- Corendon Trip Report flying onboard one Corendon Boeing 737 from Tenerife to Cologne on a beautiful winter afternoon.
My first time flying with Corendon Airlines and, honestly, I'm not looking forward to flying again with them in the short term. The experience was poor, but just because I was enough lucky to get 3 seats for me, despite the flight being around 70% full. Otherwise, the experience would be really bad.
The onboard experience is extremely outdated. The cabin, in the most apathetic white, is not the best impression when you board. All the msgs given by the crew were pre-recorded, which is totally fine, except if they sound like they were recorded 25 years ago.
The onboard service looked good at the beginning but when the moment of ordering something came, it turned out to be at the same level as all the other things discussed before: almost nothing that was on the menu was available for purchase. Payments by card were not accepted.
"Your holiday airline", that's Corendon's slogan. I'm sorry, but Corendon doesn't have any single aspect of what a Holiday Airline should have. Holiday airlines are Jet2, TUI or Condor. They make you feel you are on holiday from the very first step into the airport check-in area. Actually, already when you book the ticket on the website they give kind of that sensation. Corendon doesn't. At all. No way. At any moment.

Hello OnBoardHD when I flew with Corendon they were fabulous super friendly and tried their best to make a good impression I'm sorry that you didn't have a good flight with them
'Avoid' is a bit harsh because you got a bad meal. If I avoided every low cost carrier because they served awful food I wouldn't be flying anywhere!
The catering was inexistent for a 4h+ flight, and the few meals/snacks that were available were really low quality (the meal I had was terrible).
The plane was dirty on the floor and, personally, the cabin is ugly (but that's just a subjective opinion).
The PA msgs sounded with the worst quality I've ever heard.
The crew appeared 2 times during the flight. In an era where every airline only accepts card payments, they only accept cash payments (which led some pax to not be able to purchase things).
All together makes it a bad experience for me. Especially when the airline slogan is "Your holiday airline". They don't have, at least in this flight, anything close to a holiday airline.
@@OnBoardHD The problem with Corendon airlines europe is that they only load the catering in Germany or Turkey. If the flight from Cologne to Tenerife was very busy, they can't offer you everything, that's why they are saying the catering is limited.
Maybe the plane is a little bit "dirty" because on some destinations they do not have cleaning (not available, not enough time between rotations), so the cabin crews have to do it.

extremely poor experience? why? because of the bad food? flying nowadays is all about the food what u get during the flight. what do u expect from a low cost charter airline? always bring your own food with u, thats better and cheaper. of course the plane is an old one and not the modernest one. its like when u complain about ryanair, u get what u paid for. the main point from all the reviews u see online nobody thinks about getting safe from one destination to another 👎

Sadly because low prices, today flight stupid people ( not The owner of this video) years ago flight was for rich people or bussines people.The people today wants premium service paying 30 euro jajajajaja and claim a lot!!!!
Other than the (lack of) availability and quality of the food service, I'm not sure what would warrant an "avoid" label for this airline. Sure, there may be better options out there, but I wouldn't steer clear of them unless they gaslit me about something or were unacceptably rude.

That was my experience with Corendon in this flight.
You've captured some lovely views from your window, especially of the sky's changing colours. I would say that the service on most legacy carriers in North America isn't much better than what you experienced on Corendon. Yes, most of these legacy carriers still offer you a free soft drink and packet of pretzels or cookies, but their planes are just as old and otherwise their service is about the same as Corendon.
Yeah, I know how the service in the US is at the moment.
I hope it will improve now that the passenger numbers are up again :)

As far as I know, airline companies get their food service from a contracted company where they land. Maybe the company in Tenerife is making the food bad because I live in Turkey and I flew with Corendon airline in Turkey and the food there was good, maybe it was good for me. Have a nice flight🙂✈️

I flew Corendon airlines just a few days ago on their b737 on a flight from Dalaman, Turkey to London Gatwick which lasted around the same length as yours about 4hrs 15 mins and honestly, watching your video, got me a little worried about my flight, but actually it was really good service and overall flight that had met my expectations. Maybe the flight got delayed about 15-30 mins, but that wasn't their fault as the whole UK air traffic control system failed for quite a few days and lucky for me, my flight wasn't one of those 500 flights that got cancelled that day. Well done, Corendon!

Thanks for the video. To be honest, although I've never flown with Corendon, from what I could see on the video they were pretty much on a par with most (not all) short-haul airlines I've used these days. Lots of onboard announcements (which I find really annoying), bland and unappetising food (on some airlines no food at all - agree with you, that meat dish they served you looked awful), and just plain stressful. I used to love the whole flying experience including at the airports, but have been really turned off it by more recent experiences. To get anything like really good cabin service one has to pay extra (premium, business, first). If one accepts them as a 'bus service' to get from A to B quickly, they're just about bearable. But if I can, I much prefer to travel by train/ship these days.
I think the point is that on the video I tried to be as polite as possible with my opinion... and that led to the title don't matching the exact content of the video. Here you can find the main bullet points so you can understand the title:

I really cannot understand, why so much reviewers do all this bashing to the Corendon airlines. This is just a simple airline that combines low cost carriage adapted to holiday makers. Of course you cannot expect the best, but also not the worst. Compared to other low cost or charter airlines, they offer really good conditions for their price level. And in case of flight disruptions, they do better service than almost every other airline can do.
Its a great airline i took it 5 or 6 times to go to turkey everything was fine , if you base your trip on the food even the big airlines serves you a shitty meal if you are lucky to get it for free lol as long its safe and cheep its good for me

Es una aerolínea humilde y honesta, lo importante es el cuidado de los pilotos y que el avión este 100% operativo.
Este BOEING 737 sonaba genial.
Si un pasajero viaja por la comida que tome LUFTHANSA o AIRFRANCE KLM, si es por ahorrar , un boleto los cost en estás aerolíneas , por algún lado te recortarán para hacer tu boleto más barato.
El video lo comparó a mi experiencia en FLY BONDIE de Argentina .🤔
El tema es que Corendon no es una aerolínea low-cost. Incluso si lo fuese, ello no justifica el servicio ofrecido. Wizzair o Ryanair son aerolíneas 100% low-cost y su servicio es mucho mejor.

Nowadays I only fly Ryanair but I wish I could fly more airlines around europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia, it would be a great experience flying around the world but there is some cons about it too, like this flight was very poor, but atleast u got a new experience flying with corendon! Great report btw!

Nice trip report👍!As someone flying Corendon really frequently,I can actually tell that this the “best” cabin experience you can get on a Corendon flight.The Turkish sector of Corendon has aircrafts that are almost 22 years old😬which also does not feature these new slimline seat.
For the food,the brand they’re using is quite low quality.I tried the köfte before,and it was terrible as well.(and the thing you ate is definitely nowhere near a döner at all😂)
But all in all,I still use them quite often since their prices are unnegligibly cheaper than other Turkish holiday operators like Sunexpress or Pegasus!
Wow. Other were telling me that the Turkish division of Corendon was much better...

Debido a un mal servicio con Easyjet en Octubre del 2021 empeze a volar con Corendon. La ruta ha sido Tenerife sur a Basel y en todos los vuelos (hasta ahora 4 idas y vueltas) el personal a sido amable y atento. Personalmente la comida me la llevo yo y la bebida la suelo comprar o en el aeropuerto, o en el propio avión. El próximo vuelo con ellos, será pronto seguro!

He recibido bastantes comentarios de gente que piensa que tengo algo personal contra la aerolínea... nada más lejos de la realidad.

Looks the same as Ryanair, easyJet, Air Europa, Iberia Express, Iberojet. Nothing shocking or untoward. Just another ULCC. Don't know the price you paid but it was probably in line with other ULCC. You get what you pay for. Really nothing here to see.
Ryanair is good they don’t charge a fortune on food,seating and bags and their flights are cheap sometimes

Seeing this since I’m going to Antalya in like 2 weeks I have no idea how I should expect flying with corendon
I have now flown once on a Corendon Airlines B38M and the Aircraft very Clean, only snacks were served during a 3h 30min flight but they went multiple times trough the Cabin. Sadly we were Delayed by 3 Hours for an unknown reason and we had to Go-Around.

Not great? Agreed. To be avoided? Come on now, it got you where you had to go without a hassle, you got your bags, you got a seat, you arrived on your destination. Really that’s all an airline should provide, all other things are extra and in addition to that it’s a charter flight, you shouldn’t really expect anything from such a cheap airline

When I did fly the last time to Tenerife was on a Caravelle with SAT from cologne to Tenerife we stayed at the Hotel Bonanza Canarife in La Paz .everything was there Spantax CV990 ,DC8 ,Aviaco DC9 and DC8 ,Dan Air 727 Iberia DC9 and 727 and so on today you see next gen 737 and Bus nothing more

It was very far from being cheap and on the opposite site of being perfect. :)

Yo en la vida había escuchado a esta aerolínea, de hecho las llamadas aerolíneas vacacionales al igual que las Low Cost dan pésimo servicio (mi punto de vista, que muy probablemente no comparta mucha gente) aunque quizá para algunas personas sea atractivo pagar menos sobre todo en unas vacaciones, creo que en general el servicio de las aerolíneas a nivel mundial ha decaído enormemente, la pandemia solo lo ha sido el pretexto, pero la culpa la tenemos los consumidores por quejarnos (en las redes) sin embargo seguimos utilizando los servicios de muchas de estas compañías, quizá las que mejor servicio dan en términos generales y en algunas rutas sean las Asiáticas, hasta las porciones de comida son más generosas con estás, gracias por el vídeo y mostrar tu experiencia.
Yo la verdad es que nunca he tenido una mala experinecia en una low-cost. Evidentemente, no puedes esperar el servicio de Emirates o Qatar en una low-cost, (Corendon, por ejemplo) hace creerte que es una low-cost, ofrece un servicio pésimo, y aún por encima el precio del billete ni es low-cost ni es nada.
De todos modos, aunque fuese low-cost, nada justifica un mal servicio.

Muy buen video (como todos :) ), te quiero dar una sugerencia, en el video se hacen demasiado largas los msg de la aerolinea y preferiria que los acortaras más, estavamos en España, Francia y en app, y estaba aún el mismo msg 😂.

Very unusual to come across an airline that acceptes *only cash* these days! Who is still carrying cash, especially after the pandemic where so many things went contactless??
And you have ones like BA who don’t accept cash, you can’t win either way.
That was just one of the cons on this flight...
Apparently, I didn't express myself well in the video and I got some comments from people saying that they don't understand the title while watching the video.
These are the bullet points that explain it (I think I will pin them in a comment):

I know people who have flown with the Turkish Corendon Airlines and they weren't that bad (cabin was also different and more modern).
I would say they aren't more different than other charter airlines like SunExpress or Jet2

there are some very irresponsible comments in this video. All of them having exactly one same point: the uploader ask us to avoid this airline only because he thinks the food is poor. On the other hand, after watching this video I believe there's enough information to explain why we should avoid it: service, equipment, space and more. As well most of the comments here are talking about their poor experience with this airline. Clearly this airline is not doing a good job, and I very much hate these type of stupid comments trying to mislead others.

Corendon is like Spirit Airlines or Easyjet/Ryanair, a low fares Holidayairlines... i flew also with them to Antalya...
I flew more than 400 times with Ryanair, around 20 with EasyJet and 40 with Wizzair. The experience with any of them is far better than the one in this flight. Also the price is better.
I always think that when flying especially with budget Airlines as long has they get me to my destination and back home again safely

Los pasajeros en los tiempos pasados fueron los causantes del comienzo de cobro por cualquier cosa sobre catering de comida a por tanta queja, esto si, esto no, bien feo, mal menù etc etc y no se tenìa que pagar aparte , por lo menos acà en Colombia. Razòn le doy a aerolìneas, y con subida de precios Petròleo, màs apretada la cosa. El aviòn, muy normalito para ese recorrido, eso si, limpio y bien presentado. Falla total de servicio, no tener conexiones y cargadores para dispositivos, pero con semejante paisaje exterior, mirar tablet o celular, era perderse la belleza del trayecto. Buen video y personalmente, registro de Islas Canarias, fantàstico, verdadero paraìso. Hermosas. Saludo, hermano.

Corendon have just started flying fom my local airport BHX (Birmingham) to Antalya in Turkey and I thought they were a Turkish airline ? However I noticed this aircraft has a Maltese registration. Are they turning into a new Ryanair (Malta Air, lol) Yeah I agree with Lucas, "Avoid" if you don't want food poisoning, that food looked disgusting. ;-(
This was Corendon Europe. The truth is that with any low-cost in Europe I had a much better experience than in this flight. Plus, Corendon is not low-cost (which wouldn't justify anything).
Anyway, just a flight to forget about and jump into the next one that will be brilliant! :)

You get what you paid for. At least you got a can of soda, which you don’t get at some major carriers unless you ask. But my big pet peeve here is the loudness and frequent announcements over the loudspeaker. Like .. can you even have a pleasant quiet flight with cabin crew constantly talking??
The food was not included on the ticket (neither de Coke).

I honestly don't see any reason to avoid them except for the "Döner" you got served (I'm sorry for that XD). All in all its a basic experience here. Nothing really special. Too bad that you didn't catch the Sky Interior. The announcements are just fine. Honestly, Jet2 is far better being a holiday airline.

Did you book a holiday with them or just a seperate ticket? Corendon operates in the Netherlands as well. They are extremely cheap with package deals. Nice video (as always)!

Good trip report you had there, i do totally know that it IS a bad airline and doesn't say anywhere that it is low-cost. Flew this airline only 1 time and didn't buy anything onboard based on other trip reports. Didn't even eat the entire meal because it was DISGUSTING. Rather fly with Spirit or Ryanair

When looking for a flight to the Canary Islands, I always rule out Corendon. It's not the passengers that are important, but the cabin crew.
I always want to try new airlines... in this case the experinece wasn't good.
I think I'll give them another try in the future :)

So let me have this clear. You traveled with a low cost airline and expected 5 star service? You were transported safely from A to B but the meal did not taste or look good, so therefore the whole journey was terrible. I say that you had a bit high expectations for this airline and that you thought you were traveling in business class with the Emirates. My recommendation is that you edit your heading,because its not true that this was a poor experience other than the meal that you didnt like...

I am flabagasted, it's a low cost airline, I have flown with less legroom than this flight. Yes the food doesn't look great but its your choice whether to book or eat it. A four hour flight isn't that long and many airports do decent meal deals if you think you don't like what they may offer. Love watching your channel but sometimes things aren't what the tin says and this is one of those times. I am an older person and I still like to use cash we aren't all technο savy and like the ways, we were bought up.
The point is that Corendon is not a low-cost airline. I didn't see it anywhere in their website, but even if they would say it... you know, you can say whatever you want (as an airline in this case) but you are what you are. Corendon prices are not low-cost ones.
To be honest, there are 2 just 2 low-cost airlines in Europe: Wizzair and Ryanair. Then you have "smart-price airlines" (or semi-low-cost) where you can find EasyJet or Vueling. And that's all =/
