i watched this TWICE! First on my phone, then on the tv. Truly, a documentary!! You showcased a weeks worth of events in such an action packed video. From no wind, to crazy storms. From Dolphins to hanging with the Texas 200 crew. Seriously a great video all around!!
I had an aquarius 21 and that darn swing keel cable would fail often too. Sometimes I would wonder if a mermaid was untying the cable. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
That was a hoot! I'm glad ya'll survived the storms, and Thunder Road took it head on..😂😅 I can't wait to see #11 in her first 200, that'd be awesome. Love what you're doing 😊
That was a pretty rowdy brush with the storm on day 1 it was a totally different perspective from inside the Mariner versus down in Ziggy's Windrider. You guys are making it look good thanks for taking us along!
As always very thrilling to watch your 200 sailing journey, those storms makes my heart race. Happy to know you came through safely. Great video, thanks for sharing the journey.
I stumbled upon your video from your trip in 2023 about 9 months ago. That's when I first learned about the Texas 200 and I'm hooked. Great job and I hope to see you out there 2025
Fun,fun, fun! Glad you made it safe and sound. Ol’ Zig is quite the character 😊 Take care Hopefully me and the mister will have the opportunity to meet you next month.
ummm, if the land were far enough away, you could heave too. put the tiller to stbd, the sail to port, and she'll calm a bit, and stop making way, and pretty much swing a bit. It the same drill as raising sail, where you swing head to wind with the tiller and jib. you might need a small jib to do this, or reef points on your jib . Old days, before everyones' ass had rollers, the cutter rig was loved because you could reef the stay sail.
hove to wouldn't be a good idea in the icw, outside the very narrow channel it's only 1ft to 4ft deep full of rocks and shoals that love eating centerboards and rudders and propellers.
@@restrothunderroad I was thinking of the ICW on the east coast, espically south where you have to cross these big bays. Plenty of room there. In Georgia, most places, you might as well be at sea. So this proves again, local sailors know local waters. Something to remember. Thanks for the reply .
I was considering the Salish 100 since it is closer to me but their website has a "rainbow" blurb that preaches about my "privilege". I have no desire to spend a valuable week with people who think I should be ashamed of who I am and the color of my skin. For all my privilege I have sure had to work a lot of overtime for a lot of years to be able to afford a simple hobby. I hope I don't find that attitude when I check out the Texas 200.
Yeah it's a 10hp, opened up all the way I'll get about 12 knots of speed. Can almost plank but not quite. haha Definitely has all power I'll ever need. ⛵️🤙
Dam, I previewed like 30 seconds of this video and it Put me to sleep. Ive move on..sorry! you gotta change your video up where captures people's attention in ten seconds of preview

Good Job Brandon. Yeah we welcomed the light showers too. Bet you won't go down the ditch at Port O'Connor anymore! Gros Bec
Definitely staying out of the ditch from now on! I'm gonna bulletproof that centerboard and next year we're travelin light n shallow.
Awesome looking trip. Heck, that three hour delay for the buses didn’t seem all bad either.
Great episode! You guys had some exitement 😂. Maybe I'll even go out to the boat and get a couple of things done....

light air and no motor can get dangerous really quick.

Great travelogue! Sorry so much of it was under power. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for showing us Aussies what the Texas 200 is all about. Is it a race? I am guessing not if you are allowed to motor when needed.
Cheers Bruce

Outstanding!
I didn't see either of the Chuck's, it's not a TX200 video if there are no Chuck's in it. : )
🤣
Dyneema doesn’t rust as easily
Any ducks out there this year?
Didn't see any this year.

Hey man I plan to beat ya in the next tx200
Brandon, have you clocked your top speed with motoring? You’re running a 10hp, right?
Yeah it's a 10hp, opened up all the way I'll get about 12 knots of speed. Can almost plank but not quite. haha Definitely has all power I'll ever need. ⛵️🤙
