Popular author and speaker Lisa Harper never married but wanted a child. When she heard about Missy, a dying orphan in Haiti, Lisa fought for over 2 years to adopt her.
I was a daycare provider and foster mom. adopted 3 kids and now they made me a grandmother lol It's a blessing adopting. U love them the same as your own children
I just watched this story and wept as I was listening to it. In itself, it is a beautiful story but as I listened, I found myself recalling a day nine years ago when I was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. I was sitting in church and as I felt the presence of God, I wanted to hide. I was sick, bald, my skin had a grayish-green tinge, I had four eyelashes... in my words I looked/felt like a human toxic waste dump at the time. I became aware of God gently asking me why I was trying to hide. When I could finally answer through my tears, He lovingly let me know I was His precious, beautiful daughter whom He loved...and that was all He saw. I'm crying again... Lisa and Missy illustrate this truth so beautifully! We cannot fathom how much God loves us, even when we were "sin-sick" and scarred. He pursues us and lovingly takes us into His arms. He makes us His very own, restoring us, caring for us and healing us. In the process, the beauty hidden within us burst forth!
I saw Lisa and Missy story for the first time 2days ago. When I was down and crying over a broken relationship that left me feeling inferior and not qualified and less beautiful. But After listening to Lisa talk about how she keeps reassuring missy of her love for her, I went about that day telling myself "Fatima Jesus loves you. He has made you beautiful, intelligent and confident" . That made me feel so better. Thanks Miss Lisa for sharing your story
Thank you for sharing Miss Lisa Harper. I watch you on Better Together and heard of Missy. I am adopted and this brought tears to my eyes and touched my heart on so many levels levels. I am grateful to our Lord because he saved my life. I was not raised knowing the word and watching the Better Together I feel like I am in a row of seats behind you ladies. For the first time I feel like I fit in. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for loving Missy. God knows what he is doing. You never missed the boat to have children. God had a specific child for you waiting on you all along. His timing is perfect. God bless you both.
I enjoyed this video so very much. I discovered Lisa and Missy on the day she arrived in Nashville from a post by Angie Smith. I have loved every post and every photo. Little Missy has taught me so much. Reading and studying God's love is wonderful. Hearing his love is wonderful. Missy and Lisa SHOW me His love. If I'm having a down day I go to instagram and scroll back through the photos. It is more than just photos, it is memories. I can remember how each one made me feel. I don't want to think about life without Missy. I am so thankful that God ordered my steps so that I would find Missy and Lisa.
Lisa and Missy, if you are reading this, Such a wonderful powerful Testimony, and it confirms God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are Love. Missy is such a beautiful Kid 🙏❤️
#DFJ2019 #IgnitePower Lisa Harper, you are loved, appreciated, celebrated, valued and most cherished! Thanks for your love and leadership this weekend in Dallas, Tx @OCBFCHURCH. I LOVE HAVING OPTION DOOR 1 or DOOR 2! I shall never feel motherless again. All the youngins in my life for a reason. Thank you Lord for a continual cycle of life bursting forth with fruitfulness. Lisa, hug Missy and give her some Dap and say it's from Auntie Roz! Jehovah Chayil over your life, our God of multiplicity Ana an army rising up!
God used that silly woman for His perfect timing. It was not your time but Gods ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts not our thoughts or the silly womans thoughts. God makes all things beautiful in His time.3v11. So beautiful you have so much love to give🥰✝️🙏🏻 Hope, Faith, Love and the greatest of these is LOVE💞
Oh no! The one thing she said paints a sad picture. I had seen her story on another channel, and she never added the qualifier adjective like what was spoken here. 2:31 "...brown finger." Cringeworthy. If the child was Asian, would she have said yellow finger? Native American red finger? I'm surprised she didn't say black finger. If the child was Anglo, would she have said white finger? Of course not, no color descriptor would've been used. This gaffe speaks volumes. I realize she has an unconscious bias, which is why she easily made the statement, rolling off the tongue. This could indicate a belief Lisa has about playing the role of a rescuer, especially since no one came to help her as a little girl being molested. A sense of being superior might bleed through. A beautiful & poignant story; I only wish she were more mindful, especially as a wordsmith.
Elaine Marie let us celebrate the beauty of love and redemption and not try to pick on little things. She loves her child. The child is a brown child ,it is not a pejorative term, it is a reality. God loves them,God loves you and God loves me. Let's celebrate that!
Your response to this video seems to poke at the root of all dissention in our world right now. "Thanks for sharing, loving, being vulnerable, but you unknowingly miss-stepped so your story if disqualified" This hurts my heart!
The outcome of this story is heart warming, however, the cognitive dissonance required to believe that the same "God" who created the circumstances for all the suffering, pain and abuse that was experienced in the lives of these two innocent, naturally loving people - is palpable. And to then credit that same "God" for creating the circumstances in order to repair and recover, from the heartbreaking situations that their God put them in? Seriously, Lisa? It's so sad that people don't address this dissonance using reason and common sense. Surely, Lisa you should know via your training and research, how inconsistent all holy books are (over 14,000 changes and errors in the bible from the EARLIEST Greek transcripts - Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus, translated over 300 years AFTER the supposed life of Jesus). Humans have evolved to naturally be caring and loving, we are social animals. No God Required.
I am from Haiti. Thank you for rescuing my sister🙏🏾😊

That friend of yours was so very wrong.
She contradicts herself. Why????

Seriously?
did you hear her say I guess the pale chick is my lot in life or something like that... like its not that deep ...
