Ronnie makes it look easy, Stephen makes it look deliberate like he meant every shot he is an incredible player.
Yeah, that’s true. Ronnie hardly struggles positional play but some shots where Stephen runs out of position he has to grind out with all his concentration, determination and commitment
agreed, he is a machine when he is in the zone. extraordinary focus.
Pause at 2:54 and look at how close together most of the reds still are.
From this point on, not a single object ball moves unless it is being potted. It just goes to show how inch-perfect his positional play was to finish perfectly on those reds and thread back between them for the black every time, without ever even contacting another ball. In my opinion, that makes this one of the best maximums ever achieved.
He did say he only played 6 shots the way he intended. For me, Hendry is the GOAT
King of snooker. 7 WORLD TITLE'S.
Bittersweet. He looked to be pulling his game together for this tournament after a difficult season. I liked the aggressive approach here, especially that early red to the left middle with the cue ball at the baulk line.
You can't make a 147 if Neil Robertson isn't on the other side
I take it Neil Robertson is the James Wade of snooker?
@@gynandroidhead haha yes he is, he's been in the room if 10 147's
@@simoncarlisle7368 Thanks. I am born and raised in New Jersey and stumbled across darts in 2013 and snooker in 2016. I follow darts more than snooker. At least people here in the USA are starting to know what professional darts are because of the spectacle (and Fallon Sherrock), but most regular people have ZERO idea what snooker even is, yet alone the rules.
The funny thing is that two people who didn't know what snooker was heard of Ronnie O'Sullivan because they overheard a conversation about "some weird pool game" with his name and the word "genius" attached to it!
Bruhh so true ..😂😂
You can't make a 9 darter without James Wade.
@@simoncarlisle7368 He got his own one this year.
My favourite player of all time, so flawless WOW
King of Crucible
For the first 3-4 reds, the positional play was a bit clumsy but from then on, God mode on.
Sorry mate, he began god mode from the first red 😊
It's interesting to see that Neil Robertson is always on the other side in this moments. In 2008 in the 9th maximum by Ronnie he was again in the other side
Yeah, I saw him on some 4-5 occasions already :D I find it funny as well
he is has a 147 kit. he can teleport to where 147 happens
The same happened to Tony Drago back in the 90s. He sat during the James Wattana 147 at British Open and then during the second ever Crucible 147 made by Jimmy White
Its like James Wade in darts )almost). If you play him the odds of a 9 darter increase lol
He is learning and trying to master it...it will come my friend...dont worry...
As good as Ronnie is, Stephen Hendry is still my hero!!
GOAT, in his prime the opposition feared him.
He is a legend.
Just read his interview about how bad he felt in 2012 around this time and was going to retire.
Says he hit only 6 shots really properly in this break.
So was watching it to see if I could notice anything.. what I did notice that many of the pots struggled into the pockets and nearly missed many of them.
He said something about willing to give pint of blood for each pot.. he was struggling so much with the confidence.
This was ridiculously supreme
Omg so many difficult shots
The greatest player ever to pick up a cue. He truly was the "Rolls Royce of Snooker".
what a load of crap
@@qui-gonjinn7179 Out of interest, what are you basing that assessment on? I arrived at that conclusion via the fact that he won the World Championship seven times, a record in the modern era, and was world number one for a record nine seasons.
@@leeadams995 I thought the Rolls-Royce title was given to Stephen Lee
@Arran Vid that was actually the "Roy's Rolls" title. Slightly different thing altogether.
King of the Crucible.
well said Jivan, couldnt agree more. Stephen is one of a kind!
Love 10:08 the joy on Stephen's face as he has a joke with Ken about Ken missing the last black for his 147. Brilliant.
Flashback mode engaged... Wow!..
He surely has to be the G.O.A.T
Saad Khawaja in his prime I don’t think Ronnie would have beaten him. Shame he couldn’t as good in his later years. Ronnie has always played constantly good, until know. He is also has one of the longest career in snooker. He is also better at positioning the ball. I would say Stephen was the better player in his prime out of the both, but Ronnie has to be the goat.
Cleanest 147 ever! So clean! He is a true master of cue ball control
No it's not, idiot. Hendry was out of position multiple times
@@JohnSmith-su3ze Rude
@@aspiknf Maybe rude, but it's true
Hendry's cue ball was all over the place. The guy was a mess
@@JohnSmith-su3ze I agree with you :-)
Legends!
$50k bonus...way more than any pool player makes in a regular tourney
Top class stuff.
I vividly recall the following frame, when he was the one to break, landing his hands to take the shot he was intentionally shaking them to signify to the audience that he was still shook and excited from the 147! Sadly can't find this on a video...
Just read hendrys book, great read. He found it easier to finally retire as he was offered a 10 year contract to promote Chinese 8 ball
What the book?
Well I won't spoil it for you :)
Perfect Game
10:10 is where he's at...
Niel Robertson. Helping people with their 147's...quality guy him...
There’s never been anyone even close to him off the black spot.
This is a demonstration of deflation. O'Sullivan received a bonus of 147,000 pounds for his first maximum. Hendry received 40,000 for this one.
Hendry the great , an amazing player
Hendry never lost his ability to make big breaks or the odd 147 but the gradual decline had been happening for years, it was 13 years since he’d won his seventh world title and 7 years since he’d won anything and by 2012 he’d lost the confidence and momentum needed to carry it through to win tournaments, he wasn’t even reaching semi finals and finals anymore and just playing on for the sake of it wasn’t for him, but this wasn’t a bad way to go out, even if his quarter final with Stephen Maguire was a poor defeat.
The master
Nice break
Jivan Scarano Good spot, very true.
Underbart!
Toughest competitor ever 👍
สุดยอด
สุดยอดจริงๆ แต่ล๊ลูกยากๆทั้งนั้น
Bank shots are difficult . Not straight cuts !
I wonder how good Hendry would have been today if he carried on and got his motivation back at some point like Williams and Higgins did.
How come he stopped winning everything
@@bowjana8128 He says once he broke all the records he lost motivation, didn't practice enough and focussed more on his young family
Who is the lassie Ref?
yeah i asked that on a few of her vids, no reply. she got a fine rig on her that's for sure
Zhu Ying.
Asain bird, better at counting....
7:16 so much concentration...his eyes are about to pop, his brain is about to explode...his face is on fire...
Great player though...
Это самый сложный 147 в истории крусибла
his game has gone from hero to zero
I like st.and Higgins.and 147.best.
Stephen Hendry returns to his 2 year old form. Just like King Of The North and Captain Crunch returned to their 2 year old form.
But Ronnie is the best in the world
Does not come near the class of Ronnie O Sullivan
You don’t come near the class of anyone.
Behave yourself, "Al".
Funny you should use the word 'class' there.
True he surpasses Ronnie easily and took less time doing so .
THIS GUY LOOKS LIKE HES GOING TO CRY AT EVERY SHOT..... USE TO HATE WATCHING HIM PLAY..... PURE DEPRESSION SNOOKER 🎱
Aye 7 world titles in a decade and a multi millionaire by 27 aye pure depressing hahaha 😆,
🚀.
I like st.and Higgins.and 147.best.
