After a competitive year in 1986 with a win in the Sebring 12 hours. For 1987, the Bob Akin owned Porsche 962 sported a new Black and Red paint scheme with Yokohama having more of a presence on the car. The Coke/Yokohama 962 raced in the 1987 Daytona 24 hours, Miami, and 12 hrs of Sebring. Akin started his racing career in 1957 and ended it in 1987 with this very car

The Hasegawa Porsche 962 kit is a very basic curbside kit. I prefer to use the Hasegawa over the Tamiya because of the radiator inlets are larger on the Hasegawa 962 which is more IMSA friendly. I also prefer to have the clear parts separate from the body. The greenhouse of the Hasegawa is a bit on the small side, but it still looks great build up.
For a comprehensive step-by-step tutorial on how to build with this conversion kit, see this blog post I did of the 1986 Version of this car, different paint scheme but same parts.

I've always liked this Livery!!! Excellent job on the conversion. Nice Build!!! Great Job!!!!
Thank you. This red and black scheme really grew on me as I did more research. Also, this being the last Coke 962 is significant.
Nice work on the modifications, paint work came out great 👍🏻
Thanks, I really had to scrabble to get this one done last week.
These videos are so helpful- i always pick up something of value. Thank You!!
Thats awesome! Im going to keep on improving on the tips with more captioning. Im still trying to get a hang of doing all the editing, but I'm getting better the more I do. Glad these videos are providing value.
Great Job 👍
Gorgeous build! That car pops in more ways than one. You did misspell description in the link graphics, but that doesn't take away from how pretty that came out..
Thank you. The black and red goes together, well.
Yeah im famous for misspelling 😬
Man what an absolutely beautiful Porsche build!!.. You definitely went all out!!
Love that paint job!!
Sweet looking kit!!
That is a beautiful model
Thank you. 1987 was the last year Akin ran the Coke Porsche 962.
Well done mate, improvement with every video!
Thank you. In two weeks I'm going to really improve the videos. Im still learning
Very cool! Even when you primed it you couldn't see where you had made changes. 👍
Thanks. Primer helps a lot in finding any issues. Its the most important step in painting a car. Preparation.
@@ClassicRacingResins totally! You really did a good job!
Thanks! Expect a new video each week.
@@ClassicRacingResins nice! Mine are out quite frequently as I do a range of features! 👍
Great build, just watch the recycling.
The red and black scheme really grew on me as I did more research on this car.
Lol yeah, I knew it was probably too soon to do another 962, but I needed to get it out of the way for business related purposes.
Very nice work. However, spraying should neither start nor end on the body. There must be a running in and running out distances.
Lol I was holding the camera, I didn't have any room to put the camera 😅
What is that name that is written next to the gas cap, on both sides, in beautiful writing?
Harbor Industries
I have a CZcams channel as well...
