- to stay calm under pressure
It is so important to be able to manage your emotional state.
Top sports athletes do this, and the best of the best seem to have ice in their veins during those high-pressure moments.
So what is the story here? why do people like Lionel Messi Football, Tiger woods golf at the top of his powers, Michael Jordan basketball, and so many more just performed to the top of their skill as if there was no pressure?
The answer is that they have a structure of thinking that supports keeping their body as relaxed as possible free of mental tension, whilst still being fully switched on. Allowing their subconscious mind and all their training to come out of their mind and body seemingly with ease.
They make top professional athletes look like armatures.
They talk to themselves in a way that allows them to be calm, to drop the heart rate, whilst still being heightened in their focus and match awareness.
Allowing them to make the right decision at the right moment.
We have this inside us to.
But often our brains take us to the negative, causing the opposite feeling in the body. The result of this tension is that we perform at a lower level, we hold back, and do not allow us to move forward in life.
So let us become aware of our self talk. And then shift it to what we want instead.
