Today we take on transitions from boyhood to manhood, and discover some of the keys that unlock our children's hearts. We hope to equip you with practical insights that will guide your kids toward responsible and empowered adulthood.
Remember, as we journey alongside our children, we're reminded that where our efforts fall short, God steps in. Join us as we strive to bridge the gap between the 'now' and the 'next' in the lives of our teens" in this episode of At Home with the Beveres.

I was crying the secon Asher started answering. What a beautiful young man and it shows the love and parenting of the parents.
Agree! Tears for the verbal acknowledgement of this boy from his father... Praise Him!
8:24
You're not the only one! Respects to his parents. Amazing!
Me too! As soon as he first spoke I teared up!!! We have 8 & 9 year old boys and I’m so excited (and scared!) for when they’re this age.
We spoke to our children in an adult manner and most adult friends did also.
Same! Maybe I didn't cry outright, but found it really, really touching
I'm not a mom yet, I'm not even married, but I love to watch this content to, first, get ready and know what to do when the time comes and second of all, to fill my heart with hope. Thank you guys for sharing.
That was awesome! Please do one with your daughter too 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I am absolutely blown away by Asher’s wisdom and maturity at his age. Well done, parents! I think about when I was 13, I’m 25 now, and there’s no way I would’ve been able to articulate in the way that he does or have the same language. He’s so aware, full of wisdom, and mature. It’s evident how you guys are doing parenting well through the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Very inspiring and encouraging for when I have children and raise them. 🥹🤍
Sisss!! Honestly my thoughts too!! Asher is so wise for his age! This episode was sooo good!!
ASher is amazing! HIS ABILITY TO EXPRESS HIMSELF BLOWS YOU AWAY WITH HIS SELF AWARENESS IN THIS JOURNEY kUDOS PARENTS
Dear Beveres,
Thank you for your faithfulness in running this show. This is such a powerful episode!
Beveres, you have no idea how have you blessed me and my spiritual growth as a Christian! I am forever thankful for your family legacy. These conversations make me want to push forward as a parent. It made me tear up to see Asher praying, hoping one day my son (who is 6yrs old) will grow up pursuing the Lord with all his heart. Thank you so much!
I had a moment where Asher spoke and I broke down, it tugged at the wound of not having parents like this but so thankful that I could bring that to God, and ask him to heal that part of me that is still wounded and to ask for the strength and faith to walk as a new person in Christ. This was a powerful episode, thank you for sharing, you're wonderful Godly parents. Feeling hopeful that I can be that to my children through the Holy Spirit.
The episode was indeed a great one. Having Asher in the cast gave it a different atmosphere entirely. I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed it. Amazing one.♥
I got chills during Asher’s prayer at the end. It is so beautiful how God is working through him in this season of his life!
The mom’s perspective is golden too. Asher is wise beyond his years. I have learned a lot today. ❤ Thank you guys!
From a mom of four, with two teens, girl 15, boy 14, the part where Julianna speaks on mourning the season and letting go, so your son can grow in his manhood and calling, was an exceptional point. Us moms need to mourn all seasons of childhood so we can embrace the next amazing seasons in full. Its so interesting that so many moms in our culture need permission to do this or simply don't know what a gift grief is in the parenting process. The Lord blessed me with this episode. Thanks Asher and fam!!
I'm not married, nor do I have kids but this was soo insightful❤️ It's so beautiful to see the legacy that John and Lisa have built live on through their children, through Addison and Julianna's home and it's beautifully visible through Asher...Only 13 but I'm blown away at his wisdom and spiritual strength🤯 Keep up the good work Mama and Papa👏🏾 This was such a blessing to listen to, it made me think of my own journey upon entering adulthood and the safe, godly space I want to eventually raise my children in❤
I’ve watched many episodes but this is my first comment. Wow! I’m blown away by Asher’s articulation and communication. I cried when Julianna said she mourned Asher becoming an adult…. As a mom of 5 I know that day will come for me too… and it’s okay. ❤
This conversation IS PROFOUND!! Asher is so blessed to come from a great legacy that John and Lisa started!!! Asher is a gifted communicator at 13!!! God is using him to be a blessing to others!!! God bless this family, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME!!! 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’m in tears that was beautiful
Praise God! What. A Beautiful family's
The bever,'s!. I love them so much.
May God continue to keep you and your family in the Palm of "His"hand ,Amen
Why didn’t this video warn us about the tears we were going to shed! I am learning and taking notes for the day I have children of my own.
Me too!
We want to be loved and known! Asher, you have great wisdom! Thank you, Beveres, for sharing all of this! This episode is so beautiful. My heart is so filled!
Asher made me cry too! That’s a lot of wisdom from a 13 year old.
LOVED hearing Asher’s perspective. What a gift to so many. I love this podcast so much!
Thank you for sharing the 'mums process' in the rites of passage / transition to manhood. When my husband and son did a similar process inspired by Jon Tyson and the Wild At Heart crew... I struggled because there just didn't seem to be much of a voice or acknowledgement of the mum's in the process. I'm so grateful to hear I wasn't alone in the grief process ❤
Julianna- I can hear your accent and your way with words through Asher sooo much!! You’re an amazing Mamma!!❤️❤️ and Addison that adventure that you planned with your son was just THE COOLEST thing for a Dad to do!! Cheers to a Beautiful family!!🙌🙌 and a God who meets us all when we seek Him!!
This is really helpful and very honest. Thank you 😇 please do one with your daughter too
I admire you guys the way Asher speaks. And the knowledge his got. It only shows you’ve done wonderful guiding him .
So so good. I'd love to hear Asher share more about the nuance of how he is spoken to/with now "in a more adult way" versus before. I was also left wondering what were those things he was sad to leave behind. Thank you for doing this. My boy is 5 and these past months that God has lead me to you, the Bevere family, I have found much support. I feel grounded knowing that motherhood is something I get to journey coming to each of you-- through these videos-- as support. Thank you for sharing from your overflow ❤
Thank you for inviting Asher to join in this episode I loved how he shared his thoughts so candidly about the transition from boy to young man and the process that he is in with its challenges and fears of the uncertainties and unknown. I was deeply moved by Asher's comment about the need for kids to be loved and their need for attention. Thank you Asher! Tender and moving episode!😍
When I see this family. I see the design of God for family. Thank you for reflecting the heart and the grace of Jesus Christ. I love you all and thank you. ❤️🥰
This was truly an amazing episode! Please, please, please do more episodes on this topic. It is so needed! It was so informative to hear Asher be open about what he is going through during this season. And how y'all as parents are navigating it. My oldest is 12 & we are trying to navigate this season of growth.
can I just say, "WOWOWOWOW". What a well spoken young man! This is so wonderful. I've said before how I only have little ones (2&3), but these conversations help shape me as a parent--its never too early to learn. I always want to learn and grow in who I am as a christian and who I am as a wife/parent. Thank you all so much for bearing your hearts and what you've learned, what you're doing differently, etc. It's just incredible.
I want to give Asher a hug❤...OMG! I'm blown away. God grant me the grace to be patient with my teen and raise him in your love and guidance
Seriously trying not to cry.. Julie thank you for sharing about how you mourned your son's childhood in a healthy way. My oldest is about to be 6 and I too see that season coming up so soon. Thanks again.
This was truly beautiful to watch! Amazing job Beveres! Blessings to you all and thank you for your surrender unto the Lord to share the love that you have by bringing and touching on these important topics that at times we may not even realize we may need for ourselves. Thank you and God bless you all!
I am not yet married, not yet a parent but i’m really enjoying this channel. Thanks a million!
Wen Julie said she sobbed wen her boy was transitioning I realized how my family and I are poor at being intentional 😅
I'm married and have no children yet but this has been so good! All these videos you all make. They help put things into perspective and i know i can come back to these videos when the time comes. Thank u so much for creating this content.
Omg!! I’m not even a mom or a wife yet but I learned so much watching it!! Asher you are amazing 🤩 congratulations to the parents of course and praise the Lord!!
This young man is wise beyond his years😢whatttttt!God bless him and his parents ❤
Wow, your young man has incredible wisdom for his age. I'm truly amazed of the level of in depth reflection and the wisdom coming out of him. Such great questions and great answers!! You guys are such a blessing as a family! Truly appreciate y'all!! Blessings and love from Germany!
Oh goodness...I cried twice watching this episode. Asher is wonderful and set apart for God. Well done Addison and Julie👏🏾👏🏾
Great show. I’m so amazed at seeing the result of pouring into a child and realizing this could be anyone’s child . The only difference is the parents who have taken the time to work wisdom into their children through the word and direction of God. This is wonderful. I hope I parent my children like this when the time comes. God bless y’all.
He's adorable. Good job parents. Praise God ❤
Could you guys explain, why Girls would start the Transition to womanhood with 12y and boys the transition to manhood first with 13y? As a gynecologist, I know that, biologically speaking, girls get into puberty earlier. As a mother of 4 (2-12y) I would like to know if there is a spiritual component for this threshold talked about in here?
Thanks a lot for these inspiring conversation with Asher. It teaches me a lot on how to respectfully talk to and value the voice/opinions of our children.
Greetings from Switzerland!
Thank you both for sharing your son with us and the wisdom and experiences he's obtained thus far. What A Blessed Man of God 🙌🏾 As well as the love and intentionality you two provide as parents called to steward and train him. Very Encouraging, Very Powerful episode!!!
You're all so blessed and such a blessing. I'm grateful for your family. I pray your blessings keep multiplying. Amen.
Thank you so much for this episode...what a blessing you guys have been in your son's life...I would love to see a video with your daughter since ours is the same age as yours! That would be very helpful how you navigate her time growing into womanhood! Be blessed from Cyprus
❤loved it! Thankyou for sharing Asher. God is good!! faithful & true.
I felt encouraged by your thoughts. Giving me extra things to ponder and think about.... We have four adult children and two younger ones..one is about to turn 12. Thanks again,
Cheers Christine
I can not wait to see Asher taking his place among this multigeneration of Bevere wisdom and knowledge...looking forward to his podcasts!! God is so Good!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow!
I don't have the words.
Keep doing what you're doing and teaching us to do it. I love you guys. So proud of you Asher❤.
The way he speaks his thoughts with confidence is a great testimony of how you parents are probably very encouraging parents.
When his mom said she cried for 2 hours I was crying because my sons are almost 10 and 9 and I felt that so much. I just want to be able to release the boy and allow the young man to become the man God has called them to be.
This is so good, so valuable. Really sets an example for parents of how to have an open and genuinely connecting conversation with their teens. 🙌🏼
Why am I crying… one of the best episodes yet
May the grace our God flourishing on you our beloved family🌹
I am so thankful you all are doing this! My oldest daughter is 13 almost fourteen and my son 12 (they are 18 months apart). I grew up reading and watching Lisa and John and now to have you guys come along side me in raising my own children is so timely! Only God could have planned this 🥰 I got married at 17 and don’t have a lot of examples or mentors in my life. So you guys are it! I’m praying my husband will listen to this as well and that we can learn to navigate these years together. Keep doing what you’re doing! Blessings to you all!
Wow, such wisdom this young man has! Well done Bevere's and glory to God. May he grow up to be all that God has for him!
Thank you so much for this beautiful episode. This is truly encouraging and very confirming. It truly is a blessing to see your family seek His Kingdom first! I cried relating so much too not only yall as parents but also remembering being Asher's age. His heart is so precious and what a joy to see yall protect and raise not only him up in the Lord but also others watching. Keep it up! Iron sharpens iron
As a Mom of 2 toddlers and 1 baby boy this gave me the big picture in how to raise them ❤
That was awesome! Thank you Asher for being so open and to you all for doing this. It has given us such encouragement and we head towards this season with our son (currently 6) that it can be different to how society says it will be. Amazing. You guys bring so much hope. God bless you 💕
What a delightful young man
Watched this with watering eyes. It's sooo moving to see a young man being loved so deeply. His confidence and respectfulness is radiating 😭
You guys are doing such a great job! Thank you so much for sharing this! ❤
THANK YOU FOR THIS!! This was SO rich for me and my family. Thank you for allowing your beautiful son to speak. I hope there will be more with the kids. Its SO helpful to hear their perspectives, practicals parents can do. Also, to have a voice for the younger generation to listen to is impactful. My son does not hear many kids around his age talking like this. For him to hear a peer speaking in the same way we are teaching him will be encouraging. I have young daughters and would love to hear from that angle as well. THANK YOU FAMILY.
I could not hold back the tears. This episode with Asher blessed me. This episodes is my heart for parents and anyone raising children to have the result Asher is experiencing to be their testimony. Thank you Asher for being transparent. ❤ Forever Nugget from this episode is that a boy is entering adulthood at age 13 and girls at age 12 in the Jewish culture.
I would love to hear the girl version and book recommendations for mom. Thanks for sharing love that Asher was on too
This video was extraordinary. Asher, your comments were amazing. Sending you all love.
What a young gentleman!!! Christ centered home life IS MASSIVELY MORE BEAUTIFUL ❤ My whole heart is beaming! Excellent job mom and dad. I so appreciate hearing this convo as my daughter is 4 and this gives me such deep context to how to engage. Even now! Lord BLESS THIS FAMILY AND ALL THE FAMILIES THAT GET TO GROW FROM THIS MAJESTIC DISPLAY OF HOW GOD WANTS FAMILIES TO OPERATE! IN JESUS NAME.
Awesome awesome awesome … all of it. Appreciated for sharing your heart… it has bought some enlightenment to my soul. God bless you
I just want to say thank you for allowing your son to come on here and speak about the transition process he is in. I have a son about to be 10 and I have also noticed a change in his attitude however, I know he is growing. I look forward to more talks like this! I believe this will help many parents learn how to be better stewards of the gifts God has blessed us with. ❤
He is sooo articulate 👏👏👏👏👏Taking notes 📝🤓
This is absolutely excellent!
It is so apparent Asher has a firm foundation in his inheritance.
He is very articulate and wise.
Awwww Asher brought tears of joy in my eyes as he prayed, what a blessing you were to me throughout the podcast. I am a single mother and I was intently listening, and have had many take-aways - hallelujah!! I love you all as a family. your podcasts are amazing! Love from United Kingdom 💖💖💖
Wow! There is definitely a mantle on this young man! God bless and cover him and all of your other precious children!! Such wisdom from him, you have taught and trained him well!!
This was absolutely amazing! God bless Asher and all of you 🙏🏼
This is the first episode I have ever watched, and I am blown away! First at how mature Asher is for his age, and at how good this is, such a great standard for all of us. thank you for opening up your home and family. So good.
Thank you guys for this show.
My take home is the culture of passing on the child from being a child to an adult with an event. Am so going to implement in my family💝💝
Great podcast! You both raised a wonderful son with the Lord..
I watched this while in Cape Town for a few days. I am from Walvis, Bay, Namibia. Single mom with 3 beautiful children, two girls 19 and 26 and one boy 25. I really enjoyed this and thank God for you. Even though it is a little late for me, I would love to teach younger couples on good and God parenting principles. Thank you Asher for the courage to share and thank you to the Beveres for the example you are of God fearing people!
This was so good!! That 3rd generation is coming up strong!! Asher is such an insightful young man! Looking forward to hearing great things about him. Can’t wait for the daughters episode 🤗
This is such a beautiful and powerful conversation.
I am definitely taking notes for my 13-year-old son thank Beveres
What a beautiful conversation! Asher has so much maturity and wisdom at 13 years old. You both have done a beautiful job raising him to be a Godly young man!
This episode has been so beautiful .. I watched it grinning and awwwing everytime.. ❤
I can so relate with the crying when realising that my son is not a boy anymore! It was a precious moment. On his 12th birthday, we've made a card to announce that he can sit in the front seat, took pictures, he had his cake: it was a big deal. At the time some of his friends were already siting in front seat (illegally!) so it was a thing for us to keep our standards and communicate to our son that there is a time for everything, and we want to do things the best way possible. To navigate the transition has been beautiful, scary (because of the unknown) and at the same time painful (to let go of my sweet little boy). In the process, we All need so much grace to go through the changes, Dad; Mom and child, everyone.. So great that we have our heavenly Father that is right by our side to guide us in this, we would not be able to do it without Him. Our son is 16 now, and we are daily learning how to give space and still claim him. lots and lots of prayers, and show of love. So grateful to God that we still have his heart and he has ours. THANK YOU guys so much for this episode, and may God continue to bless your family as you continue grow together and share God's love with the world.
So blessed to know you guys ❤
Ur doing a beautiful work out here 🩵
You have an awesome son! Praise God!
Thank you ALL for this powerful conversation. I remember as every time my daughters changed schools from primary into secondary, then into Polytechnic, I asked them to give me some time to adjust myself. This gives them space to adjust as well, n know it's a time for change on both sides. For me to learn to let go a little each time of my hold on "my little girl" as she grows. To recognise that she indeed is older so we can both can step into this new stage with respect n honour together. Adjust our expectations like staying up later n going out more independently with friends, but to always inform me when n where they are too. I thank God for the blessings of my girls every day. Thank you again The Beveres
I’m sitting here absolutely floored by Asher’s maturity and how well he carries himself! This was such a sweet episode, and the culture of honour that you all have in how you encourage one another and share appreciation for each other is just so beautiful. Thank you guys! 💕
This 14 year old speaks with a lot of wisdom.
God bless him and you Adison and Julie. Good job on raising him.
so so special all of you and thanks so much Asher for sharing
This video is powerful. PLEASE DO MORE TEENAGE EXPERIENCE VIDEOS. We are learning.
God will put mentor teacher and right timing god is watching thank you for sharing you great job
We have a 23, 19, 18, & 17 year old and one grandson. We're a blended family, and it's been difficult creating structure, such as curfew and chores. Some of the girls don't think they should have a curfew because they don't have curfew at their other parents' home.
Thanks for sharing Asher. Very wise
I started tearing up twice during this episode. And when Asher started praying it was hard to hold it back.😭😅I praise God in heaven for you all. Thank you for your goodness and humility and showing us what God intended for the family. I have three little boys and your wife is absolutely 💯 right. Keep your eyes on Jesus. PTL!
This podcast really helped me a lot, especially when I realized what Asher's mother said: we need to allow ourselves to mourn the little boy that is gone and understand that now a man is born. 🥺❤️🙏🏼
As a mother of a 13-year-old boy, my emotions need to understand this in order for me to deal with my son the way God wants me to.
So so grateful for this podcast and I look forward to every new one that comes out! I feel like I am gaining new weapons every time! Soo much wisdom in this episode! I have 4 children but my oldest two daughters are 14 and 12. Looking at them as adults in training is a perspective shift that is challenging but needed! I have felt this nudge already from the Lord but it was laid out so practically and plainly. Thank you!
I would love if y’all have a page with links of the resources/books that you often reference. And let’s get going on that episode discussing teenage daughters 😅
Thank you for being faithful and discipling many as we raise the next generation of Kingdom Builders!!
Profound, beautiful, rich. Thank you- especially thank you to Asher! Excited for what the Lord has in store for you, Asher, as you step forward in His calling on your life. What y’all shared today will bless our family on many levels. God bless and protect you all as you continue to serve and glorify Him.
What a wonderful young man! And what respect his parents show him ❤
Please create more content on parenting and navigating different stages on children's life as well as a couple with kids🎉
We really need to learn from you ❤
Wow! Asher is incredibly insightful and has great clarity at his age. What amazing parents
