Personally I ride both and posting even in western isnât weird I mean you have posting trots in western horsemanship patterns. If the horses trot isnât so much smooth, posting will do the trick.

Hereâs a tip when canter and galloping: so when your canter move with the horse like the same move like what they are doing and when your galloping sit like sit up straight bc when your straight when get more control if your not straight the horse starts to run then u have no control so I would move with the horse and when your trotting bounce with the horse then u get the rhythm thats how u get good at riding and so when your trotting just bounce with the horse and let your reins kinda up there neck to the donât fight your reins and when your canter let your reins down itâs kinda like go wing them there head cuz if u donât they are gonna fight u so let your reins down and bounce with bubba and when your galloping sit up straight and if u donât know how to get straight scoot your butt back when itâs touching the back your straight Thatâs was some tips anyways have a good dayđ

You don't always have to post when trotting. (English riding) BUT, You must have a super nice seat to be able to! My teacher taught me to trot without posting first. Which actually made learning to post more challengingđ I also know so many people who post while riding English lol

Maybe you could look into leasing? Similar experience, usually not as expensive, and not as much of a longterm commitment depending on the lease.
