Nothing can beat a quiet morning fishing. When I would visit my great uncle in Florida, we would get up at 3:00. The beach was a 30 minute drive from his house. We'd get there by 4:30 and watch the sun start to rise behind the cityscape of Tampa. I'd check the forecasts to see when the first nautical twilight would emerge. Those were special times.
Man it's been such a stressful month, my fiancée and I was closing on a house, we got it and closed about a week ago! Been in it for about 3 days, I may not be on the water myself but watching you is right up there with it - but I absolutely can't wait until things start slowing down so I can get back out before too long.

As always, LOVE the videos! I’m making a trip to Davenport this weekend from Illinois to try to catch a nice size flathead! Don’t worry I already ordered and stocked up on Whisker Seeker tackle! My first dedicated Flathead trip besides occasionally catching some up here while im channel cat fishing! Anyways, im super excited and you’re the reason I got addicted and fully dedicated myself to life on the water but more importantly dedicated myself to Cats! Turtles LOVE White Bass. Caught a mondo Snapper and a mondo Soft on it last weekend. Thought the Snapper was a 50# Flathead for a bit. I was beached, I cut the line and it just sat there bleeding. Then it extended it's long neck in a cloud of blood and ate the White Bass head. Safe to say Snappping Turtles feel no pain.

Just out of curiosity for anyone in the comments or even you spencer! I’ve watched your videos for over a year or so now pretty religiously and I’ve recently started putting together what I’ve learned and started fishing with live bait (green sunfish and 6 inch bullhead). I use a a number 6 circle hook and hook them behind the dorsal fin towards the top and the bullheads through their mouth/heads. Tonight I fished in a super heavy thunderstorm from the bank of a spillway and missed literally over 12 super solid bites. Tried everything from letting them run to barely setting the hook. Thanks in advance for any help on what to do to get more hook ups. I caught a 15.9 and a 12 pound flathead last week on the same hooks.

Like the early morning short trip. Are the holes in sand from deer? Your comments indicate that turtles are okay to keep. I have seen the cleaning process and it looks way too much work for stringy tough meat. And you get so little meat from one. Please let us know how Ella is. Thanks for a great trip.

I think it’s cool you consider white bass a great bait cause I thin white perch, which I believe are closely related, is the best baitfish for cats by me but almost no one agrees. I’ve caught way more cats on white perch than bluegill and often with very quick bites too.

I havent wade fished a river since I was a kid, its the right time a year for it. Thanks for the inspiration. What or where you get those long what looks like 12 foot casting rod. I like longer rods with bobber becsue it makes for better hook sets.
He made it as a kid, even named it but I didn't hear him mention it this time out. Where I'm living we use them for surf fishing.

Spencer! I caught my first Flathead this week at the Conowingo dam in Harford County Maryland! It wasn’t a huge one, about 12lbs. The dude next to me tied into one that was every bit of 45lbs. There are also monster blue catfish in there as well as stripers, walleye, smallies, musky, all the usual suspects. Tons of snakehead in the lower Susquehanna also. Cannot wait to go back. If you’re ever out in Maryland, go to Conowingo, it would be your kind of spot for sure! Tight lines brother and thanks for the awesome video!
