  • In this video, Josh reviews a brand new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan AWD SEL Premium R Line.
With the ferocity of 10,000 sled dogs, the Tiguan bolts up and down the road with it's 4 cylinder TSI (turbocharged) engine producing 184 horsepower and 224 foot pounds of torque.
This top of the line model also comes with heated seats, panoramic sunroof, motion detecting liftgate, Sirius XM radio, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, heated steering wheel, memory seats, Overhead View Camera, all wheel drive and much more.
It averages around 24 miles per gallon (mpg) and comes in around $41,000 dollars MSRP.
The vehicle is also equipped with five star active safety features such as: Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Light Assist, Adaptive Headlights, Forward Collision Avoidance, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Active Cruise Control.
With comfortable seats and an amazing ride, the Tiguan is a winner for the VW's small SUV segment. It has the classiness of an Atlas, but the spunk of a smaller Sport Utility Vehicle.
This vehicle also comes with a few surprises, such as a third row, heated windshield, rain sensing wipers, motion activated infotainment system, heated side mirrors, proximity unlocking handles and remote start.
Access VW's Car-Net app and get remote lock and unlock, remote climate control, maintenance scheduling and even mileage reports.

I’ve had my 2021 Tiguan SE R Line for a few months now and thee ONLY thing I don’t care for is the euro regulation exhaust. This makes for fake rear exhaust ports. Other than that it’s an absolute amazing driving experience. It has the perfect blend of sport, luxury, and practicality. I had a Golf before this and was dreading needing to buy a dad-mobile, but I wouldn’t settle for less than this after owning this car.

I've had a Tiguan SEL since 2020 and I have no complaints. Well not yet anyway. Here's hoping.

Why do some reviewers seem to think it's got plenty of power and actually say it "zips around" and are clearly having fun driving it, while the predominant negative on almost any review site says it's under-powered...?

Thanks Robert for your comment! It could just be the difference between traditional VW drivers and reviewers. Josh reviews multiple brands, so it may be more noticeable for him.

@@Clickonvw ok, I just didn’t know if it’s underpowered or if it’s great fun to drive based on conflicting reviewers. Thanks for the reply.

So I just traded my 2018 GTI for a 2021 SEL R Line Premium, while the power difference between the two cars is pretty noticeable for me but I think the Tiguan has adequate power for a vehicle in that class.

I bought this car, and traded it for a RDX Aspec! That Tiguan was so damn slow with HP I couldn’t take it anymore! They need to add way more HP especially for a SUV

Thanks Catalina for your comment! There should be a button on near the cabin lights. Pressing it will switch between the lights turning on when the doors are open and not.

    What is a Teh-guan??? 🤦🏻🤦🏻
The name comes from taking part of the name Tiger and Iguana, turning it into Tiguan! (Tee-guan).
