Dive into the extreme world of Venus with our latest video! From its acid rain to potential signs of life, discover the mysteries NASA's DAVINCI mission aims to unveil in 2031!
My husband had a proposed project up against DAVINCI in the Discovery program. I can't say, after I read about it, that I'm upset that DAVINCI got the nod. It's going to be awesome, awesome science.
I think at this point you might as well start an online college or university. I started watching you when you only had a few channels. Simply impressive
Might I recommend reading some books by Michio Kaku. His books on space, physics and the future are entertaining and written in a way that makes it easy for non-scientists to understand.
Simon here is a suggestion for a series of videos: periods in Earth's history! Doing a video per era, like Jurassic, Triassic, Paleocene, Eocene etc. The history of our planet is so epic yet most people now next to nothing. Too bad you are not in Geographics any more. It would fit there I guess. Do come back.
@7:29 You know your video is great when I am totally wrapped up in the script, then you pause to remind me of what you think I want to hear more :) . Loving the new channel Factboy :)
Just imagine that perhaps within a few decades, our material science might progress enough to construct probes which can both survive and thrive on the Venutian surface. Then, we might end up learning things which would completely revolutionize our understanding of our place in the cosmos.
I had made a comment with the same point but for whatever reason, this channel deleted it. Regardless, the Earth and space stations are the only known places in the solar system that can produce fire since combustion requires molecular oxygen.
@@unluckypants6459 a quick google suggests it's only atomic oxygen. So really just random atoms bouncing around in the atmosphere. Not enough for ignition.
Well, we're starting with the premise that you suddenly appear on Venus. With that as the starting point, the idea that you would bring some oxygen with you is not out of the question.
Another Simon Whistler channel?! Hell's Bells! At this point, fact boi narrates my dreams. "Hello, this is your pork rind induced night terror and I'm Simon Whistler. First though, let me tell you about our sponsor, SurfShark."
EnVision is an orbital mission to Venus being developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) that is planned to perform high-resolution radar mapping and atmospheric studies.
It's incredible to me how the US cut NASA's budget so hard given that it has given us far more quality of life tech over the years than their military which if I am correct in remembering has a budget in the 10s of billions. With what little budget NASA already had that cut was just mean for no reason. Spoken as someone from outside the US ofcourse.
...and now I want sci-fi series about humanoids killing their planet and in the last episode, lo and behold, it's all on Venus before life developed on earth.
Part of the problem is assuming that the microbes that are on venus have evolved on earth and then are now trying to survive on venus. Anything there would have evolved to survive there.
Wait just a minute...you're saying there's probably no life on Venus!!! That means that tract of land I purchased on Venus is worthless!!! Man I'm pissed.
It has a supercritical fluid as an atmosphere. It's somewhere between a super heated gas and liquid of extreme pressure at ground surface. That's about as strange as one could imagine a place to be.
To me its incredibly disappointing they aren't putting a microphone on the probe to record the sound of Venusian wind as it descends. it could very well even pick up the sound of thunder, but we wont hear that for god know how long. until another probe is made with a mic
with all that said; this makes me wonder if the atmospheres of both Venus and Mars consist of about 95% carbon dioxide how come they differ so much in temperature? Just don't tell me it's all because of the overabundant presence of sulfur on Venus.
Hold on. When earth has massive eruptions it causes a year or more of extreme cold. Why would more volcanos going off on Venus make it hotter ? I would think though it would be easier to tame Venus’s atmosphere than create a whole new one on mars.
Venus and Io are the two closest equivalents to Hell in the Solar System I do wonder if Veritas is cancelled, how’s NASA going to get higher resolution images of the high ground for Davinci’s landing?
Between not being quite as much mass as Earth, and having a near tidally locked rotation rate, I suspect plate tectonics there just couldn't quite get going the way it did on Earth. I kind of assume that rotation rate contributed to distorting the interior enough to kill it's core magnetosphere dynamo. It would be fascinating if microbial life does somehow manage to survive in the upper Venusian atmosphere. (ツ) ☕☕(ツ)
Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble gases, Chemistry, and Imaging. Really? Couldn't they admit they named the probe after Italian Renesas artist?
Why are we assuiming what life we find will have to follow our requiremnts for life? Life is ment to adapt and evolve, what is unhabitable for us might be perfect for alien life
Just E magician how they feel, the worse off, killing themselves or each other all over the shop, walk on egg shell, walk on tip toe, with yr mouth hanging open, now that's a pretty pic tune A shell A shell A shell ❤ Simon says

I desperately wish you would stop making new channels. I have like 4 or 5 of them set to do not recommend but every few weeks without fail a shitty new channel pops up. Just give it a rest man.
Simon has the unique skill of sounding incredibly upbeat even when describing your flesh bursting in to flame while being crushed in to dust.
Why we love him lol
Maybe that's what he's most upbeat about.... 😅
My husband had a proposed project up against DAVINCI in the Discovery program. I can't say, after I read about it, that I'm upset that DAVINCI got the nod. It's going to be awesome, awesome science.
What was the other proposed project?
I think at this point you might as well start an online college or university.
I started watching you when you only had a few channels. Simply impressive
Thanks for starting a space channel I love your videos and I love learning about space so this is perfect ❤
Same
Might I recommend reading some books by Michio Kaku. His books on space, physics and the future are entertaining and written in a way that makes it easy for non-scientists to understand.
Whoa!!! There might be life on earth too?? Mind Blown!
Simon! Get an HD laser print of the painting "Whistler's Mother" and frame it and put it in the background of your channels or videos!
One of the biggest problems with H2SO4 is that it is extremely hygroscopic - it will suck up any liquid close by and never release it.

How have I never seen this channel before, omg SUBSCRIBED lol
Venus has it's flaws but the food is great and the kids love it! 😁👍🏼
Brilliant! I've been trying to find fresh, fun things for the kids to do! Who knows, I may even pass on your recommendation to my ex- wife. 🤣

Nasa was looking for open source design concepts capable of just that. Clockwork computers and such. This could be your moment.
Just send me there to walk around i’m built different.
We should send flat earthers there and test what effects its hellish conditions have on organic life 😁
How could you burst into flames without oxygen ?
I had made a comment with the same point but for whatever reason, this channel deleted it. Regardless, the Earth and space stations are the only known places in the solar system that can produce fire since combustion requires molecular oxygen.
Good question
There’s some oxygen in Venus’ atmosphere. Not breathable to us humans, but oxygen nonetheless
@@unluckypants6459 a quick google suggests it's only atomic oxygen. So really just random atoms bouncing around in the atmosphere. Not enough for ignition.

Damn. Nice reference to the Titan. Lol too soon? Absolutely not!

Loving this new channel.
Another random video I click on. Another channel for Simon
We out here !
Need to promote your New channels more, like in the description on ur main channels
I hope to see the surface of Venus in my lifetime. Even if foggy through the disaster of atmosphere there.
I'm sure I've seen this guy before somewhere...

Another day, another Simon Whistler channel discovered!
How would we be able to distiguish life if it was non-carbon based?
...and now I want sci-fi series about humanoids killing their planet and in the last episode, lo and behold, it's all on Venus before life developed on earth.
Part of the problem is assuming that the microbes that are on venus have evolved on earth and then are now trying to survive on venus. Anything there would have evolved to survive there.
I thought I was subscribed to all Fac Bois channels 😂
"Life... Umm... Finds a way."
Wait just a minute...you're saying there's probably no life on Venus!!! That means that tract of land I purchased on Venus is worthless!!! Man I'm pissed.
Not funny
Broh you know you’re gonna have a CZcams channel on Venus. Mars too broh
I hope we find non hostile alien life in my lifetime.
I think the reason we haven't discovered life on Mars yet is because of the Silurian theory.
Jesus how many channels dose this guy have
How many youpube channels does Simon wishlist have?
So it's like two kids fighting
Discovered it
Did not
Did too
Did not
Did too.
😊👍💪👊🍻
Wouldn't those pressures and temperatures be able to make ammonia on venus
Simon, I'm pretty sure there are planets with higher temperatures outside the solar system just not in it
“Divinci Probe”… 54K views. “Whale Song On Venus” - 6.8M views!
"Science the shit out of Venus"
It has a supercritical fluid as an atmosphere. It's somewhere between a super heated gas and liquid of extreme pressure at ground surface. That's about as strange as one could imagine a place to be.
!!!
I like to refer to “Plant 2” as “Sol-c”
Simon says. They're real.
They're?
To me its incredibly disappointing they aren't putting a microphone on the probe to record the sound of Venusian wind as it descends. it could very well even pick up the sound of thunder, but we wont hear that for god know how long. until another probe is made with a mic
"Science the shit out of venus"
Thats what I like to hear!
Cloud cities?
All this modern technology and we still cant build a venutian lander that can survive more than 20 minutes is what gets me ! 😮
Are the programers technically writing The Davinci Code 😂
I don't really think you would "burst into flames" seeing as there is no oxygen for flames to burn. Your flesh would probably be seared off though.
Vulcanism lol. 🖖
first
Grok
Astrographics.....let's get out there and explore further, so we have more content.

Why is Venus "upside down"?
Possibly the retrograde orbit? It's goes "the other way 'round".
Silence fact "If there is a subject i am interested in Simon has a channel about it" 😂😂😂

They should use a balloon
Yes thriving societies with marketplaces and open air festivals 😂

Short answer…no.
The Venus probe will bring back a zombie apocalypse.
As the sun cools, it would be interesting to see those oceans return.
By the time the Sun "cools" it will have long since absorbed and destroyed Venus.
Yeah that would be nice, but how do we live for another billion years?
Venus traps heat haha it will have enough forever by that point . It would take eons too cool off haha . No moons is telling
No.
No. Glad to help
seanh0123 doesn't actually know. Glad to correct
Burst into flames?
There is no oxygen in Venus atmosphere..
not a hope

A pretty hostile place plus it has virtually no magnetic field to protect any life high in it's atmosphere.
_Will We Find Life in Venus's Clouds?_
No.
It’s possible we have mold haha . Or the byproducts of old life
This is old news ....its been said there is life in Venus clouds for years....but if there was they would have send more crafts in there already
