The “catholic” in “Roman Catholic” is like the “federal” in “Federal Reserve”, that is, anything but. That’s why I always refer to the schismatics as the “Roman Church”, so as to not promulgate the false belief that they are catholic.
I agree but the thing is, they are not really Roman either. Ours was the faith of the Roman empire. They schismed after western Rome had already been conquered by barbarians and heretics for a few centuries. If we are speaking of the city then yes they are from the old patriarchste of Rome but if we are speaking of the holy ecumenical empire then we are the Romans.
The RC argument reminds me of the common islamic polemic ; "fastest growing religion => islam true". Both are very worldly ways of looking at truth, almost a prosperity gospel of sorts; "if God grants us worldly success currently, that must mean we are right".
Around 13:52 in the video he incorrectly mentions Theodore of Tarsus as a ‘Nestorian’. This needs to be corrected. St.Theodore of Tarsus (or Canterbury) is an Orthodox Saint!
Make a video at some point about the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.🙏 I've never considered Roman Catholicism, but this movement did raise a lot of questions for me regarding their Catholicity (properly defined).
I just last week finished reading St Robert Bellarmine's The Marks of The Church. Great book! It was very timely to hear an alternate opinion on catholicity. Thank you for sharing this interesting discussion. If I am no mistaken, the honoring of post schism Orthodox saints in Eastern Rite is only Vatican II, not traditional Roman Catholic, yes?
@@nuzzi6620 I was using the term "tradition" trying to contrast the policies of the pre Vatican II Rome with the post Vatican II Rome. I was in no way trying to touch on validity of any kind.
It was going on well before but V2 accelerated practices like this. For example the newest doctor of the church St. Narek, was a Monophysite who spent his whole life in the Oriental Orthodox communion.
Many, even among our own, have forgotten that the official title of our Church is the Orthodox Catholic Church.
@@ETSIRAVE Orthodox and Catholic are interchangeable terms, for the church to say it's Orthodox, it is to say that it is Catholic and vice versa
Roman Catholic < Orthodox Catholic

I think he actually says 'Diodore', i.e. Diodorus of Tarsus, who was indeed condemned as a Nestorian.

I have never heard of this movement. Mind sharing a quick rundown?
Being Catholic has nothing to do with Roman Cucktholicism. Brilliant video!

“Byzantine Catholics” are not traditional Catholics.

There aren't any post-schism Orthodox saint in Roman Catholic Canon of Saints. It is true that eastern catholics venerate some though.

Appreciate the explanation. Great reference video
Orthodoxy is Catholic. Papism is not Catholic.
