This song and NEVER SAY NEVER. Thumbs up!!!
I like that scene in Reckless where Aidan Quinn and Daryl Hannah dance to that.
I remember when this song came out how controversial it was because it was about a girl getting an abortion being played openly on the radio.
He had an awesome quote that I always loved: "I start crying before I cut the onions. That way I'm in control."
This song was Romeo Void's one and only Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song did peaked at the #35 spot during the summer of 1984. Debora Iyall was the original lead singer and co-founder of Romeo Void.
What I got from it was that whatever bad thing happens in her life, it is only temporary. She will fix it.
The lead singer once commented during a live concert that this song was directly inspired to respond to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean."
do never say never!
Ah... the kind of pop we had in the 80s. So many different styles and personalities.
Great 80's post punk band. A must reaction from Romeo Void is: " never say never". Check it out. By the way...... I love you guys. Keep being you!!
I LOVE NEVER SAY NEVER!!!! GREAT PUNK BAND!!!!!
Asia & BJ, you’ll love their “Never Say Never” !!
Fun 80's song and Lead singer had a unique voice.
The music video for this song is so ahead of its time. Killer band, this song is interesting to say the least
this is a great song . thanks for letting me hear it again. been a long time . 💓👍🏼
And yes BJ there was definitely a movement of strong women in music and art and film in the 1980's. Kate Bush comes immediately to mind, Dolly of course, Madonna, Pat Benatar, all the punk rock chicks like Alice Bag and Su Tissue and Polly Styrene... Blondie... Belinda Carlisle even dabbled. Roxanne Shanté... Latifah... MC Lyte. Damn dude I could go on and on. I love 80's music because so many women ROCKED back in the day
This country boy was blown away with this tune, Debora Iyall's voice, and amazing band, shoot!!! Great jam!!
The lead singer was a pioneer in the New Wave sound as a female Native American----Debora Iyall. The saxophonist was awesome and one of the best in the business. Sadly, he lost his hearing and could no longer play.
Benjamin Rossi RIP
Great song from back in the day. Great reaction.
Now, if you haven't yet their song Never say never (unedited) is a must.
Enjoyed this one.
I had the 12” single. 😎 Debora Iyall ❤️
So did I. 12 inch singles were like gold back then!
Remember this song at my Jr. High School prom.😅😅😅
The feeling and vibe of the 80s. Well said.
Fun 80s song
It's about unwanted pregnancy
my first love! the 80s!
I just thought it was literal. She got knocked up and "took care of business", as the line goes. Great song, no matter.
It is - I don't understand what's NOT to get?
Que temazo Dios mio!! , una de las grandes canciones de este gran grupo
Romeo Void was sold to Columbia Records and when the label asked her to lose weight she said no and the label pulled all their support causing the band to break up
Miss ths saxophone 🎷 that was popular back in the 80's.
Too bad this band didn't last.
I know the lead singer, Debora lyall, still does gigs now and then.
and the band is from my area and we have produced more classic bands than you can even count including Sly and the Family Stone, Creedence Clearwater, Santana, Big Brother with Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, Doobie Brothers and more more more.
i first have to thank KROQ for playing this way back when, is where i first heard this. 2nd, was so damn heart breaking when some MTV show[?] tried getting the band back together for a one night performance and the come to find out the sax player had some sort of ear damage and couldnt play sax anymore, he couldnt even be in the venue when the band played with someone filling in for the sax player. also the record studio management [?] hated the lead singer cuz she was FAT.

Romeo Void was awesome. Until MtV era shot her down because of her size. But so talented. She was an art teacher in high school after this. So talented. Watch bands reunited on VH1 to hear about them. On CZcams.
I always thought this song was about Planned P@renthood - I still do!
More like UNplanned parenthood tbh
the name Romeo Void of course implies there's a shortage of real life romeos around.

@@robyndismon394That’s not what the lead singer Debra Iyall has stated. Go watch the VH1 show “Bands Reunited” with the episode on Romeo Void.
NEWSFLASH: HELLO!, The song is about ABORTION!
A temporary thing??? Not in 9 months😂😂😂😮
The video is about a girl who is involved with the boy but at the end of involvement she becomes pregnant with nowhere to go so she takes things in her own hands and gets an abortion
With this song “RV” made it plain that a “tough” woman didn’t have to present like a man. Tough but feminine was not easy to pull off.
This is my song back then. My days of roaring thunder car race time.. quarter mile. Hit the pedal to the metal.😄
I miss WXRT in Chicago since I been in Vegas 24 years. The only station that would play this song.
