this video is sponsored by my neighbors, I have them to thank for giving me the bedbugs (potentially) update: it was never bedbugs, just chiggers... this is all for the plot, everything is crumbling beneath me, but I still managed to cling to my sanity. 𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢𓆸𓇢 follow me on instagram:@_alanichu #vlog #vlogs #vlogger #chattyvlog #dailyvlog #vlogging #homedecor #bookhaul #...

i am absolutely obsessed with your account (and your book choices!!)
Stefan Zweig...nice! i read his stories in the original german..and it is beautiful, crystal clear language...even with my limited german skills...i loved it :-) Have you read anything by Irving D Yalom? "Love's Executioner" was amazing IMHO...the author is a psychoanalyst and outlines some of his patient's issues in that book
Came across ur book video and now I’m obsessed and loving ur vibes!! <333
I have officaly become OBSESSED with ur vids, the way u explain these books in such a soft spoken manner really helps me unwind and be in the moment with you. PLEASE keep on post book recs !
you have such great taste in books 🤭 and, judging from the thumbnails of your other videos, just generally in life as well :) looks like i’ve found a new channel to obsess over <3
brazilian here! in the middle of the video i was thinking “oh se would loooove clarisse” and right afterwards you started talking ab her in such a lovely way and i was like aaawn that makes sense!!!!! loooove the video and the recomendations!! the book of pleasures is one of my life favorites i would also like to recommend you jorge amado, he is an amazing writer and the book “captains of the sands” is impeccable in passing the Brazilian passion and warmth so glad your video came across my recommendations! happy to be a new member of the community 💘
Immediately adding these to my tbr!! Love the way you described these books
Great curation! I love so many of these! I’d totally join a book club if you started one
You are my new favourite comfort CZcamsr . Beauty and books - what else could you ask for 🥰

i just discovered your channel and your vlogs are really comforting and refreshing. Love your vibe 🤍
Definitely adding Clarice Lispector to my tbr! I would also struggle to choose only 10 books, but my auto buy authors are Alessandro Barico and Yoko Ogawa ❤
Congrats on first ink, looks good!
I discovered your channel from your book recommendations video, and your vlogs are just so refreshing! I understand wanting to hone your craft- and look forward to how you do so!- but even now your videos have such a nice, chill vibe :)
<3 your comment made me smile, ty ! I hope my videos continue to be simple and sweet to attract genuine people like you 🪷

Fuck yea, Clarice FOR LIFE
I would still watch your video if you made it 5000 hours long 😭🤎
I feel you.
Pretty pretty❤
Love everything about this video❤
Love everything. Especially the purse ❤❤❤❤
please do a bookshelf tour 📚❤
thats so cool, I also was introduced to David Foster Wallace through that speech. I have not gotten the strength to read any of his books yet though
Fantastic! This video got me to look into Roland Barthes' _A Lover's Discourse_ , and I want to first reprint a wonderful section by Barthes on the lover as atopic (incomparable, unclassifiable, without any ground ( _topos_ ) for comparison), found in the book: "The other whom I love and who fascinated me is _atopos_ . I cannot classify the other, for the other is, precisely, Unique[...]I surprise the other's _atopia_ on his/her face each time I read there a tremendous innocence: the other knows nothing of the harm he or she has done me--or, to put it less rhetorically, of the harm he or she has given me." This idea of the innocent other, unaware of the harm they've given to the lover, I interpret as the implementation of the restless yearning, the desire that is felt less as a joy and more as a hunger or arresting impulse. At the price of length, I would also like to reprint here some other accounts of love that also have this sense of pain, yearning, angst, as opposed to simple joy or sateity. From W. Somerset Maugham's _Of Human Bondage_ "He had thought of love as a rapture which seized one so that all the world seemed spring-like, he had looked forward to an ecstatic happiness; but this was not happiness; it was a hunger of the soul, it was a painful yearning, it was a bitter anguish, he had never known before. He tried to think when it first came to him. He did not know. He only remembered that each time he had gone into the shop, after the first two times, it had been with a little feeling in the heart that was pain; and he remembered that when she spoke to him he felt curiously breathless. When she left him it was wretchedness, and when she came to him again it was despair. He stretched himself in his bed as a dog stretches himself. He wondered how he was going to endure that ceaseless aching of his soul." Finally, from a book I'm reading on the poet Friedrich Hölderlin: "It was in his second tutorial post, in the house of a Frankfurt banker named Gontard, that he became romantically involved with his employer's wife, Susette. He became passionately attached to the young woman, who returned his affection, praising her as 'Diotima'[...]It has been suggested that he explored the profound trauma of his parting with Susette Gontard in 1798 through the latter part of this work, and the pain of this event seems to have contributed to the onset of mental illness." Thanks again for this recommendation, may your channel have its successes.
Hello, fellow Clarice lover. Subscribed
Great list and probably quickest I've ever subscribed when I saw e.g. The Idiot (and DFW) included. Smaller, more sincere channels like this are saving me right now, and yours seems like one of the best. Thank you :) I know no one asked, but I can't help sharing some of my own favourites: Les Misérables - Victor Hugo The Crossing - Cormac McCarthy At the Mountains of Madness - H.P. Lovecraft Heaven - Mieko Kawakami The Idiot - Fyodor Dostoyevsky Light in August - William Faulkner Cat’s Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut The Samurai - Shūsaku Endō Ship of Magic - Robin Hobb The Demon-Haunted World - Carl Sagon
Verrry brainy books...I mean, no, I haven't read 'em but...I've read enough to KNOW how erudite a reader you are.
Would love to follow you on Goodreads or StoryGraph or fable. Idk any reading tracking app. Loved your recs. love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Omg I entered in these video just to get some recomendations, and you indicate Clarice Lispector 🫶 sooo amazing to see people enjoying brazilian/latin american literature ❤ I'm really not use to seeing that
Sorry for my bad English, by the way
It’s refreshing to see a booktube that is not solely based on romance, smut and fantasy. All genres that I LOVE, but I’ve been wanting to get into some more well rounded reads lately. Especially books that deal with the human condition. When I was in high school I read Anthem by Ayn Rand and it changed my life, and I wanted more of that but didn’t really know where to go for the recommendations because I am surrounded by mainly romantacy spice readers. Again not a bad thing, I discovered spice/smut last year and have been enjoying certain books from the genre, but I kind of fell into a hole lol. I do want my genres to be diverse.
This is your first video about literature and you did it so well?! 😲 Do more! The only Lispector I've read thus far is this "The Hour of the Star," it is pretty good 👍
Wow what a list of books! I am excited to see more from you❤
Great pronunciation of Água Viva ♥I really tried to read Clarissa but aside from what was a required reading at school - I can't into her writing. I think this is some kind of heresy, but I will try next reading her in english instead of portuguese to see if I'm able to connect more with her writing. I got intrigued by the Pale King. Thanks for sharing your favorite books with us ♥
No background music, cozy vibes and good book recommendations... i love it ⚘️✨️
i just came across your video randomly and i just wanted to say how pretty and lovely your energy is ^_^ you talking about your insecurity is so relatable for me because i have eczema scarring so i understand how vulnerable it can feel when wearing more open clothing. I hope pilates is a lot of fun! everything you got is so so cute too! <3
Thank you! That’s the sweetest compliment/comment. I’m glad both of us are not alone with the feeling 💌
im in a book slump :(
I’ve just added all of these to my TBR tysm! More book content from you would be amazing 😊
Also you've inspired me to read some of your #1 favourite books ❤
I love your taste... some of my favourite books are in that list❤ and you're soothing to listen to yay. I also appreciate your sensitivity. I too feel incredibly anxious about the knowledge that my life will never be as it is at a specific moment. I've been aware of this since a child, no matter where I was. I also love the Idiot from Dostoevsky for the same reasons, and I love Ivan's monologue for the same reasons as well lol! I can't wait to watch your other videos
love the list, makes me excited that i already own some of these - making an immediate physical tbr
Almost every item is incredibly gorgeous
you’re sooo pretty !! i hope you have fun doing pilates, all the stuff you got is so cute :,)
ty! you’re so sweet<3 she definitely has been learning and having fun with it,
Library looks good. Best wishes with what you choose to read. The only problem with watching other book tube channels is that it only increases the tbr! Happy reading to you!
I discovered your channel through this video. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Loved this! Love the way you talked about these books and such interesting reads as well. Thanks and recently subscribed
Loooove this! What an interesting collection to talk about.
is this the push i need to finish anna karenina??
Yup, immediately love your vibe 🧘♀️
