    I love how it's subtly implied that Launchpad did not see the giant rainbow up into the point that Scrooge pointed it out, and if he HAD noticed it, he probably would have flew into it of his own accord.

    I love any time where Launchpad gets to show that he's oddly knowledgeable about specific things. He may not be a well read, brilliant pilot, but he knows everything there is about Wrestling and Darkwing Duck. And it's always nice to see Huey having to deal with his analytical side giving him knowledge but no experience. Pairing them up together made this episode really shine.

    Although this wasn't a character episode, I like the way it's handled the boys for the most part, particularly how it shows Louie's character development as he shows a much more considerate and honest attitude than in the previous seasons while still being every bit the greedy triplet. And I think they're building up Huey's development bit by bit. Here he shows that he's not good at improvising due to his literal by-the-book persona and seeing him struggle to light up was very nice.
    What do you think the vultures would do of they found out that Scrooge and Co are keeping the world from being destroyed, seeing how the reason they targeted the Duck family was because their last adventure almost cost the world?

    I wish they had time to squeeze Donald into this episode. There are so many classic gags you can do with Donald in a wrestling setting. He too like Scrooge would relish playing the heel, but unlike Scrooge he’d be the “jobber” - you know he’d be beaten up again and again and again.
    Honestly that’s my only gripe on this season so far. The only Donald centric episode was the daisy episode. I want to see more Donald and Della interaction. In the first season we see the triplets unite together to stand against the dog of Dismal Downs, and when Dewey asks Huey if they are good enough to take over for scrooge, it should have resulted in the 3 of them uniting to prove together they can replace scrooge one day. He was supposed to be the face (good guy), but the more he tried to be liked, the more the fans turned on him. This is exactly what Dewey goes through in this episode. Both Rock and Dewey had to learn to roll with it, and while they handled things differently, both ended up becoming beloved by the crowds. One could argue that Scrooge's character also represents Rock when he was rising up in Hollywood. At one time, he returned to WWE playing as an entitled movie star heel (bad guy). He knew how to get the crowd to hate him. Another quick note: heels tend to not sell as much merchandise, which is why Louie focuses on catering to the faces.

    This was a super fun episode when I watched it, and continued how Season 3 has been the best season yet. Like, I'm no big wrestling buff, either, but I am familiar enough with the themes and terminology to get a good time out of this. You get a slightly deeper dive into a throwaway joke of Dewey reacting to the studio audience from Quack Pack turning against them by losing strength and seeing how Dewey would normally react to that kind of disapproval. You see a little more of Huey's struggles with his self confidence and needing to be the best the season built up. And yet you also just get a bunch of fun jokes from shout outs to Wonder Over Yonder with Webby's names for her fists to Launchpad watching wrestling while flying and so much more.
    It also is just a great pay off to another throwaway gag where Scrooge confessed to secretly keeping Jormungundr at bay. In a lot of shows, they wouldn't devote a whole episode to one easily ignored line meant as a quick gag to show how much responsibility Scrooge has to illustrate his want for a night to cut loose. And yet this show does that kind of stuff all the time, taking small, tiny gags and running with them. And really, that's one thing I love about this show, they have a really impressive attention to detail for Disney Duck canon as a whole as well as their own take on it, as shown by episodes like this.

    This is probably my least favourite episode. I think Scrooge acts very weird in this one. Why does he think his nephews are the best candidates to succeed him and fight an immortal snake for the destiny of earth? He knows both gods and superheroes, but wants to put his nephews in the ring in the future? I don’t even buy Scrooge as earths champion.
    It’s fun, sure. But it doesn’t feel real, even in universe. It feels like Scrooge-fanfic written by Webby. I legit thought that might be the twist in there end.

      I feel Luke it’s a keep it in the family thing. And he didn’t expect them to be doing it this soon. And he has a lot of faith in his family we’ve seen that through out the show. And I think Scrooge being the champion of earth is pretty much on brand but I can also see it being launchpad because of those vague adventures he would go on when the rest of the family is busy so this could be one of them. But I think Scrooge is on brand with the whole what the fuck element that Scrooge has going with like his friendship with the ghost of Christmas past,present and future and his beef with Santa clause. Sorry for rambling

      Scrooge isn't being weird, he's exaggerating his negative traits to make his "heel" persona more believable. If you only knew Scrooge McDuck as a money obsessed jerk then you'd probably buy the image of "The Miser" too.

    If non sequiturs are your thing Seaniccus, I have one wrestling suggestion I think you might enjoy. Check out pretty much any AEW match with Orange Cassidy in it. He's got the popularity Dewey wishes he had, and the way he gets it is so unique that anything I said about him would probably be a spoiler. Orange Cassidy vs Pac would be my suggestion to watch.

    • @Vikumax
      @Vikumax Před 3 lety +2

      Not a wrestling fan, but from I had been told, the Face tends to keep the righteous even at the end of a match. Jormungandr could have done with a finishing move and win but he kept dragging it, whoch is more of a heel attitude and the crowd was quick to pick up on it.

    • @Pooglian
      @Pooglian Před 3 lety +1

      I'm pretty sure it was the whole "beating up a defenseless kid" thing. That sequence wasn't really in line with Jormungandir's characterization to that point in the episode, where he was quickly and cleanly removing his opponents. I suppose they had to come up with a way for Team Duck (and Dewey specifically) to legitimately win, given the stakes.
      My headcanon is that Jormungandir didn't *really* want to end the world and start Ragnarok (at least at that time), so he deliberately turned the crowd against himself and gave Dewey the opening to defeat him.

    • @WolfMoon351
      @WolfMoon351 Před 3 lety +1
