- Join us as we visit Heide Park in Germany for the first time in 5 years to check out all of the changes since we last visited. In this action packed vlog from the first day of our trip, we check out all of the major rides at the park including the new for 2019, Colossos - Kampf der Giganten. Along with that we share a mix of on and off ride footage from various different rides across the park.
In our day one vlog we also share our review from the fantastic sand animation show, capture the delightful atmosphere throughout the different themed areas and much more! This vlog features a wide variety of off ride footage from Colossos, Krake, Flug der Dämonen, Big Loop and many more attractions.

I speak french and at first I didn't even understand what he said! I love how he said something completely random with such a weird accent! XD
In german schools we are taught english as our second language and as an elective subject we can also choose to learn french as our 3rd language, so it wouldn't be surprising to me if that guy was actually a german who has french at school and just said something random into the camera haha

El Toro is really good! I've been on it 52 times so far just this season! And Kingda Ka is good, But Toro is the best at Great Adventure by miles!
I lived in NYC in 2009. And I agree with this statement. KK is impressive but El Toro is the better coaster by far. I even preferred Nitro to KK tbh. Much more re-rideable.
You will love El Toro, the airtime from the first drop is so good and the rest of the ride is full of twists and turns that certainly don't mess about. You'll love it for sure

Great VLOG and it let me spend some tears due to missing those times - actually the Heide Park is my homepark and we spend so much time in it. And atm, we can not .. :-/

OMG Heide Park looks so amazing with some really impressive footages! I didn't get a chance to visit last time I was in Germany but I will be sure to check it out next time! I also really cannot wait for you to come to Six Flags Great Adventure! See you this summer Shawn, El Toro is going to be amazing!

Fair warning: El Toro is NOT as smooth as colossus. It’s still pretty smooth, don’t get me wrong, but don’t go in expecting it to feel quite like Colossus. (Personally I’m totally fine with the smoothness of El Toro, it’s my number one)

Pretty awesome about the corkscrew trains, even though they are just trains it is kinda nice to know that part of that ride is still out there being used.
I was one of those that visited the park when collosus was shut.....
Colossus is the kind of ride I would build if I was given unlimited resources to make my own theme park. I've wanted to go on this coaster since I was a kid. Top of my bucket list. I'd love to travel to some of these parks.
I am not a big fan of this park ... But than I am not a big fan of Merlin and how they run their attractions and parks at all ....
When I was there the last time a lot of the attractions were run down (and needed desperately a paint job ) or weren't operating at all . More over there were empty spaces were attraction used to be ( actually a running gag of guessing witch flat ride will be gone next ..)
Beside that the theming was all over the place and very wild …
Than it was difficult (almost impossible) to get something reasonable to eat, because the most food location were closed ( even on a busy day). The one that were open were totally over priced and not delicious, Not to mention the toilets in construction cabins …
All in all I feel this Park has a leak of love from their owners ..(Does Merlin ever put love in their Parks ….)
I do know this park even before it belonged to Merlin and it was so much nicer !
A lot of the nice theming is from before this time. Also I do miss the old log flume :'(
But if you want to visit this park you should defibnitely check if you can find coupons for it :) There is almost always a 2 for one or a half price off campain happening. Like on cornflakes boxes or so ...

I went here in 2017, and didn't know that Colossos was closed and I was very gutted.
Just been checking this out for a potential family visit (post covid). You are exactly right about what makes a theme park great, some people are just credit mad. For us as a family a park needs the transport, dark and water rides to make it a better experience.

the sad thing about Big Loop is, Python at Efteling is two years older (1981) but has the better and newer trains. Also Python has been (as you may know) retracked and is way smoother than Big Loop.
Captain Levi New Vekoma Trains would be great for Big Loop.

Great vlog I’d love to see duel rethemed into a ghost busters dark ride give it abit of life and maybe the ride may get the popularity back it used to have!!
Collosos reminds me of the shy little brother of El Toro. El Toro seems to be much wilder and extreme. The Drop is much steeper and it rides a lot faster. There isn't much theming in the queue though, but it's a Six Flags park so theming is very minimal anyway.
El Toro has been my #1 since 2005 when it opened, but instantly got de-throned last year when Steel Vengeance was born. I'm quite confident it'll be in your top 3 when you ride it.

I went here so many times when I lived in Germany, I only went on that small ride in the western section though
24:09 Swarm is 38,5 meters tall. Flug der Damonen is 40 meters tall.
Amazing photography. It was almost like I was there, not riding the rides; just standing there, watching them. Good to see the esteemed Mr Turnstiles, but I'd forgotten what a shameless camera hog that guy can be. Tone it down, ya hooligan.

This would've been me in three days... Even though I live "only" 5 hours away, it would've been my first time and I was soooo excited 😭 Should have been a trip to Heide Park, Hansa Park, Movie Park, Toverland and Efteling. Guess I'll just re-watch all your vlogs and hope for next year...

TP Enthusiast ,,can't build higher than the trees at Alton towers as it annoys the locals. ,,hence why the rides are always dug down into the ground
Hey! Long time viewer. Love the videos. And agree with below, pronunciation much improved! Krake is pronounced as in ‘Cracker’ by the way. As an English German speaker, Krake as in Raik kills me 😂 A minor grievance on another amazing video!

Edit: In fact Heide Park had two observation tower. 😂 One of that (it's name was Aussichtsturm II or Observation Tower II) became Scream. The tower was build in 1992. The one which is still in the park was the first one - build in 1985.
They also had two Pirate Ships. Bounty...the one you rode and Santa Maria.
Santa Maria has been in Heide Park from 1983 to 2009. Now you find it at Legoland Windsor.
And a little praise: Your "German" pronunciation has gotten a lot better - compared to five years ago 👍

Hey, does it help your view count if we close the video, go and find on ride footage from other naughty creators, and then come back and continue viewing?
I must have revisited this vlog 7 or more times riding the pov's and coming back!
Personally, the cookie cutter SLC, and desert race wouldn't be worth riding in my opinion. I mean, I don't rate Rita, and Blackpool has a blue version of the SLC, and Blackpool's looks better with the waterfall and the close proximity to other rides.
