Hello there. Nice video. Was always a fan of the blizzard games, and wanted to take time to give a quick (but IMO important) feedback: I think "Frostgiant" has a really good name going. (this hooked me up immediately when hearing: original and "fresh" quite literally) However, "Stormgate" to get to the point... is a rather bad name: It reminds really really hard of the blizzard "fail" heroes of the *storm.* I like the game but I also know about all the negative connotations with it. IMO if anything i.e. a hint towards warcraft seems more fit. Anyways looking forward to your releases. gg!
Ps: back then "hots" (heroes of the storm) already didn't feel well chosen, being the same abbreviation of "hots" (heart of the swarm - the game which some like, (including myself) but most potential moba players might not, back then. ) I am following most of the community stuff of older RTS, such as starcraft (2 and bw), warcraft (3), heroes of the storm, but also newer RTS, AoE, Mythology..., Gates of Pyre..., etc. I heard this new title on Artosis' stream first time and since then always had this feedback in the back of my mind. (I usually wait getting too hyped about Alpha's but now watching here)
You are trying to Frankenstein 5 games together into 1v1 and all you have to do is make an actual spiritual successor to SC2. Go crazy with the other modes. At this point it seems the other modes might be this games only chance at success considering Zerospace and Tempest Rising look like they are much closer to what everyone in RTS was looking for.
Reactivness of unit and mechanics/group control in tempest rising is a mess, the da and graphics of the game is good but that's all really. Zerospace didn't have the chance to test yet.
A direct successor to Starcraft 2 is doomed to fail, if you don't see it start counting the amount of alternatives to WOW and Starcraft released in the last 2 decade. Shouldn't take too long.
Given how well the technical alphas have gone, Tom deserves applause
