BHello. I know what are those symbols. I made a wand for myself some a few years ago with some of those same symbols. Those are nordic runes, from the futhark alphabet.
The one from the bottom, that looks like a straight infinity symbol is called Dagaz, and it represents the conjuction between Heaven and Earth. Opposites forces binding together.
The one that looks like an F pointing down is called Ansus, and represents Odin openning his arms to the World. Also represents the Word of Odin.
The one that looks like an straight "n" is called Uruz. It represent the Uro, a extinct bison that was hunted as a rite of passage. It represents also the qualities of the beast applied to a person (strenght, agility, stamina). When is associated with Jera, it calls to the sexual potency of both male and female.
The one that looks like a straight Yin Yang is called Jera, and is that, the futhark representation of the Yin Yang, bonds connecting in the center of the Earth.
I hope this results usefull. For anything, excuse my poor english. I'm from Ecuador, hehehe.... XD
this needs to get pinned. thanks a lot for sharing
I love when people not from England or America say sorry for my English with perfect to near perfect grammar and punctuation, when 99% of us cant even speak English properly let alone write/type it.
The Runes could also be Anglo Saxon Runes, which do share some of the Nordic runes.
The f could also be looked at as the rune of frey
Paul Newell rune of Frey points upwards
After researching, I discovered that the 5 symbols around the top shaft separating section are Dumbledore's initials- A P W B D, which suggests he did indeed do Ancient Runes when studying at Hogwarts and in fact he personalised his own wand, which is epic.

Dumbledores wand symbols are called Runes- FYI
You gave me a mini panic attack every time you bent the wands XD
Lol, I know what I’m doing don’t worry about 😉
@@KivoxEnder Thats what I told myself to keep calm
@@KivoxEnder Yeah you had me on that too...I was AHHHH! (in my head)
Same
The Dumbledore wand feels like they've made it of a very sturdy rubber. I couldn't resist bending mine a little after seeing him do it, and I was actually blown away how much different it felt.
Those symbols on Dumbledore's wand are Norse runes and they're fascinating!
Red Whale Interestingly, Rowling says the marking is only meaningful to Dumbledore and not for any reason we could decipher.
I found that out too: Harvest, God, and Happiness (or Day/Light) were the three symbols I've seen so far in the video (paused at 9 seconds to study lol) - to me they point directly to Dumbledore's creation of the Deluminator.
@@samuelvine what if he turned his old wand to the deluminator?
@@RedChairGaming that's an annoying thing to say...
Eirik369 Sorry. Wasn’t trying to be annoying. I just wanted to let them know Rowling says it’s something we can’t piece together; it’s something she’ll reveal later.
When you kept bending them, it made me physically cringe
Lol, 😁

That would be amazing

I would say Skender’s wand looks like that bc he is the ring master of the Circus Arcanus. So I think it’s supposed to be kinda weird, also it may have had to look like something muggles wouldn’t suspect if they would be attending the circus
Aidan Levy this is my favorite wand of all time. So unique.
Or turn into a staff
Skender wand screams Circus
It turns into the staff he uses during the circus. That's why it looks like a tiny staff
Circus arcanus is a wizard circus in the French version of diagon alley(sort of)so a muggle wouldn't be there
Little fact: Jude Law stated that the way he holds Dumbledore’s wand is he makes it look like he’s painting so if you think of what it would look like using the wand to paint then that’s how Jude holds it
and it makes sexy dumbledore that little bitmore classy
It’s not because of the US or UK it’s because of the style at the time (Art Deco) I think is what they said. But it has that 1920s /30s style
But none of these characters just got their wands, Some guy Adam 40+ years prior to this, I would say that all of the main heroes are around 30, 40 at the latest and then you have someone like Flamel that is who knows how old. But yes they did say that about the art deco theme, it just doesn’t make all that much sense to me. I can see some embellishments being added to them after the wind is made but some of them you definitely can’t add embellishments to at least not in any tradition away but they do have magic so magic covers everything, should be good 😁😁
KivoxEnder there is also the aspect that’s lots of people in the wizarding world have more than one wand. Or get a new one because they’ve broken it or lost it in a duel. For instance Ron who had his older brothers and then go a new one. I could definitely see someone like leta and Theseus getting a new wand with same core and wood type in order to get wit the times if you will
Also. We know that stylistic changes happen differently in the wizard world. It’s possible that wand design mentality has a history of eras we are not aware of

Is that a sonic screwdriver up on top of the shelf? Is it just the toy or is it a replica 🙃
Great video Kivox! Dumbledore's is my favourite too. I will definitely be getting that one. The symbols on his wand are the elder FUTHARK Runes. The one at the bottom looks like Hagalaz the H Rune, meaning Hailstorms, destruction and danger, being prepared for the worst and fortifying your defences. But it could also be Mannaz the Rune of humanity and unlocking ones true potential. However it could also be a bind-rune of Thurisaz which means offensive protection and curses and ill will. The Runes around the pommel are odd because they are Ansuz, Ansuz, Uruz and Jera. A, A, U, J. Ansuz is the Rune of Odin, communication, inspiration and truth. Uruz is the Rune of physical strength vitality and primal power, and Jera is the Rune of peace, happiness, new year and harvest. I hope that helps. Great video as always :)
A thought just occurred to me - because some of the Runes on Dumbeldore's wand having slightly dark meanings, perhaps this wand isn't Dumbledore's original wand. Maybe he won it from Grindelwald when they first duelled as teenagers when Ariana was killed. (This theory is based on the assumption that Grindelwald didn't yet have the Elder wand by this point. I'm speculating that he acquired that after the duel with Dumbeldore.) What do you think??? :)
It’s the toy replica, good eye 😁
Hey kivox, Thanks for making a review of these wands. I’m a big fan of the Harry Potter wands however the movie of fantastic beasts and grinderwald's upcoming movie feel for me like a rip-off from the original Harry Potter series. What do you think about that? Love your videos btw, I fell in love with your channel almost 2 years ago. You can really see how much effort you put in these beautiful edited videos of yours! Keep up the great work💪🏽👌🏽 much love and greetings from the Netherlands ❤️
I picked Dumbledore's wand as soon as I saw it,without even knowing it was his.
Most people who went to Ilvermorny got their wands from there because you weren’t allow a wand until your went to school in the US. Once you got sorted in a house you choose your wand. If you want more details there is a channel call MovieFlame where he made a video about Ilvermorny and how it came to be!!
Movie Flame is a good channel.
Someone still had to make the wands they don’t just appear out of nowhere a maker was still involved, the question is who is that maker 😁
KivoxEnder according to Pottermore a no-maj James Steward along with a witch named Isolt Sayre invented wands for Ilvermorny but they passed on the knowledge to other wand makers to make more for students after their deaths.
I actually enjoyed wizards of Waverly place but yeah that wand is my least favorite
For the design of the wands it carries over from the first Fantastic Beasts films, with the trim and design it’s largely inspired by the fashion of the time, the rise of Art Deco seems to have had an impact on design, as we know wizards could add embellishments or go back and add customizations from wand makers for what was in style and popular. Personally, the Fantastic Beasts wand style are my favorites as I’m a HUGE fan of Art Deco
Not really because some of these characters look old maybe even 50+ years old and they would've had to get their wands when they were 11 I think it just doesn't make sense
You did a very interesting and entertaining video. I like your clean studio! and al the wands in the background. Very well done. Thanks very much for sharing to us.
BRO!, when you said "a child's walking cane" I almost died laughing!
Love the editing in this! And I appreciate your detailed review I agree with you on your favourites! I really love Dumbledore's wand it's just so beautiful! I hope I can get one for myself! Excellent video! 😊
Careful talking shit, that wand might choose you!
I haven't watched this guy until now and I really liked him up until the point where he called Wizards of Waverly Place some dumb Disney show. Cancelled lmao.
I love how the wand with the ivory tint looks like a chopstick with the square handle
19:22 that symbol is the Viking rune “dagaz” and it means day or breakthrough.
Those other symbols are other runes with various meanings
Excellent review of the wands. I agree with your top picks and now I really want to get young Dumbledore's wand and maybe Leta's.
Would love to see more of your comparisons of the different wands.
I definitely have to add some of these to my collection, first up Dumbledore (of Course) Second Flamel and I do like Spielman's wand as well..Leta's wand is a must as well. From this new series , Queenie is my favorite thus far... I Think Johnny Depp is gonna kill it in this film but we have to see, I already find him more interesting than Voldermort (the older Voldermort anyway) I like the younger Voldermort better for some reason..he lost all his charm after his rebirth....Anways great video and keep them comin!
I love how flamels wand looks older because he is I belive 300 years old
Dude I could totally envision you as a descendant of the great line of Olivanders and one of the Olivander wand makers.
The wand discription idea is a great idea!
I love Leta's and Nicholas's wand. This wawe of wands is amazing
The symbol on Dumbledor's pommel is for Merlin. I'm guessing it signifies his belonging to the Order of Merlin (I think that's the name)
The cross with parallel line (roman 10) is Merlin's symbol, I don't know about the small twirl at each end though
Charlie Andrew it’s also the Norse rune dagaz
How is this related to merlin??
yes!!!! i was really interest to the box comparison in different brand and level...please do the videoooooo!
The three favorites you said you have are my favorites too, they look soooo amazing
Maybe it is the “Roaring Twenties” style wands. Also the noble collection uses cold cast porcelain. Finally as noted in The Carlin Brothers’ video on it they tease a different wand for Dumbledore that has that series of bumps kind of like a reversing of the Elder wand (wide bumps with small sections that sink in) it’s in the cast photo on Pottermore.
Perfect timing I just got home to find Theseus’s wand on my doorstep and then saw your review was out. This will help me decide which others I want to get. Keep the review videos coming!!
PS do you know if the Grindelwald elder wand it the exact same mould/material as the Dumbledore version?
Every time time a I see scenders it grows on me a little bit and my top 3 that I don't have Are, Leta,Dumbledore and theasus
That definitely makes two of us on that opinion.
I would like to see the video about the different boxes and a video on the defects you’ve found. Great review!
4:53 Stellar camera work! It feels like I’m watching an Apple ad.
Thanks dude
Great review man. I am definately a fan of Dumbledore's wand out of all of them. Thankfully I was able to get mine at Barnes and Nobles.
But no box?
@@KivoxEnder The box designs are different from the actual noble collection wands boxes. Sadly they aren't as alabrat though. But they still are the same quality in product.
I fell in love with Leta's wand. This kind of simple but also elegant design drew me in almost immediately. My second favourite is Dumbledore's wand.
I think the wand with the red ball on top belongs to a character in the Circus so that's maybe why it has a "circus" look to it, in my opinion. Dumbledore is also my favorite. With regards to pricing, the wands are $10-$12 more at the Wizarding Worlds; my Dumbledore wand at Universal Studios in Hollywood was $46 vs $37.50 from the Nobel Collection. With taxes and shipping, it may come out to be the same but at least you get to look at several different wands before buying than taking a chance at a damaged wand. (Mine came out to $52 total with sales tax) Just FYI.
I got Flamel and Dumbledore’s wands, and I’m thinking of getting Thesues and Leta’s wands too. However, I love the two I got.
How does this only have 34k views????? Ive watched 20 times alone haha i just received my Leta and Theseus set and im in love with them.
I love how you combine high tech technology and expensive equipment with the magic world of Fantastic Beasts!!!
The symbols on Dumbledore's wand are Norse runes. On the bottom of the pommel is a stylized Manaz, which is used to mean man or community. Given Dumbledore's tendency to try to find the good in everyone and do what's best for the whole, it seems fitting.
Around the guard, we have Jera, which means the year cycle and also the harvest--reaping what you've sown. Uruz is the ox and symbolizes strength. And Ansuz is used to mean communication, especially when it comes to divinity or the Vaettir (spirits.)
Love the video. I've owned them all, and believe it or not, Newts is my favorite. I love how it handles and how comfortable it is in my hand. Voldemort's is probably the coolest looking one though.
I was already enjoying this video but when you said Newt was your favorite character I was like, "Okay where's the like button, I need to smash it right now!" Haha! Same here, I'm a big Newt fan as well. I also really enjoy Dumbledore in his younger years as well. I notice you are sporting the gray waist coat just like him! Oh yeah I noticed, my friend. Great video. Now excuse me while I go purchase that Dumbledore wand for myself. :)
Wand lore kinda flies right out the window when you realize they cannot be repaired except by the elder wand and you can just buy them at the store. And when you are at the store do you relive your 11year old moment when another wand chooses you again? Or is that connection only with the first one?
As far as I know you would still want a one that is compatible with you, any wizard could use pretty much any wand if they are skilled, but having one that jives with you is the whole point of that initial choosing. You would want a child learning magic for the first Time to not have any difficulties with their wand. That would be the last thing they would need a ready been so inexperienced. I’m sure that an adult has a much easier time finding a wand just based on experience
KivoxEnder There’s a reddit thread that says another one will choose you again
Also in the video you mentioned American wands possibly being different. They are. According the research I’ve done, there are different magical creatures in America which would mean different cores. Also the four wandmakers in the US all has secret techniques and cores for the wands they used. One of them is know for Mother-Of-Pearl inlay on his wands whiiiiicccchhhh Newt has on his wand on the handle. Meaning Newt’s wand is possibly American made. (Obviously the movie people made it how they wanted it but if you insert what they made into the world of HP, then it would be indeed an American wand)
www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/FanTheories/comments/5hbxsn/fantastic_beasts_newt_scamanders_wand_is_not_his/
Oh boy here it is I’m excited
Great review! Definitely made a few decisions about what i’m going to purchase first (Dumbledore number one…obviously *cue Snape voice*).
Would also really appreciate your video on the flaws etc. It doesn’t seem to matter where your purchase them from when it comes to Noble Collection, there is always something not quite right. I bought two wands from the store in London and returned them both for an exchange but they still had some slight issues. Even when it comes to their other replicas there is generally an issue!
Ive been checking every hour of eveyday for this video.
Hope you liked it 😐😁
You did not disappoint sir.
When you were talking about the skender wand I laughed so hard when you said wizards of Waverly place but seriously I kinda like it and I think since most people dont like it means it will be the most valuable in time food for thought great video kivox love you
I actualy loved skender’s wand, my fave. Also the greek looking handle one looks great
Yes!, I’ve been waiting for this vid.
Hi Kivox I was just wondering if you could link the music you use in your video is the description as I love the music in this video?
I love the Skender wand! It reminds me of a harlequin jester renaissance design!
Funny commentary. I appreciate your honesty and eye for detail. Nice outfit
Hey Ender, if you remember in the Prisoner of Azkaban, Hermione was taking a class called Ancient Runes. A few of the symbols on Dumbledore's wand I recognized as Norse/Viking Runes, so I'd assume the symbols are magic ancient runes. I don't know what all of the runes mean, but in Norse mythology the sorcerers would use stones marked with runes (runestones) to cast magic. Rowling could have possibly worked that into the Wizarding World as she did the ancient Egyptians and their sorcerers. If that is true, the runes are probably meant to enhance the magical properties and powers of Dumbledore's wand.
Can't wait for the movie
I know me too, one more week 😁
Awesome content! There's one thing that I found a bit distracting though: the color temperature was a little bit too cool for my tastes, other than that, great video!
I just ordered the Dumbledore wand and I'm so excited for it to come in
Spielman's wand reminds me of an antique Chinese chopstick design. Chinese style chopsticks are squared at the top where you grip, and rounded as they get to the tip. Antique collector versions will feature things like ivory carvings at the handle. So it's very oriental. I wonder why.
I picked up Spielman and Dumbledore today and my Spielman wand is also a little wavy so I think it may just be intentional. I was pretty surprised how light the blade of Dumbledores wand is because I completely forgot taht there couldn't be a metal core because of the curly thing. But I really love them. I just don't know if I should get Theseuses wand or Flamels wand.
Btw. the video is really well edited. Keep it up
Quick question. So I recently bought some Wands and wanted to ask you something. I don’t know if you had the same feeling but for me I’m under the impression that Leta’s wand (on the fake metal parts) there is a different kind of paint job going on, and being the most comfortable-to-handle wand I own I wondered if you think it the paint might chip or fade away due to prolonged handling. Just from having it in my hand tho, I treat my wands very gently but felt that that may happen just from handling it. Thanks a lot and love your vids!!
I love Dumbledores wand..I have it myself and carry it with me when I wear Newts jacket
In regards to the symbols on Dumbledores wand, they are Runes, which as you know are a part of the Wizarding World. As for the one in the very bottom of the wand that looks like a stylized Roman numeral 10, I'm not aware of a rune that looks exactly like that, but it's closest to the symbol "Dagaz", which means 'dawn' and symbolizes intuition and inner light. The ones on the hilt I thought might spell something, but don't that I'm aware. But the two symbols that look like an uppercase F are called "Ansuz" and stand for 'Odin', which symbolizes God and ancestors. The one that looks like a tall lowercase 'n' is called "Uruz" and stands for 'Power', which symbolizes the primal creative force and gateways. The last symbol that looks like the "greater than, less than" symbols is "Jera" and stands for 'Earth', which symbolizes cycles and right action. Read into it what you will, but it seems like they were chosen at random and don't have any real hidden meaning. Which is disappointing. As far as the letters they symbolize its a J, a U, and two A's. I only know these because I used runes on a custom wand I'm making for a friend's nephew. Hope this helped. Loved the video!
Im just wondering if they decided to take a lot of design influence and cues from turn of the century /art deco design trends...ive got a BA in design and to me when i see all the silver/metal trim combined with black painted wood and thesimple lines of the dark wood and even the "wizards of waverly place" wand looks a lot like many designs i studied ....
The F looking tunes on dumbledore wand translates into Ash so ashes to ashes like a... PHOENIX
I would love to see a comparison for the boxes!!
I really liked Lestrange's wand. I think its very classy. you should make a fan film.
The symbol on the bottom of Dumbledore’s wand kind of looks like a stylized Norse rune “D” (dagaz) or possibly an “M” (mannaz). Of course, I could be wrong, I’m no expert in runes, but I think that’s pretty cool~
You guys seriously deserve more subs like you guys are so underrated and it annoys me
Great video! Flamel’s is my favorite
Just wanted to let you know there is a cheaper also from noble collection Dumbledore wand from crimes of Grindlewald on sale at Barnes and Noble
what an amazing review!
The Norse run on the bottom of the hilt of Dumbledore's wand, represents Daylight which represents light overcoming dark.
Thanks for the video! I like trying to make réplicas of the wands, it’s a hobbie of mine, can yo tell me what’s their diameter? That’s a tip I can’t find anywhere
00:09 On the wand in some of Dumbledore's posters - the 2 symbols visible on the wand's middle are the Nordic Runes of "Jera" and "Ansuz" (meaning "Harvest" and "God" respectively) with "Jera" being at the top and "Ansuz" on lower side. The third symbol on the end is a bit trickier but is probably also a Nordic Rune, specifically an alternate form of "Dagaz" which means anything from "Day" to "Inner Light", "Intuition", or even "Happiness".
I do feel like that third symbol comes from somewhere else too but I couldn't find anything about it atm.
But I have to LOL at the inclusion of "Harvest" and "God" on Dumbledore's wand because it just strengthens the JKR approved fan theory claiming Dumbledore is the character of Death from the Story of the Three Brothers :)
*EDIT* Ok after seeing the whole wand I think it's interesting that "Ansuz" is on the wand twice - literally saying "God" "God". Also the last symbol is the Nordic Rune "Urr" meaning "Strength". I have some theory work to do now lol!
I love the way Nicolas Flamels wand looks and also Dumbledore’s and I was going to get flamels and Dumbledore’s for Christmas but I had to change Dumbledore’s cause it was out of stock :’(
"the black" is supposed to be ebony which is an African hardwood which was a v popular material in the 1920s/30s
The symbols on Dumbledore's wand are runes from the Elder Futhark (Germanic tribes, good ol' viking stuff).
The one on the bottom of the pommel translates to D (for Dumbledore?), the ones on the guard are U, J, and A (2x).
The Wands from Fantastic beasts are so light from up
So, the symbol at the end of Dumbledore’s want is a rune and it’s upright when it looks like |X|. It’s the rune representing day or the letter ‘d.’ So, given that his name is Albus (meaning “white” in Latin, though it could also be interpreted as “bright”) and his last name starts with a ‘D,’ lots of symbolism there.
Omg I love the wands so much thanks for the video
the "lettering" on dumbledores wand looks like the anglo saxon runes used in the HP movies.
They are beautiful they are elegant and simplistic
I was thinking Wizards of Waverly place too when I saw that wand!!😂😂
I'll get Leta's wand because it looks more comfortable and Her wand looks like it is made of Vinewood which is the wood of my Pottermore wand... It seems like the wand chose me. And I am in Slytherin.
I've collected the noble wands since 2004 when they first came out and they've declined in quality when they became more mainstream with the parks opening up. The Fantastic beasts wands just don't feel the same quality to me and the boxes are all the same and done more cheaply. The inside "velvet" is alot more firm and not soft and the boxes don't feel as sturdy. When I got the Albus Dumbledore wand from this new line it felt very cheap and I wasn't impressed at all, probably not gonna get these new ones or atleast not in the collectors box
I would love to know about all the boxes...can you PLZ do a vid/series on The website Pottermore on the difference house, spells, location etc. Thx appreciate it
Symbol on the pommel is “Dagaz”, the ones on the ring guard are: Ansuz, Uruz, Jera, Ansuz.
19:07 , 21:11
^ Had to come back to this vid considering that I just got this wand from the collection series as an early Christmas present⚡️
I might be late to but the style of the fantastic beasts wands with metal trim, fancy handles, etc is because the 20’s and 30’s style was very much show using silver and gold in canes, pocket watches, and tortoise shells in glasses and trim of other items. The wands are supposed to reflect the era
I've subscribed and I love your videos
The symbols on the Guard of albuses wand are nordic runes for wealth, energy ecs
Kivox with mi spielman, s wand stands up
Great vid! Is a new wand basics coming soon? 🤔
I'd say the styles were like that because that was mist popular during the time period in the movie. Metal on the handle was all the rage probably.
i think the use of the metal is to make them appear to be more in style with the time of the movie and the art deco style that was the craze in the early 1900s
You should do a video comparing the weight of the wands. I myself would find that very interesting 😁 I'd like to know how much the Dumbledore wand weighed compared to others
I will definitely get Flamel’s wand. It’s the best design for me, second is Leta’s
i would like to know if the "new" Elder wand is more or less flexible?
