Library looks good. Best wishes with what you choose to read. The only problem with watching other book tube channels is that it only increases the tbr! Happy reading to you!

I love your taste... some of my favourite books are in that list❤ and you're soothing to listen to yay. I also appreciate your sensitivity. I too feel incredibly anxious about the knowledge that my life will never be as it is at a specific moment. I've been aware of this since a child, no matter where I was. I also love the Idiot from Dostoevsky for the same reasons, and I love Ivan's monologue for the same reasons as well lol! I can't wait to watch your other videos

Great list and probably quickest I've ever subscribed when I saw e.g. The Idiot (and DFW) included. Smaller, more sincere channels like this are saving me right now, and yours seems like one of the best. Thank you :)
I know no one asked, but I can't help sharing some of my own favourites:
    Les Misérables - Victor Hugo
    The Crossing - Cormac McCarthy
At the Mountains of Madness - H.P. Lovecraft
    Heaven - Mieko Kawakami
    The Idiot - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Light in August - William Faulkner
    Cat’s Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
    The Samurai - Shūsaku Endō
Ship of Magic - Robin Hobb
The Demon-Haunted World - Carl Sagon

    Fantastic!
This video got me to look into Roland Barthes' _A Lover's Discourse_ , and I want to first reprint a wonderful section by Barthes on the lover as atopic (incomparable, unclassifiable, without any ground ( _topos_ ) for comparison), found in the book:
"The other whom I love and who fascinated me is _atopos_ . I cannot classify the other, for the other is, precisely, Unique[...]I surprise the other's _atopia_ on his/her face each time I read there a tremendous innocence: the other knows nothing of the harm he or she has done me--or, to put it less rhetorically, of the harm he or she has given me."
This idea of the innocent other, unaware of the harm they've given to the lover, I interpret as the implementation of the restless yearning, the desire that is felt less as a joy and more as a hunger or arresting impulse. At the price of length, I would also like to reprint here some other accounts of love that also have this sense of pain, yearning, angst, as opposed to simple joy or sateity.
From W. Somerset Maugham's _Of Human Bondage_
"He had thought of love as a rapture which seized one so that all the world seemed spring-like, he had looked forward to an ecstatic happiness; but this was not happiness; it was a hunger of the soul, it was a painful yearning, it was a bitter anguish, he had never known before. He tried to think when it first came to him. He did not know. He only remembered that each time he had gone into the shop, after the first two times, it had been with a little feeling in the heart that was pain; and he remembered that when she spoke to him he felt curiously breathless. When she left him it was wretchedness, and when she came to him again it was despair.
He stretched himself in his bed as a dog stretches himself. He wondered how he was going to endure that ceaseless aching of his soul."
Finally, from a book I'm reading on the poet Friedrich Hölderlin:
"It was in his second tutorial post, in the house of a Frankfurt banker named Gontard, that he became romantically involved with his employer's wife, Susette. He became passionately attached to the young woman, who returned his affection, praising her as 'Diotima'[...]It has been suggested that he explored the profound trauma of his parting with Susette Gontard in 1798 through the latter part of this work, and the pain of this event seems to have contributed to the onset of mental illness."
Thanks again for this recommendation, may your channel have its successes.

Great pronunciation of Água Viva ♥I really tried to read Clarissa but aside from what was a required reading at school - I can't into her writing. I think this is some kind of heresy, but I will try next reading her in english instead of portuguese to see if I'm able to connect more with her writing.
I got intrigued by the Pale King. Thanks for sharing your favorite books with us ♥

Stefan Zweig...nice! i read his stories in the original german..and it is beautiful, crystal clear language...even with my limited german skills...i loved it :-)
Have you read anything by Irving D Yalom? "Love's Executioner" was amazing IMHO...the author is a psychoanalyst and outlines some of his patient's issues in that book
