    Loved the goodnatured banter in this, you can really tell they've been friends for such a long time lmao

    I'm with Ben on this, especially given how expensive GW models are, I expect atleast a whole thing

      I'm with Tom, the space marine models should walk around and talk to each other and the tanks should actually fire and drive around

    • @JackPorter
      @JackPorter Před měsícem +11

      i'd be with tom if it was a model that stood on a shelf and you never ever saw the bottom, but it's something you pick up, play with and show off and your model is just gonna look weird and jank and your friends are going to point and laugh at you for having an unfinished model.

      @@JackPorter Exactly, just spend the extra factions of a penny to add that flat bit of plastic, next to no bother and looks so much better. When I read the title I expected a small hole, but god damn, it's basictally the entire bottom/stomach

      @@elevenone Interestingly I like a level of posibility with my models, so when I can I don't glue. Take stuff like being about to move the turrets and such, which is why I am so annoyed at Tamiya when they changed their rubber tracks, for their tanks, into solid plastic parts

      It also effects kit bashing and if you want to position the tank on a diorama type thing where it's at an angle the hole can be seen.
      It's just a scummy move by GW, they charge so much, and now don't even give you the whole model

    I don’t understand why they don’t have a piece of paper with the name of the unit on it at this point.

    You spend all that time and money to get a tattoo only to find out it means "from space" in its language of origin

    The argument about plastic tanks got kind of philosophical lol.

    I think ben and tom's realization at the end that Ben got more upset that Tom didn't care is the realest part of all of this. I own a Rogal Dorn, nobody who actually plays gives a shit, I know others who bought a Rogal Dorn and NONE of them bothered with covering up that hole. Schrodinger's cat but it's a hole underneath a plastic toy

    On one hand, they're charging tge same price of less material, but on the other hand:

    Stuff your dice & little plastic men in there!

    Kind of par for the course for companies that are full concerned with return on investment. The idea is, if I sell half as much at three times the revenue, it is a win. In this case, reduce cost is substitute for revenue. By selling the model for the same price and reduced cost to the company this bumps up profit margin, buffing the stock price as return on investment grows and rewarding the share holder (in other words, they do not pass the savings on to you.)
    I have no doubt that GW is making more revenue then ever before, but I also think the game itself is less played then ever before. Most people you think love Warhammer, only love the media, not the modeling and more off that cannot afford the models, like literally afford to play. GW as a stock price company, does better, the less number of people play. Why do you think, "niche," gets thrown around? It lets GW decrease supply as they claim that the game has less natural demand (weird right since everyone says they are doing so well), which then does make the game less in demand which allows for higher price over quantity. Been on that train for decades now, cannot imagine world issues have helped the player, but companies sure did get a big profit boost. Working out now how GW might just be selling very little?
    It is sad, because the game could be leagues more popular as a game, but it is just not stock holder friendly. I know in the UK you guys might see some playing, but again, here in CO, USA. I have less table top game stores than in 97 and even less that offer a place to play anything table top. Warhammer is dying, not growing here.

      I literally spec out armies in Battle Scribe and then check how much it would cost to buy the physical army for fun. Looking at the price tag always keeps me from actually playing.
