i quite like how this is keeping with the style of the original game with some differences besides the futuristic DLS the original seemed to have a 70S aesthetic where this one seems to be going for a early to mid 90s look i quite like it
its perfect how they have kept the look going as it worked so well
My question is simple, can we get more than 500 prisoners or not?
Right? All I've seen are small prisons so far

In PA1 it was no problem. But now with 3d models, Im not so sure.

From other videos it seems prisoner labor for now is only laundry and kitchen. This game is just piles of downgrades compared to PA1

Although I am very hyped, I find it a great shame that in all of the trailers I've watched the guards don't seem to have any co-ordination or proper organisation.
The are many dynamics in keeping a prison population under control of course, but the main advantage the guards have over the prisoners irl is that they act as one unit, like a wall of riot-geared guards with riot shields advancing in a line. Whereas prisoners all think on the individual level, they worry mostly about themselves.
This is something I always thought PA1 was missing, you couldn't organise your guards you just spawned them in and they ran in swinging their baton willy nilly, regardless of any strategy or whether it was 1 v 100. Obviously intelligent AI like that would be difficult, but it's still something I'd like to see more.
One thing that would be very much feasible is to have guards radio for backup on their own. If an inmate is causing trouble in a cell or another room, a guard might standby in front of the room's door and call for backup, once it arrives, they enter the room together and subdue him instead of mindlessly entering the room like in PA1. Although it will be proportional, like a guard isn't going to call the entire prison force for one inmate. The CCTV guards might spot trouble and send the appropriate amount of guard to deal with it using the stand by mechanic.
Also from what I've seen in another trailer of this game, It seems guards will verbally deescalate situation before resorting to more... together means. This is not confirmed (At least not that I know of) but I saw a guard seemingly trying to talk an inmate out of his anger before he lashed out at her, forcing her to ditch the soft method.

I totally agree. Its even more difficult now everything is animated as you can really see the AI go into a 1on1 combat mode. check ( What is Career Mode in Prison Architect 2? | Dev highlight - Episode 2) att 1:48. you can see the gaurd at the bottom right being hit from behind and still focusing on the guy infront like its nothing. these types of details can really make a difference.
If you look at "Use Prison Tools to Maximize your management skills" at 4:28, a guard is trying to talk an inmate into calming down before he grabs stuff from the toilet to throw at her. (I really hope that's an option you can turn off because that's disgusting. I know that kind of stuff happens in prison IRL but still) The guard reasonably uses force when that happens.@@Chaosgames96

I enjoyed the graphics of the delivery truck. I really hope failure conditions are added with similar consequences as PA1; though I get that is difficult with the multi-level environment. Maybe instead of game over after 72 hours of bankruptcy, power gets shut down, forced guard layoffs are mandated or guards strike as there is no pay to pay them, and will only come back once their backpay is given. Just some thoughts.
What would push me over to buy the game is if there are fines for every time a prisoner died or escaped. In the last game if someone escaped or died Id be happy cause i get more money to replace them and the game felt too easy
One of the things that worry me, is that there are only so many plots that you can purchase. With the first game, i didn’t have to worry too much about space, because if you had income you could expand.
With that said, it will be interesting to see how far up we can build. That might be the new way of expansion.
Trust me... you have a lot of building space. Remember you can now build multiple stories. That changes the perception of space you can build with

It would be cool if you could build alarms, so its like the bunker lights in pa1 just that if theres a riot/lockdown ongoing the alarms will be turned on, guards that are near such an alarm light will get a better sight/aim on inmates and will react faster to fights/calls nearby

Will there be a way to feed prisoners inside of their cell without them being in isolation?
How does fire here work? Can it cause floors above to collapse?
Is there any reason to ever use low sec? I could never make enough money with them and med sec seemed just as safe as long as you didnt have shower rooms.
I used them in workshops, since they were less likely to steal the tools ;)

When repaying the loan, are you repaying only the principle or is the interest added on top of it too?
Looks like the interest accrued is added as a flat value to your Dailey expenses and the principle remains unchanged until you manually pay it 5,000 at a time as shown.

At 4:47 there is both Prison Labor, which has been explained as laundry and kitchen duty, but there's also a second technology just below that called Unqualified Labor just below that. The symbol is a bag of money and a shackle. This symbol combined with the rumor that prisoners might be able to be sent away on work crews for the city tells me we might be able to rent out our prisoners for money. I'm not sure why they're not talking about this in these videos.

How does Prison Architect 2 plan to improve on the modding scene? There are many improvements to be made over what highly limited modding capabilities we had in the original Prison Architect.
On average how much is each upgrade in xp
