    @l3ry4n3 The plastidip stuff seemed to hold up pretty well, but I ended up buying new boots anyway. I say give it a shot because the liquid tape stuff is so cheap and it's probably useful to have around anyway. It isn't the heat that is the problem with this type of fix; it's actually taking the carbs off many times that will break down the new rubber seal. Keep this in mind if you're troubleshooting other problems and have to pull the carbs frequently. In that case it is temporary at best.

    so how did it work? I was thinking of doing the same. you got an old Honda too?

      I did this on an old Yamaha XS400. It worked for a while but ultimately I ended up replacing the boots. The Yamaha carbs are difficult to get running well. My friend had an old Honda and the carbs on his bike were super easy to get running well.
