- Taking a look at the Specialized S-Works Romin Evo Mirror Saddle, 143mm width. This is a 3D printed high performance bike saddle with high claims in comfort and weight reduction. Is this the best saddle available?

Good looking saddle!
Ya I think it looks sharp for sure.
Soft for your soft bits. Will be interesting to compare to the Fizik in the future.
Definitely a good comparison coming soon.
Like your review and have a couple of questions.
I have found saddles with lots of padding un-comfortable after an hour or so ?
Also, I like a flat shape saddle , how does this compare ?
This is assuming you have ridden it for awhile now ?
Yes it’s a flatter saddle. I never had issues running it over an hour or longer.
Waiting the review of Assos Clima Capsule Alleycat 😀
I have it scheduled for this upcoming Thursday 😎
Hi Mitch, Specialized web site says this is more for cyclist with aggressive cycling position. I am also on an Aethos but I kept my 30mm spacers on. So I am not too sure if this saddle will be suitable for my riding position. I am an S-works power saddle with mirror too; but really like just like to hear out from you which may better loved by my butt.
I prefer the Power Mirror but both were great. It’s such a personal preference…
Hey what kind of clamps did you use to secure this saddle to your seat post? A very critical question if you don’t want to crack the carbon rails. Also, what happened to crack your power saddle? Is this a manufacturing flaw? Why buy any carbon specialized saddle if it only cracks on you? They’re expensive as hell! Also did you not like the power saddle and why?? I ask these questions because I just bought the power mirror saddle like the Roman power mirror saddle and sure as hell don’t want it to crack. Will you notify specialized and get a replacement?
You just have to make sure the clamps are for 7 x 9mm saddle rails, that's all. If they are for round rails, you will crack the seat... most shops will have the conversion kits for whatever Seatpost you have. It's not a big deal, it's just something you need to make sure you do.
I have two Power Mirror 143 mm, one on my Epic HT and one on my Roubaix. Is it worth the exchange for this one or are they too similar?
I’d ride whatever one you’re most comfortable on. Both have their pros and cons.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Thank you!
Did you do the long term review yet?
Not yet :)
You had a power mirror saddle in another video I watched.
Do you prefer the power or romin mirror and why?
For me the Power just fit me better. It’s all preference.
What size sit bones do you have for the 143mm?
I can’t seem to remember the measurement. For some reason 121mm is in the back of my head? But I truly can’t remember. The shop measured for me.
That cracked saddle, chances are very good specialized will warrant a replacement
The shop did.
How did you crack the saddle you showed in the beginning of video? Thanks!
Just riding along…. Hit something unexpected on the road and that’s all it took.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Wow ! Interesting... Thanks
@@MitchOnTwoWheelsman that’s too delicate, we need a stronger saddle especially with carbon. Hmm, I think I might have to return mine
How did you get on with saddle setup tilt? Thanks.
Guess and check with the Alpinist post. I had to stick an Allen key through the seat obviously.
I’m intrigued by these but I worry they’ll get super gross with all those nooks and crannies… love specialized saddles.
So far so good... The comfort is definitely above the level of a traditional saddle, but will it last as long? I don't know. As well, I'm curious to see what ends up inside all the spaces, but hopefully it's not an issue.
Do you know if all Specialized seatposts work with this saddle?
Most do, but will require a different clamp in some cases
@@MitchOnTwoWheelswhich clamps?
7x9
Just wondering why you did not go with a power 3d
I wanted to try something different. To me this was a cross between the Power and the Toupe, both of which I like.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels i have the romin 3d on my roubaix and the power 3d on my cervelo love both of them
That’s awesome!
What is your 8months review? is it worth the bucks they charge for it? How does Romin compare to Power in terms of the shape?
I recently switched back to the Power saddle. I prefer it’s shape, but also got the Power Pro Mirror version which I have a quick video on Thursday about.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels what do you prefer about the power shape? I’m thinking about making the switch from the power mirror to the Romin mirror.
Just personal preference. It anchors me better while the Romin you can move around on
@@MitchOnTwoWheels my power mirror has been eating up my MAAP bib shorts. Did you experience anything similar with the Romin or the power pro?
@@michaellee7046 Negative. Assos bibs for two seasons without issues...
Translation: “Soft bits“ = “special unit“
That's funny! haha.
Is it true that these saddles got their name because they're made out of Romin noodles? 😛
That’s as good of logic as I’ve heard. Let’s go with it 😂
I Hurd it’s not worth the money
It’s worth every penny.
