When Agent of Treachery was doing it's thing in standard I resolved a Trostani Discordant and even though I was playing on arena I could feel the wind come out of my opponent's sails as all the stuff he had just stolen came right back to me. Pretty sure he scooped after untapping and realizing he had no recourse and his Agent plans just weren't going to go his way. It wasn't a very effective counter to the Agent menace in practice but it was funny to see it work that one time and see the opponent realize his deck was no longer going to function.
This video really reminding me how good this last "block" was

The indestructible from Chance for Glory doesn't fade at the end of turn. That for me makes it infinitely better.
Omg with Angel of Destiny, this can actually work! Build a life gain or at least high atk on battlefield. Then play angel and chance for the win.

I use Chance for Glory on Winota Commander deck just to go all in for the final swing. Also, Niv-Mizzet Parun is obtainable by opening the welcome booster and Experimental Frenzy is included for 3 copies in the mono-red 2020 challenger deck which helps bring its price down further.

I have chance for glory in my winota deck. It's not the best card ever but when it works it's good times. Probably should pick up a copy each of the two whisperers. Nice list.
Guilds is the first set where I'm considering collecting all the cards in it. I loved the mechanics, Standard was so much fun when it released, and the Autumn art during it's Fall release really made it immersive for me. Idk, the set just holds a really special place in my heart.
another great part of mission briefing is you can pay alternate costs on the spell unlike flashback. for example: overloading your cyclonic rift again

Agreed, I love surveiling with Mission Briefing and casting the spell I surveiled. Mnemonic Betrayal is crazy when your deck revolves around card discard, removal. Early game destroy everything they got, late game bring it back :P

I love how the whole premise of the video is picking up cheap cards now they are out of standard rotation and yet the first few were all massively cheaper when they were first released!
I'll pick up Chance for Glory to try in my Vadrok deck. Fantastic combo'd with Sundial of the Infinite to end the turn before the end step. Mutate Vadrok and play it again.
Chance for Glory goes in my Feather EDH deck. Along with Isocron Scepter, Angel's Grace and Emeria, the Sky Ruin. Infinite turns in Boros.
How does that go infinite? Chance for Glory doesn't specifically target a creature, and Emeria pulls creatures from your graveyard. Forget to add a card for your combo?
Mistveil Plains is the land, and I forgot I have Sunforger on the field.
That makes more sense. A lot of work to put in, but the payoff is great.
@@silenceburns1336 in my opinion I like this combo better than Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine. I still run it, I just love the jank win more.
mnemonic betrayal is a bomb in CEDH - cast your opponents demonic tutors, and other overpowered spells
A few months ago I realized a few copies of Thief of Sanity and have an alela deck... I am like "This should be fun if I put in a copy in the deck to be cheeky." :P

The Chance for Glory/Warriors Oath/Final Fortune cards are super good in Winota. Swing in, get some humans that hopefully make more nonhumans. Play Chance for Glory to save your attacking nonhumans and swing in again.
Mission Briefing does something that Snapcaster Mage can't do... Replay Force of Will for it's alternative casting cost 👌😎

Mnemonic Betrayal lets you overload Cyclonic Rift from an opponent’s graveyard.
The 24 standard players that will be selling out of rotation won't make much of a difference but this is still helpful.
Doom Whisperer is so fun, I went to 2 life on my opponents end step, surveiling like a fiend, I discarded a bunch of creatures into my graveyard, started my first main phase and cast Living Death, won the game on the spot to many a groan since they were spot removing my Doom Whisperer to begin with and in response began the suveiling marathon. Solid choices Jumbo ;p

Any cards you would recommend to sub in for Assassin's Trophy? I agree with you that it likely won't drop in price anytime soon (reprints notwithstanding) and it's such a versatile card in that it can target lands as a last resort as well as including zero limitations on its targets. So cheap, too. Abrupt Decay springs to mind but feels inadequate.
I play both, if you're meta is kind of Combo Heavy, Abrupt Decay is really good. Is somebody using Brago to go Infinite with Strionic Resonator? Blow it up! Uncounterable! Aminatou about to go infinite? Blow it Up. Yisan? Blow it up. Hits lots of more generic value as well. Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Rhystic Study, Phyrexian Arena, Necropotence, Tireless Trackers, Azusa, Ashnod's Altar, Phyexian Altar, Skull Clamp, 3 mana Planeswalkers, basically all the important cards in any elves list, Alesha, Grenzo, Yuriko, Thrasios, and even Lab Maniac, and the list goes on. It definitely doesn't hit everything, but that Uncounterable clause makes it very reliable for destroying the things it actually can hit.
@@zenbrown7144 Abrupt Decay is definitely a house, wondering what a second spell could be that's equally versatile. Luckily I'm in Abzan (Doran EDH) meaning I have access to Anguished Unmaking but there's just nothing like the ol' Trophy.
@@dblohsteev Despark is good in some Metas, maybe a Mythos of Nethroi, if you're fixing is good enough.

I would rethink your idea of assasin's trophy being good. the two most important things in magic especially commander is access to mana and card draw, and giving your opponent more mana even if its just one land is not that good to me.
These are really the only cards I'm comfortable with buying until we know what will be in Commander Legends

chance for glory is hands down one of the best boros cards ever printed. having several boros decks, it's an absolute allstar!
