    Ronnie makes it look easy, Stephen makes it look deliberate like he meant every shot he is an incredible player.

    Pause at 2:54 and look at how close together most of the reds still are.
    From this point on, not a single object ball moves unless it is being potted. It just goes to show how inch-perfect his positional play was to finish perfectly on those reds and thread back between them for the black every time, without ever even contacting another ball. In my opinion, that makes this one of the best maximums ever achieved.

    Bittersweet. He looked to be pulling his game together for this tournament after a difficult season. I liked the aggressive approach here, especially that early red to the left middle with the cue ball at the baulk line.

      @@simoncarlisle7368 Thanks. I am born and raised in New Jersey and stumbled across darts in 2013 and snooker in 2016. I follow darts more than snooker. At least people here in the USA are starting to know what professional darts are because of the spectacle (and Fallon Sherrock), but most regular people have ZERO idea what snooker even is, yet alone the rules.
      The funny thing is that two people who didn't know what snooker was heard of Ronnie O'Sullivan because they overheard a conversation about "some weird pool game" with his name and the word "genius" attached to it!

    Just read his interview about how bad he felt in 2012 around this time and was going to retire.
    Says he hit only 6 shots really properly in this break.
    So was watching it to see if I could notice anything.. what I did notice that many of the pots struggled into the pockets and nearly missed many of them.
    He said something about willing to give pint of blood for each pot.. he was struggling so much with the confidence.

  • @kevinscott1697
    @kevinscott1697 Před 4 lety

    Hendry never lost his ability to make big breaks or the odd 147 but the gradual decline had been happening for years, it was 13 years since he’d won his seventh world title and 7 years since he’d won anything and by 2012 he’d lost the confidence and momentum needed to carry it through to win tournaments, he wasn’t even reaching semi finals and finals anymore and just playing on for the sake of it wasn’t for him, but this wasn’t a bad way to go out, even if his quarter final with Stephen Maguire was a poor defeat.
