Keep up the awesome work Jose!
Same
I would like him to do a Baptist church Grove. It's alot of cymbals and rides. Toms are to gloomy and rock.
If y'all like these type of lessons, don't hesitate to join!
I'm a member and usually don't advertise stuff in comments, but this is an exception. People are really helpful over there and of course the lessons are fantastic!
You rock Sebastien! We love having you at DBO Academy and seeing all of your progress!
I totally 2nd this, and I don't normally do that either. 😅
@@keithalbaniskickdrum Haha well thanks Keith!! I'm so glad to hear that you're loving your experience!
I fell in love with Tom riffs firstly, I believe. It's soo cool to see this get focused on. I'll be on it in my lessons! DBO was totally the the right thing to do! When you kicked in the tempo, I suddenly got down with the sickness to.😄🤘
I'm so glad to hear that!
I heard Disturbed in there too lol
Thank you Gabe for this, I have learnt so much about church worship drums that I always thought were to difficult
I don't usually comment on stuff but I've got to say, I love your content, it's simply super helpful and direct, and as a church drummer myself, this was just awesome to watch! Thanks for the creative approach to playing these types of church grooves. Certainly helpful as I serve in the worship ministry playing 5 services every week.
more grace
and God bless you for doing this helping us to grow
this was easily one of the most helpful videos i've watched for learning drums. thanks for this, i'm definitely looking to join when money isn't so tight
This is really cool. This should help whenever I play for my worship team. God bless you man
I'm gonna be drumming at my church this summer and I'll definitely learn these grooves! Thank you!
Thanks for the lesson! Looking forward to play *Ticks and Leeches* next sunday!
Thank you so much for this video! I needed to learn some drum beats for my school's fellowship. this helps so much.
I'm always amazed by how you explain everything into a whole new level. Very catchy and easy to follow.
my daughter plays drums at school and at church and man! shes good, especially for a Jamaican teenage girl
This was really awesome and the grooves are really nice. Thanx man🔥🔥
This is really good. Will have to get the Tom's from the office as only been using hi-hat, snare and bass drum. I also only use my left hand so will see what beats I can adapt for that.
Great video! Takes away some of the " mystery" out of this genre of playing. Thanks for sharing!
So nice that you have got content for ALL kind of drummers, love you! 😊
This is an awesome set of lessons I need to learn and use at church, thanks bro!
Thank you for this; I am going to show this to others who are learning the drum (I know of one). Also, this cheered me up after having a mental breakdown earlier on
Another reason to like you and your content. I loooove your versatility, lessons, tips, and overall vibe 👏🙏
Great lesson, thank you!
Very helpful, right on time! Nice video! Can't wait to try them on my Tama drums!
This is so easy to follow. Great lesson 👍
Super helpful! My Tom game at church is definitely my weakest link! My cymbals over ride everything a lot so good to learn using the toms as cymbals
been coming back and forth to this video over the past month. absolutely love your lessons and the way you teach, god bless.
love your profile pic!
This makes a lot of sense. These beats sound very similar to the beat for the song “Audition” in Bare: A Pop Opera, which is set in a catholic school (I think it’s catholic).
Thanks for the lesson! Very informative!
I always do the fifth one and get creative from there.
Great video!
I completely agree with your hypothesis on why toms are some emphasized as apposed to cymbals. Though I’ve never thought about it until this lesson. Love the channel brother. 👊🏽
these look super fun! thank you for this lesson
I love your content, these videos are really helpful!
Why do i hear "tom grooves" as "Tom Cruise"😅
Toms are my favorite for church music. The more the better.
DEICIDE 😎👍
God Bless you for sharing 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much man this video is amazing and helped me out so much!
wow this Tom grooves is useful. I can use this in our praise and worship songs.
Loved it!
I play Drums in my Church too. Thank you very much vor this very interesting and helpful Video! 😃👍🏻❤️
Bro your quality changed 👉👈😻 I'm loving it
bro this is really usful bro thank you.
This is all information I’ve had to learn through feel. I’ve been playing in church for 7 years now and all of this is vital information for drummers that are working on dynamic and “feeling out” the song and atmosphere. I’ll be showing this video in our worship development class next week. Great information
My thoughts exactly! I'm a drummer that tends to play guitar and lead worship these days so I don't get to work at kit too often. I have felt my way to some of this, but this video just made it all so easy! Thanks team!
True and this is only my second year of playing drums in church
Dynamics is one of the hardest thing for a drummer to learn.
As a beginner drummer I am trying to focus on my rudiments. I will have to come back to this once I am solid with my rudiments.
You are on it! The best is, when you can start to incorporate your rudiments into lessons like this, 👍 it is absolutely the right choice that you are making here. 😀
very useful information! thank you
God help me to glorify you and use me to get my brothers and sisters to glorify you with songs to you
wow this is soo cool i have been learning drums since 1yr i will definitely try this Thank you ....
Another great course that opens up to drumming creativity, cheers ✌
So glad that you've been enjoying the course! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
"King of Kings" by Bethel is a GREAT song to practice this with. Has these exact beats. Thanks for the lesson!
I always play drums on church thx bro very helpful
This is my favorite video you've put out! Learned a Lot here! Thank you!
Wow, that's amazing! So glad you enjoyed it so much!
i'm always a bit in trouble with toms, this helps out a lot.
Been struggling with coming up with Tom beats for a while now, thanks for the vid Gabe!
Happy to help!
Wow cool 😃 thank you 🙏🏻
Damn learnt a lot in a few minutes 👌🏾 more than I've learnt within the years I've played drums how good!
💪🏼 Amazing tom
I joined my worship team a few months ago! This will be a great series! Thanks Gabe!
Genius thank you ❤
Awesome 👍👍 ,I got so many things by watching your vedio sir thank you

Thank you so much!! 🥁
This will actually help me thanks

Thank you for this information
❤❤ Tovyah love this ( incredible!!)
Thanks brother!!
Wow I love this
Thank u for this!
Really good drum beats Nice church groove drum skills
Great video again! My church doesn't currently have drums, but this was still awesome learning the different beats we could be using.
It's a very useful video for me as I'm a church drummer and I need to learn much more and thanks for these tips👍
So happy to hear that! It's truly my pleasure!
Just a thought to help ya brother try learning some tribal beats that's shady I did when i started learning this style of worship
Bass player (and lover of drums) here... Great video! I've played to these kinds of beats many times in worship sets, but never thought about the idea behind it.
Also, "Worship Tom" sounds like that could be the guy who's older than everyone else in the band because he's been at the church forever..... 😁
(I'll see myself out)
Hey Mark! I'm fairly new to playing drums in a band, and particularly with a bass player. What are some things you work on with your drummer? And how do you communicate with him/her while playing? (As a drummer, it's hard to signal when your hands and feet are occupied). Thanks!
As one of the drummers on my church's worship team I am all to familiar with these style tom groves. The real fun ones are when we play songs in 3/4 time. It used to be the bane to my existence but I love 3/4 now 😅
Church drummer here! Can’t wait to practice and use this during worship! Thanks Gabe!
Awesome! You're very welcome!
Love your Channel very easy to follow even for a beginner. Since I am a beginner sometimes I spend too much time trying to figure out the sticking is there any way you could put L and R over the notes? Keep up the great work my go-to drunk channel
Thanks great main 😊
Yep!!! Building from the basics to more complex! As all things should be! Great video, inspired me to listen to more gospel music haha
So glad you liked it my friend!
🥰 thank you BDO 🥰
Your drums are tuned perfectly
Man you so good I am telling you thanks for the vid
i love your. Drums
Tom Beats are so cool. Definitely spices up the beats, and you can get very creative with them!
Totally agree!
@@DrumBeatsOnline Cheers!
Perfect timing! I JUST became the drummer for the chaple on base for this deployment. First time playing with them this Sunday! Thank you!
Amazing! You've got this!!
@@DrumBeatsOnline Thanks Gabe!!
Deployment where?
Good video sounds great audio sounds great music. Drummer. Great show.
Great lesson!
Glad you liked it!
Amazing!
Thanks. Super helpful for not just drummers, but composers too. (;
The groove is so good 😭
Amazing video! Thanks for providing this information. This tom groove is very common in church music, however does it have a specific name other than tom groove?
I’m curious to know what traditional beat it originated from.
In your opinion, what are the best sounding sizes of crash and ride cymbals? Great tutorial btw
Gabe,
Love this. Question if I signup for lessons do you provide the sticking pattern for these beats?
Thank you idol
I love your videos
I’m just getting back into drumming (practicing at home with Roland TD-17). It’s been about 15 years since I played drums and would like to get back to drumming at church. This was super helpful as the music in church today is a little different than 2006
Thank you gabe!😇💯
My pleasure!!
Church drummer!! Post the toms to fill in the atmosphere. Also gives a sense of authority during very spiritual moments. Quick Tom breaks really make that worship a good intense experience!
Chuurch🔥🔥, nice❤️
More church drum lessons please🙏🙏
You really captured the contemporary christian drum sound with the fat drums and absurdly giant cymbals! Love the accuracy here!
Thanks so much!
The video was also helpful as I usually run out of ideas for grooves. Thanks!
They sound great with out calling them Church Groove! Nice !!!!!!!👍
Totally! These beats can totally work in a lot of different contexts!
