part of.
Ironically Jim Carrey said it was one of the hardest and I believe miserable shoots he ever did. He compared being in the makeup to being buried alive everyday.

Granted live action v voice is very different, but when Carrey embodied the “physical comedy” Grinch I had in my head...yeah, it’s hard to top that.

Sadly I feel like cumberbatch was waisted as the Grinch; they dint really do a lot with him. He’s basically a green Gru in the new one. He’s nicer even before he learns his lesson.
