So I've taken it upon myself to let you know the Gucci pieces worth getting and which aren't worth the money, especially since I have the prices. Gucci:Crafted from a premium fine leather Cassie: What were you giving us before 😂. Gucci hasn’t done a good job with providing the details I expect for a luxury brand. Even so what they crow about is still technically/ legally meaningless fluff. What kind of tanning, where tanned, grade of leather, etc.? - Kind of info we can get from other brands IFF it truly is a premium quality leather. 🙄

Love the costume jewelry. As far as the Jackie bag, do yourself a favor and get a vintage one. So incredibly affordable in comparison. I scored a vintage black one in like new condition for $500!

Cassie, I'm totally with you on the Jackie mini bags. The single chain is a surprising choice, especially in a world where customization is key. But the rich, dark jewel tones in this collection? Absolutely stunning! They add such a luxe vibe to the whole lineup. The small Jackie bag, in particular, stands out for its elegance and sophistication. It's interesting to see how this collection balances classic Gucci flamboyance with a bit of sensible chic.
Still watching the video but so far:
A lot of these prices could quite literally be halved for what you’re getting. Lots of fun details on top of classic looks which is personally my style, so I’m not mad about it.

This video is so right on point and the timing perfect with your opinion on the hoodie by gucci and other items. I find that the pricing outrage is so true for some of these designer heritage brands. No matter who you are, these days, you're going to know that i.e Target exists or others such as, Victoria Beckham, Adidas by Stella McCartney and wonder where the extreme cost is justified? Is there gucci webbing/taping on inside seams? Organic or special material origin factors? Cassie, you so succinctly said we are willing to meet you halfway but even "girl math" can't solve this problem. It seems insulting to the client. Gucci, let's save us both the bother, either put in the effort or just dont do this extremely basic item. It insults all involved.
They used to do street wear better than anyone, created a devoted clientelle who wear street wear, want the logo. Not sure if they still do but that's what they're banking on I suspect.

Cassie, aside from the chain issue, in 2021 the mini Jackie in exotic was only $2,500 compared it now. I came an across a screenshot of the item in my camera roll. I feel that Gucci is trying to be more exclusive.
I had been keeping my eyes peeled for the pink Jackie bag 👀 but it was a more vibrant color on the runway, so it’s a no for me! Some of those prices are 🤯
I have a marina chain necklace very similar but in silver, and paid less than 50 dollars for it. It has the 2 sizes of the marina chain as the Gucci one. Same size (length) as well. Mine was made by a local jewelry craftsman in town (Prescott, AZ). (Jan Griffiths).
That gucci tank is very simply nice.
The pricing is CRAZY! So I really fell in love with the short trench Kendall Jenner wore to the show and I was offered that to pre-order. The price? A whopping 3,800€. I am waiting for that to arrive sometime around March to see what warrants that price.

I had an epiphany this week. I am maybe into quiet luxury. Not the preppy part, but the part about buying things that are classic to my style while not easily identifiable price/brand. In my world, no one values fashion. I’m already the best dressed person and sometimes mocked. I went through a shopping moratorium to solve the problem of an overly crowded closet, shopping addiction, and still having real need. What I've decided is that I'm going to buy only a few items a year but allow them to be expensive items. It will increase my fashion budget but stay within my greater budget. My shopping addiction will be satisfied. My closet will stay spacious. I’ll only buy items that satisfy more need. I will never memtion price/brand/look whats new. Less fun I think. But something i want to try.

I have the Gucci original loafers and they are extremely comfortable. The reason I bought loafers was because I wanted a flat shoe. I don’t understand the point of adding a platform to flat shoes. I can see myself falling and of course twisting at least one ankle, if not both. I don’t mind the look of platforms but not on these shoes. Of course this is my opinion as a person of a certain age.😩

I didn’t like the bags, the shoes and the only clothes I liked was that crystal shirt. Do you remember when you were in school and you had a huge assignment that you just did not know how to do well and you just turned in something on the due date, but you knew that “F” was coming? That’s what this collection feels like. This new guy and his team are a little lost with these designs and pricing. The real test is going to be whether Shein, Fashion nova, DHgate and the likes bother to make knock offs. That’s how you know something is popular. 😂😂

Unpopular opinion - Gucci hoodies…. That ish feels like MONEY. Idk how they did it but the cotton has a stretchy, weighted almost silky feeling. After seeing their pricing / I’m Glad mine was a gift. 😂 xo

I reckon Gucci has sold a lot of streetwear in the last few years, hence the price of that hoodie. There’s probably a bigger demand for their hoodies than dressy leather shorts.
Any idea of what the small Gucci Bamboo 1947 will cost? The price increase on this bag since its release has been jawdropping, and somehow this has slipped under the radar.
When it was released around Jan 2022 it was $3,200. Now the same bag goes for a whopping $4,500 -- an increase of over 40% over two years. In comparison, Chanel's medium classic flap went from $8,800 to $10,200 (only $100 more than the Gucci price hike), up roughly 16% between its Nov 2021 and Nov 2023 prices -- and people can't stop talking about it.
For these prices my leather bags better be sourced from A5 Wagyu cows in Japan.
