Another great thing about bluey is how set in an actual place it is. Because most shows are just in anywhere America. But it’s not just that bluey is in Australia but it is in an exact place. It just makes bluey feel like an actual place I can go to
To get even more specific, mostly the north west suburbs of Brissy.
The Simpsons really hung a lampshade on that, too.
Family Guy for that matter - Quahog is Providence, RI but then they state in-series that it's a metafictional LA-based production and the house used for exterior establishing shots of the Griffiths' home is in Burbank. Presumably the Hollywood Hills and/or the Atlantic Ocean (meta) are to the cameraman's back...

I had helped a poor lady at work who was visiting from upstate, it was summertime in Texas and this poor thing was pouring sweat. I felt so bad for her, I never realized how used we’ve gotten to the heat down here

Hey margie, in the bluey episode "dragon" when bluey casts the spell on bandit and he says, that's bucky dunston, about his bully, he also says, I think he's a real estate agent now. In the sign, their real estate agent is bucky!
Pretty certain thats right. I think it's sort of meant to show people dont stay the same and you can move on.
Theres some really cool subtext with the voice actor too. One of the things about the episode is that there really aren't any endings and that things that appear good or bad aren't neccesarily 100% that. With Rove McManaus he was a super successful comedian, tv show host and producer who fell in love with a beautiful soap star - happy ending - by the time thye get married she has already been given a fatal breast cancer diagnosis - sad ending - after she passed he ended up marrying another actress and they had a daughter - happy ending. His life is almost a demonstration of how if you pause at any point you can say it's a happy or sad endign but in truth nothing really ends.
Now you have me wondering where the water dogs were moving from not to know what Queensland summers were, I thought all Australian summers are hot?

We had multiple days of 40+ here in Western Australia this past summer. Not all summers are created equal. Though I do have to say, the lower humidity does make it easier to manage.

Ohhhh yes I for places to visit: Cairns that’s the best place to visit not only the Great Barrier Reef, but also the Tropical Rainforests which is home to the Cassowary! Also Gold Coast for beaches (that’s where Nana lives in Bluey), Brisbane of course, Sydney is the typical place to visit, buuuttt there’s also the Pink Lake in Australia which is really cool!

I can't recall the exact line (it's 2am Melb Oz & I can't sleep) but I thought Chilli referenced to QLD road rules.. Aussie ref 👍

One reason the Watermelon thing started. You cant bring bottles or cans of alcohol into the Cricket but you can take your own food - say a nice piece of fruit. Watermelon is remarkably Vodka absorbent. A Vodka infused Watermelon has a large helmet shaped piece of residue. Someone who has eaten a Vodka infused Watermelon will look at said helmet shaped residue and wonder could it in fact be used as a helmet. The Watermelon Helmet is born moments later.
I'm not joking - cans and bottles were banned not because they didn't want people drinking it's because they can hurt when thrown. So could a watermelon of course but I dont think anyone has ever thrown a full one at anyone at the Cricket. Most people bringing Watermelon in aren't pouring a bottle of Vodka in through a small hole but it's pretty much certain that is the starting point.
As for the Helmet itself. If you actually use a Watermelon that is still wet inside you will pretty much end up with a pretty wet sticky head. It offers little real sun protection and is a bit heavy and uncomfortable. People who dress up in silly costumes at sports events care little for such matters.

Arms outstretched to the sides often over the shoulders of the person next to you a bit like traditional Greek dances. I think we need to accept that the Bipedal Doggos in Bluey have a somewhat differentt skeletal structure to normal doggos. Making a real dog do that dance would be animal cruelty akin to locking someone in a room with bored Muffin for an hour.

I have seen a news stating that it has gotten so hot that someone was making an omelette outside just by putting the pan on the tiles, the road pavement is also melting. But worst of all, people are dying from heat strokes around the country. I'm not even exaggerating.
This just in, because of the melting road, accidents are becoming alarmingly frequent.

Birdsville in the south west of Queensland has reached 49.5c. But truth be told the vast majority of Queenslanders don't really notice as Birdsville is so far from where most Queenslanders live. Guess it's easier to notice these high temperatures in Texas which two and a half times smaller than Queensland.

As a Brit I has no idea what the eagle dance was. I just assumed they were dancing like… well birds! But also as a Brit I did know about the watermelon, we are cricket fans in our country too and there’s always that rivalry between the countries.

dude whenever Queensland is called the sunshine state I always get a little bit unreasonably annoyed, like WA gets more sun then QLD, it has more beaches and get sunsets over the water and it gets hotter too like why does QLD get to have this cool name that isn't even true and WA is just known as that state with the capital super far away from the rest of Australia
