I wonder how long Matt has been sitting on this character? Cause if he just spit that up on the spot, HE is my new favorite character. Not the crazy old dude either, Matt himself.
In one of the panels they did Matt explained that he was put on the spot by Taliesin suddenly wanting to go black powder shopping and just did a random voice for Victor. Apparently he even surprised himself but he just rolled with it. XD So yeah, Victor was the result of accidental improv you could say.

I always find it funny that people draw the hogshead as an actuall head hahaha! It's just the name of a type of barrel. Fantastic animation though. Weirdly though a hogshead (traditionally) is much bigger than a barrel, particularly when talking about dry goods so it's odd that its cheaper.
Yes, but in the game, it was described as an actual hogs head. Percy meant the small barrel, but of course Victor took it to mean an actual head.
Oh was it? I didn't remember that. My mistake. I sometimes become too pedantic for my own (or anyone else's) good.
Yeah there was a quick aside, where Matt confirmed that it was an actual hogs head, and I believe Talesin said he figured (likely due to the price, or Matts acting) it was rather quick so understandable to miss.
Ah, I wondered why it was animated that way. I kept thinking “a hogshead is two barrels” ... now it makes sense.
@@carolineeising717 Funny thing about all that though is a hogshead is actually larger then a barrel. A Barrel is 1/8 tun. A Hogshead is 1/4 tun.

OMG, this makes me so happy! This scene will never ever get old!
This is amazing and I'm so sad I've missed this until now. The only critique I have is that it would have been really effective to just some simple tweening when Percy gingerly puts the purse down. It breaks the animatic flow a bit but it really emphasizes how slowly he would move his hand better than your still frames could.
nice suggestion. Do you think it would break the over all feel though if i just had tween in between that section? the rest of the animation doesn't so i was kind of against it.
I think that section is an obvious example of where it would be very much allowed to break the animatic style.
This doesnt get nearly enough love as it deserves. You should do the sequel! :D

Has anyone pointed out that a hogshead is the name given to a small keg containing 52 1/2 gallons (238.7 litres) of wine, not an actual pigs head which would be a crappy container being full of meat, fat, bones, brain matter and junk? Though nowhere near as hilarious!! 😁
In the DM description (that is generally skipped in the animation), Matt describes it as an actual dried hog's head.
I think Percy/Talesin meant that the barrel was a hogshead, and hoping Viktor would recognize it and not be crazy like usual, or just clarifying that it's the 'hogshead' barrel, not some other barrel.
But yeah, viktor would literally use a hogshead.
I would emphasize victor's expressions and body language a bit more. these animations are a bit too robotic.
