Be they from Lieneker, BBC, the british government and all the other European governments and media organizations that went on a smear campaign against Qatar. This is not the first time Lineker gets woke. He previously said he has dark skin and he knows what racism is. If he's going to get woke about human rights, then he needs to get woke about ALL human rights. Stop bringing politics in to sports, movies, TV and everything else. Their view on homosexuality has nothing to do with football. But also, the West needs to stop trying to dictate the worlds behavior, maybe Qatar should ban English fans for drinking alcohol to absolute oblivion? I’m from the UK & hate how 100% in the right we assume we are as a nation.

      Politics is everywhere. Their human rights record has everything to do with a football tournament played on the worlds stage. Don't think the West is dictating how to live, by Gary Lineker commenting on human rights abuses that most would consider abhorrent.

    • @Tigolbitties69
      @Tigolbitties69 Pƙed rokem +1

      @@velvettg1995 Disagree, sports, movies, tv is a place to escape politics and switch off. We don’t need it in every chamber of our lives. America has draconian laws about abortions and gun rights that most countries would consider awful, they also invaded Iraq illegally. Mexico has terrible corruption. Why don’t we ban ceremonies or events happening there for their wrong doings? Or how about the BBC being morally selective, allowing Russia/China to be aired for opening ceremonies but ban Qatar from being shown? Why’s that? Because Qatars beneath us in our eyes? And need to be taught by the courageous and virtuous West how to live righteously? It’s nonsense and you’re feeding right in to it out of unconscious bias based on where you live. Taking a knee or wearing an armband is a gesture, and the rise of politics in sports, tv and movies has caused more polarization then we’ve ever seen in modern history. Creating an Us VS you situation in the West that we’ve never seen before. Street Gangs wear colours and show signs how did that work for them & warfare? Not very well did it. Well it’s not for us either. A multi colour armband is not the answer, nor is condemning Qatar. There are other ways to get the message across and it doesn’t need to be done via football.
