    I always found it so interesting how with his empress....he let her literally get away with murder but held Ruyi to a ridiculous standard. Literally, anyone could accuse her of something and he went right to punishing her to save face.

      The first empress had a power family which supported the emperor. The emperor needed the support so he looked to the other side. Besides, the empress was good at pretending to be a good wife and empress, he used other jealous consorts and concubines to do the bad things to keep her hands clean. We are watching everything going on but the people in the show are not.

    A'rou got on my nerves the minute I saw she use to treat Suoxin when they were both maids. Ruyi was about to hook her up with a good marriage even though A'rou didn't know when to shut it up.

    Ruyi's look at 9:03 will always break my heart. Ruyi just wants to know why he won't protect her. The Emperor always tells Ruyi to forgive and to move on--but he has never fought her when she needed him. Ruyi gives him grace, telling him that she understood his position but you can see that he's hurting her. Ugh, I love this show too much lol

      I agree. It sucks a lot.
      However, Yanwan was far more subtle than A'Rou though so I'm assuming this is the reason why no one snuffed her out until the very end. She was so subtle that even the most astute of players(the Emperor)couldn't snuff her out. The again, it's possible that he wasn't even paying attention.
      Yanwan played on people's weaknesses and insecurities, riling them up and then letting them loose to wreak their own havoc.
      A'Rou was greedy and selfish. She was also very unsubtle as she had let the "power" the Emperor gave her go to her head.

    Im starting to doubt the emperor, I guess He already knew that the Empress and Noble Consort Hui involved in framing Ruyi. But if he revealed about it. The Harem will be in chaos. In order to have a good harmony the Emperor kept it and investigate further and strike when the time comes.

    • @chiamcp4573
      @chiamcp4573 Před 4 lety +20

      Yes, if the emperor reveal it. Not only harem in chaos, it will affect the royal court too. As the empress came from powerful clan and Noble Consort Hui's father contribute a lot to the royal court. Plus the emperor doesn't want all these things tarnish Aisin Gioro's reputation.

    • @deviskitchencorner
      @deviskitchencorner Před 3 lety +14

      Yes, he knew it could be the empress , noble consort etc. But he couldn't do anything about it because He's the type of person who only cares about appearance, not to mention He needs the Fuca Clan and Gao in the court. The exact same thing why Consort Jia is always forgiven. She has a strong back up. Ura Nara Clan isn't as strong as it used to be, and the late Empress (ruyi's aunt) also committed a huge crime back then, so really Ruyi has no one else in court.

      Her father, brother and nephew (meaning the men of her generation, the generation before her and after her) would be sentenced to death. This to a patrilineal society is akin to familial extermination, since they will not be able to carry down the family name nor worship their ancestors. The other members of the family would also typically be made into slaves, further disgracing their descendants.
