- Heide Park is a large theme park in northern Germany owned and operated by Merlin. This park features 9 different roller coasters including the Intamin pre-fab in Colossos. But which rides- roller coasters and non-coasters- are the best?

Last time I've been there it felt like some areas are getting seriously neglected. Mostly the older areas where they haven't forced some IP into it.
Although I'm really not fond of them pushing the Bobbahn into their Transylvania theme either.
Also after retracking+new trains on colossos: i miss the sounds of the rollback prevention on the lift hill and the bunny hops.
Maya-Tal was the one area that looked really bad.
Now that I think about it they actually have a really well balanced coaster lineup
We commented on Mike’s videos the same amount of times but I have more hearts 😂
I really like this park.
Lovely top 15. Don't blame you for omitting that coaster. That's the tallest "rooster comb" I've ever seen on a B&M. It almost looks like it will spray you in the loop. A very unique selection of rides and ride placement.
I really like this park.
Great review thx for the nostalgia
Glad you enjoyed it
Glad to have this as a second home park, the big 5 here is rock solid
Sure is!
You seem to like Dive Coasters much more than most enthusiast I've met. I like that, because I'm very curious about them. I've never ridden one, but I very much like to. I'm only just now getting back into being an enthusiast after taking a decade off. I think it's because my daughter recently just hit an age where she's big enough to ride most family coasters, and she absolutely LOVES them. So I think I fell in love with coasters, and theme parks in general, by looking at them through your eyes. Oh, and with the help of Coaster Studious, and your fantastic channel of course. Easily my top two. Seriously, I have yet to find another channel that covers with the depth and knowledge for literally every ride like yours does. It's truly inspiring stuff. I hope I'm half as knowledgeable on these subjects as you one day. Keep up the great work, man! Your channel is ridiculously underrated. You should have at least 100,000 followers by now, but I know for the quality and consistency that you will 100% reach that milestone and even more one day.
Thanks! I think it comes down to how not all airtime has to be ejector for me to enjoy it.
Kudos for this video! Really well presented it deserves a million more views. Will make our trip from Denmark some time when there’s low population soon. Surprised it’s only a 3 hour drive wuhooo
Thanks!
This seriously looks to be one of the best parks in Germany. It looks very underated, the reason this park gets some hate or just doesn't get talked about enough is cause there isn't any elite coasters outside Colossus. But the collection really isn't that bad if you look at it, a good B&M Wing with the world's oy demonic knot, a Vekoma mk 1200, am extremely short but cool B&M Dive, a not bad SLC, an Intamin Accelerator that I don't think iv heard anyone talk about in years, and of corse an Intamin prefab. One thing I love is that this park is an Intamin Gyro Drop Tower, very few of these in the world but they are fantastic 300 ft monsters and really cool visually.
Some have said the atmosphere has been hurt by Merlin, but I have enjoyed both my visits.
I agree with you 100%. Great list.
Thanks!
Love it !
Thanks!
After riding t3 last week, my first SLC, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. The ride was a little janky, but the ride didn't cause me any pain. I honestly didn't notice the restraints tightening on my thighs either
At least that one prevents headbanging.
In loving memory:
Wildwasserbahn 2, demolished in 2011. One of the best log-flume rides in europe. Under the Merlin-Entertainment-leadership the Heidepark lost a great part of its soul.
That one looked better for sure.
Agreed, was always terrified of it as a kid until I went back when I was 13-14 and realised it’s exactly the same as the other log flume.
Yeah. Now there is Flug Der Dämonen, which is great, but...
I love the Heide Park! They have amazing coasters and sone really fun other rides like Scream, the free-drop tower
Great rides!
personally I do think Limit HAS to be number 1, it is SO intense and such a great and smooth ride. This is probably the best inverted ciasted I have ridden yet. Ok just kidding, calling this thing a coaster is an offense to any good roller coaster out there. I personally LOVE colossos. At my first visit back in 2016 I think, it was unfortunately closed, but as I later returned to the park I finally got the opportunity to ride this master piece. I truly loved how intense and long the actual ride was and the big golem thing at the end really catches you offguard, such a nice final for the coaster.
I actually prefered Limit to Condor which has the new trains
If Limit disappeared, I wouldn't shed a tear.
When me and my brother and some other friends rode limit everyone eccept for my little brother had a bad headache the rest of the day, and said that they would never ride it again. But my brother wanted to ride it again. Like how. It was the worst rollercoaster I have ridden ever. And I have ridden cobra at tivoli friheden witch is extremely bad.
40 Rides in Heide Park and you picked slides :D. Nice video!
The slides are neat though.
@@CanobieCoaster Yep.
Park is quite good. I would switch Desert race with FDD. I just loved the launch so much. FDD is also my favourite wing coaster. It is fast and still feels like a long ride.
I like the launch on Desert Race too, but Flug is quite a bit ahead of it for me.
Some found Limit to be fun and great? What do you think about Limit? Has over the shoulder restraints
I found it rough.
Neat park. I'd be riding Colossus and the dive coaster. Yukon Striker is still the tallest and fastest.
Yes
Do you have any tips for beating the crowds at this park? Which rides to hit first?
I've gotten the Express Butler each visit due to crowds, but from what I've seen, it's smart to hit Desert Race first (since it can go down for rain) and then get some rides on Colossos with the single rider line short.
Great video. I could not agree more with this list. Colossus is amazing except for the lackluster helix. And Fluge De Daemon is hands down the best wing coaster out there. I honestly get dizzy in the second half of it's layout. It doesn't let up. the bobsled ride is probably the best one I have ever ridden as well. Is Desert Race a clone of Rita? Their layouts are quite similar if not identical. Fun ride.
Desert Race and Rita are basically the same to me.
Desert Race is slightly faster and the ride higher at some points (Highest 26 Desert Race - Highest 25 Rita)
Was Blue Tornado at Gardaland for you the worst SLC? Because of the roughness
The roughness and harder restraints.
how would you compare limit to riddlers revenge at sfne in terms of roughness
Worse since it still has the old restraints.
@@CanobieCoaster I know, just asking how rough limit is compared to riddler’s
Great video did you have any issues with the language barrier?
A lot of signage was in English and many employees spoke English as well, so there were no issues.
What would you rate krake and big loop?
6
hey, do you think skyrush is too big of a step up from superman at sfne?
Not a big step.
@@CanobieCoaster cool, I'll get a ride on it then. Thanks!
My fav is def Bobahn, I’m going next week (I go once a year)
Fun ride!
Would you ride it again for Toxic Garden?
I'll look at Toxic Garden without riding it.
Would you like to ride Limit again? A Vekoma slc
It is getting a refurb. Maybe if it gets new trains.
this is my home park and i haven't been there in ages, since i was a kid who was too scared tp ride anything but mountain rafting, and i had been planning to go to the park this summer with some friends but i've got no time :(
edit: and also no money lol
edit 2: finally went to the park this week! desert race was my personal favourite because i'm absolutely in love with those s-hills, but i had a great day overall!
It's worth trying the big ones.
I visited this park for 2 days a few months ago and i'm surprised by your opinion about the big loop coaster, pretty much what you said about limit i felt there instead.
Agree on pretty much everything else though, but now i'm disappointed that i didn't go up the slide tower
Oh and for your next visit, for food check out the canteen-like bavarian style restaurant in the center of the park (pretty much between the watergun battle, kraken and peppa pig land)
Thanks, I'll try there next time.
Im gonna maybe go there this year bc we are gonna go to germany
Nice!
Was Limit rougher than big Loop?
Yes
Having gone here about 2 weeks ago, it surprised me a bit in the diversity of theming and quality. And while I haven't experienced many different SLCs just yet, I completely agree with Limit. It feels horribly maintained, rattles like crazy and is an all-round uncomfortable ride. The only reason I rode it was, well, besides a credit, it was a complete walk-on. The El Condor in Walibi Holland was my first SLC years ago, and I don't remember that one being as bad as Limit.
But when it comes to the top coasters, I do agree. Krake is a fun gimmick, but besides the drop it honestly doesn't do much. Desert Race has a fun gut-punch at the start but I'm not too big a fan of the rest of the layout. Flug der Damonen was excellent, but I don't have many comparisons as of yet (as someone who relatively recently gotten into parks), I wonder how it'll stack up to Fenix for me.
But nothing tops Colossos here. I'm really glad that we have a ride like this in Europe, the airtime is crazy. The helix does hurt the ride though, it just didn't add much for me. And praise the single rider line on this one, because that made Colossos close to a walk-on for me.
I never heard how good this park's theming was prior to visiting, so it was a pleasant surprise in that area.
Am I weird for loving the rough and harsh experience of Limit? I was there in 2012, so maybe it was better at the time. Still the other attractions felt boring compared to it. I subsequentially rode this coaster probably more than 15 times and definitely like 20 times in one day.
To each their own.
I too am a huge fan of Ghostbusters. Have you ever seen AEW wrestling? In a match, The Elite played great homage to The Ghostbusters with outfits, moves, and yes, their own version of the Ghostbusters theme. Amazing! They also did a Space Jam entrance in an other match
I have not.
What do you think, during the 2010s did many people find all coasters at Heide Park as tolerable or as painful?
Limit was bad, but people liked other ones.
Noice
Yes
During the 2010s, did many or most find all roller coasters at Heide Park as painful, or none of them was considered painful by most? What do you think?
Limit is the one people found most uncomfortable.
Holy crap Flug der Damonen looks awesome
It is.
Was Limit the worst Vekoma slc for you in the world?
No
I think Condor and Vampire are worse but I didn’t even bother to ride either of them 🤷♂️
Roughest coaster for you in the world was Desert Race?
No
Damn I need a passport!
Comes in handy.
@@CanobieCoaster Lol
I think the SLCs with the usual trains are not painful
Glad you like them.
I should travel to South Korea and go on T Express and Phaethon that are probably the best from their genres.
Those are on my bucket list.
can you rank every "viper"
Airtime Thrills already did that
@@beddingfieldcoasters5778 i know
Maybe down the road.
A lot of the rides are white it’s cool
Yes
The roughest of all coasters for you in the world is...
Coaster Express
is it just me who compares scream to the mini scream?
Big Scream is far more intense.
i meant the other way around, sorry. i wrote this down at like 3:00 AM-
Limit got a rework its not as rough anymore its now toxic garden
That's encouraging to hear.
You used to pronounce Mack rides correctly. Not anymore I guess.
Sorry if it was mispronounced.
Hyde Park*
Did I butcher the name?
Krake is pretty bad
The layout is simple but I like it.
@@CanobieCoaster I got stapled pretty badly on it, so that doesn't help either
