Michael Dawson did not cost Spurs 8 million and he was sold in January, before Forest were relegated. The 8 million was for both him and Andy Reid and at the time, Andy Reid was considered the more valuable of the two players!
It was estimated that £5m of that transfer was for Reid
Taarabt was a great player for QPR in every season he played. Unfortunately, due to injury and move of clubs it hasn't been good.

Michael Dawson may have gone downhill a little but to say he has been rubbish for Hull is laughable. He has been our best player this season in a campaign almost certainly ending in a playoff final and he was in the team of the season. He was one of our better players last season as well after signing and was sorely missed when injured. I know he has taken a step down to play for Hull but since doing so he has been class by our standards.

It was nothing to do with his form. His ankle had to have 3 operations. He had a brilliant start to his second season, but he said after 3 operations he was still in pain while playing. So Swansea had to leave him go. And as a Swansea fan myself I was gutted when it happened

I want to bring people's attention to a player not on the list but should have been and that player is Amr Zaki. Zaki was bought to Wigan for £1.5 million and looked like goldust scoring 5 in 6 and scoring a mad bicycle kick against Liverpool. He did fizzle out near the end of the season but was still considered a good season which after he was nowhere to be seen.
He didn't turn up to training after international duty, pretty sure he plays in Qatar now or something.

I am not a spurs fan, at all, but Michael Dawson was a brilliant player for them and a solid captain. I know that it is only in the few recent years after he left that Spurs has shown european potential but when they where a midtable club he was solid for them through the years, not a standout but not a one season wonder either. Misplacement in my opinion.

It's just way of saying the have a lot of potential and their style is similar to how there's is/was. It doesn't actually mean people believe they are as good or ever will be.

Papiss Cisse one season wonder, and you use his best season at Newcastle as his one good season? Wtf he scored 22 goals in 33 matches in Bundesliga for Freiburg, then 9 in 17 the following season before he was signed by Newcastle.
Taarabt was actually really good at Milan, he started pretty much every game after debuting and both scored and assisted a fair amount. It was like he for once were combining his talent with motivation, which usually has a successful outcome. However after the season Taarabt wanted to stay, Milan wanted him to stay, but QPR didn't. And well, since that it looks like he has pretty much given up on his entire career
It's a real shame. His ego still was there, claiming he benched Kaka (after leaving Milan I think) but with the intense training in Italy, it might've served as the discipline he needed. Certainly showed flair on the field.
Sadly, knowing Milan's state now, he would've been offloaded anyway.
Michu joined 4th tear too play with his brothers and spend more time with his family. He still plays a decent level of footy
