  • Magura brakes from Germany (although they are made in Taiwan) are considered the luxury brakes of the e-scooter and electric bike world similar to how Brembo brakes are to the world of sports cars.
Fitting a set of Magura brakes onto the ZERO 10X isnt as straightforward as you might think. There are many adapters and washers you would have to play around with in order to get this performance brakes to align and tune properly.
Heres a detailed tutorial on how to install the Magura MT5, a dual piston brake onto the ZERO 10X. The same steps would apply to MT4 or MT7 brakes. Have fun!
You would need the following parts:
    1. Magura brake set
    2. Magura adapter to switch the left side mount to a right side mount
    3. A 6mm Banjo bolt to switch the hose port
    4. Royal blood bleeding oil
    5. Clean Bleeding kit
    6. Magura Hydraulic hose
    7. Wrench
    8. Compression nut, olive and needle insert for the lever
    9. Needle driver to drive the needle into the hose
    10. Rotor Spacer
The electric version of Magura MT4e and MT5e would just contain an extra step of connecting the electric brake wire which is not shown in this video.

    Hello! Good job!
One question: If I buy the Magura brakes for my 160mm brake discs for my converted Xiaomi 1s, then with the MAGURA brakes the brake hose is on the inside near the tires and that is very close to the distance to the tires. Can I, like you, unscrew this brake hose from the inside where it is originally on the brake hose, also on the inside and then clean and screw the small oil screw and then mount this oil brake hose on the outside on the brake? If I unscrew the oil screw on the outside and screw the oil hose in on the outside?? Does this work with the front and rear MAGURA 4 piston brakes? So take the oil pressure hose from the brake, which is on the inside of the tire, and screw it on the outside where the oil comes in? Because you have the hose on the outside but the original when you buy the MAGURA brakes, this oil pressure brake hose is mounted on the inside at the back and front! Can you do this without having to mount the hose on the outside? I'm ASKING you to answer this question and help me a lot! Because then I could buy the MAGURA brakes and get them tomorrow! I just need to know whether you can screw the oil hose away from the inside of the tires and onto the outside like you installed the brake hose at the rear of the outside brake. Kind regards. 👍

+ one more thing why didnt u use magura e bike breaks and wired them up to the scooter because the customer whanted it that way or ? Because thats only usefull if ur doing wheelies on it and -1 in safety because if u disconect ur break cable and ur throttle gets stuck on full power only way to stop it from going anyhwere is turning the key off witch is vrey dificult if the scooters wheels are spining or just pressing the break but u disconected them so that is not going to help

The designer who designed it the way the brake disc in on the side of a cable should be fired.

Haha 😂 no it’s not that, different brakes have different configurations, so you have to adapt it for different bikes. Magura is very flexible because you can use either of the 2 bleeding ports as your hose inlet.
