The NBA is one of the toughest businesses to survive in even after a player has a career year. Injuries cost players entire seasons and sometimes their careers. Trades and roster moves take players from optimal situations to ones where their skills suddenly aren’t maximized. Sometimes, a player’s talent just disappears in the blink of an eye.

Jeremy Lin wasn’t a one hit wonder. He was good on the Rockets and the Knicks. Plus he got injured and that’s what derailed his career.

Dude I really wanted lin to succeed but he really didn't injuries did hurt him he was looking like he had elite role player potential at some points
@@jojo539 Not really. He was 13 and 6, with a much lower usage rate playing off-ball to Harden. He isn't a off play player, so it's also not a good spot for him.

I mean, his play was really based on the pick and roll, so he needed the ball. His game was never really as an off-ball player. So when he played with players such as Harden and Kobe, who were ball-dominant, his game just didn't translate. And then when he actually had the chance to play his game, like in Brooklyn, he did do good. But then injuries derailed his career and that's that.
For Tyreke Evans he is best when he played the point guard position however the coaching staff of sacramento ruined his potential and played him for the small forward position then he didn't maximize his potential after that
Sacramento does it again. Tyreke couldve been really nice if developed correctly. His handles, size, quickness, and finishing at the rim was elite.
Big facts , bc putting him at the 2 or 3 fucked him up cuz he’s not a shooter , he’s a tall playmaker .. it sucks that’s your first year was your best

Why do people say this. I watched that whole season, didn't see any proof of Melo saying or doing anything to stop it. He never said a bad thing about Lin or anything like that. It's just that their games didn't mesh well and Melo was obviously the better player so the team was always going to lean back in that direction. It's also a lot to do with Mike Woodson being a terrible offensive coach who didn't know how to set up an offense. A good coach would've been able to mix Lins pick and roll game with Melos isos and other plays to minimize both of their fatigue and hopefully bring the best out of everyone but it's much easier said than done. If anything blame Woodson, Melo didn't try to take anything from Lin, guarantee he wpuldve been happy if Lin turned into an all star point guard amd took pressure off him.

Yeah man i remember going to a game at the garden and i usually don't even get hyped but Lin had me going and i remember thinking to myself after he kept it going for awhile "how long will this last?" I was really hoping it was the beginning of a great career for him

It’s funny how every one year player start to become bad after a trade
Lin wasn’t a one hit wonder, he was cursed with not being given the chance. In his college days, all his stats says he was going to be a very good player, his time in New York was what he could’ve been, but every team he landed on there was already an elite pg so Lin wasn’t getting used to his full potential, plus he got injured often.

Aaron Brooks just simply caught a break, even at the time Houston fans knew Kyle Lowry was the better point guard, but Lowry can't shoot that's a problem, T-mac and Yao Ming are all defense magnets, either one of them can get their guard tons of semi open shots, Houston desprerately needed a shooter and Brooks just so happen to be a decent one. Took at what happened next, Houston traded him the very next summer, that's what you do when you realise a player is not good enough but other teams don't know yet.
