The production year on that B & S engine is easy. The engine numbers are stamped in the blower shroud. Model / Type / Code. The first two numbers of the code is your year.

OH I love that old Monkey Ward 8hp engine - that thing should last forever if you get it fixed and running right again ... looks like a 1970's model Montgomery Wards from an old tiller. There's a fella Carl Fxy has a video on one. Looks like the same engine. That Yammi came out sweeeetttt ... both of them did but the 70 is just a find ... keep it up
