Then thereâs my grandma begging to ride my hot headed 4 year old (she had a hot headed Appy) and take him out endurance riding when the last time I took him on a trail type thing to ride he bolted with me đ Also this is so accurate. My grandma is all for the calm energy and treats
22 years later I finally have joint cusdoty of my two lease horses and if he does want to sell them we can buy them first Iâm so excited about theese horses they where trained for real westren hunting and work
I feel I should point this out as we may have young riders watching and I saw a comment supporting what the young lady did at the end of the clip. Never Ever stand behind your horse like she did at the end. Your horse maybe the best most gentle animal and you may know each other very well but anyone can still startle. I've startled our old mini several times by accident. We found out eventually she had a vision problem in one eye. I've also had my bomb proof pinto startle from the sound of an electric fence. If you get kicked it's going to be with considerable force and you're going to be seriously hurt. Although accidents are rare we still wear helmets and take precautions to minimize the chance of getting hurt. It's not worth the risk.
LoL. That's not quite how it would turn out here, but it's fun to see grandma's enjoy too. This grandma has been training horses for decades. The oldest person I've ridden with was 75 I think. It's a worthwhile thing for anyone to do
This is so true đ€Łđ€Ł. I donât give the horses many treats especially when riding. They are not dogs so they donât get awarded with food. You also donât want them to pull their head back begging. Praise is very important to the horses đâ€ïž. I love horses đ€!!! Keep up the amazing content!!! God bless yâall and everyone reading!!!
I don't give my horse treats- instead I keep a chunk of salt in my pocket, even though my boy, Spirit, has at least 3 slat blocks available, he prefers the small piece in my hand, so I just let him lick it as a reward
Basic research knowledge: food is the most powerfull and primary re-inforcer. Not using food is only for the people with old-fashioned believes regarding "training" or people not having the feel and timing to apply it sufficiently.
My horse would not stand for me to mount, and at 50, that was important to me. So I would keep putting her back to the mounting block with a mint held between my teeth as a reward for when I finally got on. The first time, it took 45 minutes. Two days later, no issues as long as that mint appeared immediately. Eventually, no mint required. There had to be something in it for Star. đ
Great video but depending on the bit type be careful giving them treats with a bit in because they can choke on the food however it looks like itâs a snaffle so it should be okay đ
The only real difference between this grandma and my grandma is that I won't let anyone give the horses treats when they have a bit on since it's bad for their teeth, and because I don't want them developing bad habits... So I'm not just strict with the horses, but also with the people that interact with them.
Itâs been YEARS since I have watched you guys! So cool to see you guys riding! I ride too! I lease a 16 hands hanovarian! Heâs an ex show horse and kinda old. I personally donât do ground mounts, 1 bc heâs kinda big, and 2 bc the girth/sinch can pinch the horse, but I ride English so, ya know, there are some differences
That is so awesome that you watched us and found us again! Was it on epic? Yes, Bella rides English and Angelina and Scarlett ride Western. That is super awesome that you have a horse and ride too! Wow, 16 hands! We are so happy you found us again and thanks so much for watching our video!
Yes, much better on the backs. However, Scarlett is pretty light and the video wouldn't be as much of a comedy type video. Thank you for watching our video.
Iâm a grandma of three and a mother of four, and I must be very different. No treats by hand for my horses, as I teach teenagers, adults and littles to ride 6 days a week. #1) had feeding treats has the potential to make horses rude and pushy towards people who donât have timing or arenât aware of body language. #2) I find that most teenagers these days arenât nearly as strong or flexible as I am (even those who are in other sports) because many of them spend way too much time on devices and eating food that isnât good for them. Most could benefit from the work of cleaning stalls and barn chores. I guess not all grandmaâs are old fuddy duddies. đ Just a side note. If that woman hasnât been on a horse in a long time, she should have never had spurs on in my opinion. Spurs are for accomplished riders to give subtle cues, not as an artificial aid that can cause a horse to perform or react beyond a riderâs abilities.
The tip whit calm energy will work on some horses But for me today i had calm energy on a horse that often bucks when riding in a outdoor arena or jumping or anything and i was gonna trot and the horse kicked Even if i had calm energy and i didnt fall But sometimes be strict not scaredđ
Lol as a grandma who rides I can relate. Except my horse really is big.. Never underestimate an old horse woman. But my knees definitely need that mounting block
You gals ain't right. The older I get, the more real this becomes. It may just be a parody on stable experiences, but it hit me in the feels. For the record, getting old & less flexible stinks! Loving horses so much, barely being able to go for a ride, not ideal. ONE day, you will think back on this video & your perspective will switch from teen to grandma. Not a great "aha moment." I have a percheron, a rocky mtn, & a QH. Just grooming my perch requires a block. Trust me when I say the bigger THEY are, the harder YOU fall is accurate. Cute, funny clips, but a painful reminder to us older folks that we ARE getting old. Just happened across your channel-not sure this old lady has anything in common with you "youngins" except a love for horses.
Actually, this was a way for us to film something funny with our grandma. We will look back on this video remembering with a great time weâve always had with her.
@The Wild Adventure Girls I am glad to hear that you enjoy time with your grandma & are making fun memories. My comment wasn't intended to offend. Just a simple older lady who can totally sympathize with gram's mounting difficulty in this video. Looks like your gram is a sweet lady with the ability to laugh at herself and the aging process. Though no one enjoys the aches & pains that seem to appear just from sleeping, ( you'll understand that part better when you get old), it reveals one thing for sure, we are still alive and able too influence others by the way we choose to live.
I need to see more horse videos. You guys do a great job! I love you guys so much đ„čđ„č
Oh yay!! Will do! We will definitely be creating more!
There horse: stands perfectly still while they get on
The horse I ride:đđđ
That made us LOL. Thanks for watching!
Love the dancing emoji lol. Horse dancing while being mounted⊠mmm not so much. Train your horse to stand still. đ
Bro, I'm putting everything horses bc they are so cute
Oh, that is awesome!
Me too
Oh man a grandma after my own heart! I just love riding horses. Once you do it's like riding a bike. You never forget.
Thank you so much and for watching!

LoL. That's not quite how it would turn out here, but it's fun to see grandma's enjoy too. This grandma has been training horses for decades. The oldest person I've ridden with was 75 I think. It's a worthwhile thing for anyone to do
I'm Grandma age. I'm short, I have always used a mounting block...No shame there. Now treats are for after the ride!
I'm with grandma love on your horse give it treats have a nice ride....
Lol, that is her favorite!
HilarousâŠ
Iâm finding the older I get, the more I bend some former rules of mineâŠitâs a Grandma thing LOL
Thank you! We had fun filming it with her, our grandma is so much fun! Thank you for watching :-)
Gramma needs spurs?!

Hi! Thank you so much for watching. This was just a comedy piece that we made with our Grandma. However, those are all great tips!
I love your channel! Could you give a new rider some tips on riding?
Thank you so much! We actually have a brand new longform video coming out this week that will have lots of great tips for new riders! :-)
When you said grandmother I thought someone much older.
Sheâll love hearing that! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
I remember teaching my gran on my mumâs side of the family to ride this is so true and relatable keep up the good work

Grandma you canât give horses treats when they have a bit in some times but not really good for them đ
I was definitely the strict one when I was a teenager
Way more easy going now
You better get that horse treats it needs energy

Lol, thank you for watching!
Super Grandma đđđ!
Yay! She's really hilarious! Thanks for watching!
I am the flexible granddaughter- I can mount a 17hh horse from the ground xD
What is Grandma doing wearing spurs??? No novice that doesn't know the proper use of spurs ever have them.
Those are bumper spurs. She had to borrow our boots :)
Sugar is very pretty. Is she a morgan horse? New sub! Love this content
Lol, itâs always the strict ones that act like they can ride, but canât, not saying all strict riders canât ride
Actually using a block is much better for the horses back even if you can mount from the ground !
Yes, we agree. :)
This is funny to me, I learned how to ride from my grandma, they farm and use their horses to move cattle around.
Lol I may be a grandmađ đ

Beautiful mare! What breed?

I also think itâs easier to mount western from the ground đ
Thank you so much for watching!

You don't need to pick on your grandma
Grandma loved being in the video. Part 2 is coming!
Im giving her treats so she likes me
The horse: Imma kill you later
That's the same thing as her husband says when he looks at her!
Bad grandaughter!
Really?
Ok true but the grandma's usually has the best relationships with horses am I right tho? -
When I was about 4 i rode my first horse and almost fell try to get off with my right leg on the saddle and left leg like a broken branch

I want my own horse...
To buy for
To halter up
To clean a stable..
To cuddle with

Where I ride you are required to mount with a mounting block
They say mounting blocks are better for the horses back. :)
is the brown horse an Andalusian?
my grandma rides my 16 hand horseđđđđ
What breed of horse is the first one?
Hi! The first one is Sugar and she is a Morgan. :)
Ya and she's got spurs on? Let's go for a ride....:)
Haha, just bumper spurs. But yeah...you don't need them on a Morgan.
