This Phoenix FD for 3Ds Max VFX tutorial covers using the motion velocity parameter to make a smoke simulation spin around the car wheel for a burnout effect. I also go over using the adaptive grid to make the simulation area expand automatically based on where the smoke is moving.

@@RedefineFX Can you make a videos for beginners . For program use
There’s over 50 of those on the channel
If you use a open cylinder instead of a box you can overlay it to the tire tread.
Very nice!!! Can u make some fountain?
even tho i use blender this still very usefull
same process on every software ;)
Another great one! Can PFD particles expand over time, like an expanding foam effect?
They can’t
Magnific the tutorial. I start to study the phoenix fd a few weeks ago. i dont found the files in the bio.
The project files need to be updated because the tut is over 2 years old and I just don’t have the time right now sorry
thank you for your video! Would you be able to share or direct how to make this VDB work fine in Unreal engine?
What I think we are doing it as test it will work perfectly but what you gonna do, if the car is animated or it is dragging over a road and we want to hide the emitter over a live action plate?
Im using Arnold as renderer and can´t see my smoke when I enable to view in viewport. As well when rendering, some help?? Thanks!!!
Thank you so much
This is great! Thank you for another amazing tutorial!
Quick question from a beginner. Say that the car is also moving forward, do I just parent the grid to the car?
Hey, thanks. No in this case you’d need to make the grid big enough to cover the entire area of the car’s path
@@RedefineFX big thanks man! Weekend just got a lot better!
is possible transfer these Phenix FD effects to unreal engine?
I wish this tutorial was for blender, i really wanted to learn a car tire burnout in blender but there aren't any tutorial which can actually carry out the results
Awesome! Is this acceptable for importing to c4d
Yes Phoenix has an export tab
Does all rendering be done with Vray only or can I use Corona? My primary renderer is Corona for all my ArchViz , Thats why I am asking. Thanks
Could you please share the project file in the description as you mentioned in the video? Thanks a lot for this wonderful tutorial.. :)
done
@@RedefineFX Thank you so much! :D
please explain how to render animated video in 3ds max quickly ???????
Can i export smoke simulation from 3d max in vdb format to use it in cinema4d? thx for answer
Hey, yes you can do that :) Check this out - czcams.com/video/NP19b46dnek/video.html
Sir please make tutorial for maya please
This channel is Max only
Why my smoke does not leave the green container?
Plz make a tutorial in maya
Phoenix fd doesnot show in vray batch render maya... plzzzz help... or tell me other way to render it as animation
Checkout this page - docs.chaosgroup.com/display/PHX4MAYA/Distributed+Rendering
Is it possible through blender??
Is any addon needed
max only
And the link?
Help me Plse Smoke is not showing in rendered scene.. Everytime i render that, it shut down 3Ds Max..Help me Plse I didnt get smoke in viwport neither in the render.
Ive enabled the smoke to be seen in view port, but when i simulate it i see nothing
I'm not sure. Try turning GPU preview on and off
do u have any course for maya ?
No I only do Max
I don't understand paragraph 4:07 Which command do you use to hide so, I tried Pressing the X command on my keyboard, but it failed
alt+x for see-through mode
Wich software is it?
3ds max and phoenix fd
I follow your tutorial but no smoke comes out of the emitter at all (as in no particles are being generated at all). Using 3ds max 2021 and Vray 5, any help?
move your emitter further away from the wheel and ground
@@RedefineFX Thank you for the reply! I've done that but still no particles. The simulation also runs very fast (usually it takes very long for each timeline step), as if nothing is being calculated at all. Any ideas?
@@RedefineFX When I for example use the preset "set up a large smoke sim" then it renders smoke but if I follow the tutorial it does nothing...
where can i download this scene? link please ?
No longer available
the project comes with the car? jajaj
gran video saludos desde colombia
han han han haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnn
How long have you been doing vfx
I’d say seriously about 4 years
Owww OK but whenever you are doing the tutorial can you please tell how you increasing and decreasing some of the parameters and sliders would do to the simulation so we can understanding them and create our custom ones :)
Uhm? Haha have you seen any of the 60+ tuts on this channel? That’s exactly what I do in every one of them 😉
how many ram you use ? because ı get the problem from memory :(
I have 64gb
@@RedefineFX so how much time you're getting animation i just got 2 second and then 3ds max gave problem i just learn what is 64 rams limit
i wish there was a better way to create smoke source. smoke source is too obvious under the tire
how to make this in maya with the help of phoenix?
phoenix is fundamentally identical in Maya, so it should be doable to just follow the same setup there
@@RedefineFX thank you so much 🙏🏻
tribble explanation!! It's not a tutorial dude! you cut the video multi and multi time!!!
Then go learn it somewhere else. Nobody’s keeping you hostage here.
