  • My review of the 2021 Toyota GR Supra with the 2.0 B48 4 cylinder engine. This thing deserves its own model! Perhaps call it a Celica Supra?

I know you said in your last q&a about how long reviews take, but please, please, do not stop making them. Yours are the best, and I watch a lot. No one shows the underside of a car, no one pushes on the blank where a seat heat button should be like its all of a sudden going to morph into one, and no one would comment on how soft foam is on the underside of an engine cover. You are unique and we love you for you individuality.

@@SarahnTuned "too technical" from a visualization as action point of view. "We'll see you out on the water" or "we're going for a drive" is normally how these reviews are done to *get in the driver seat* so to speak. If you think the car is an art form obviously you want to present that as such as obviously that's what the folks putting their passion and their lives into these "motored machines" *THINK* they are doing(but they need you say that for them.)
But absolutely once you have the camera this is your car so fluer-de-lis as the French would have you have it.

A lot of your review data reminded me of one of the cars I had to sell when I emigrated from England - a lightly tuned Porsche 944TurboS. That had 250 BHP as designed from a 4 cylinder turbo 2.5 litre, also 50/50 weight balance and rather modest wheels for its class. Rebuilt with forged pistons and a better fuel pump and ECU tweaks, it made 312 BHP on the dyno and was far and away the most lively and fun car I have ever owned, especially as it lacked an LSD! So I think this Supra could end up much loved in years to come. Great review as ever - your format and presenting as well as the filming and editing, not to mention your sense of humour, make these a great to watch!

Your videos were always fun and different and I always enjoyed the humor, but adding the garage space and now doing the lift shots and more mechanical stuff has really elevated the channel. I think the subs speak for themselves. It's a nice feeling being part of something that gets better and bigger (...), there are some channels that take a high dive in a low well and this isn't one. Keep going.

Another great car review, Sarah. I like your idea of making the four cylinder model of this car slightly different than the six. Always love the underside views of the cars you review. On the subject of smushed exhaust, I had that on my Ford Focus RS. For some reason, they smushed the exhaust, right in the middle. I cured that problem by putting on the Ford Performance (Borla) exhaust. No more smush! As always, keep up the car reviews. I really enjoy your style.

I suppose that in the more frigid regions of the USA, Canada, Alaska and the like, road salt may well kill it with corrosion before the fluid needs changing. That could be classified as lifetime couldn't it?

As the owner of a 96 Celica ST, it's honestly been my favorite car I've owned, and I think Toyota missed a big opportunity with this Supra to bring back the Celica name plate. However, if they had, the only things I would have asked for (if possible) would be to cut the weight down to at least sub-3k pounds (imo, 3100 is still a bit too heavy for a Celica), slash that price, and modify the chassis so you don't have all that dead space between the engine and the front of the car. That said, for a new "Celica" I'd also be fine with a 2dr liftback Corolla that had a more sporty suspension setup.
Loved the video! Keep up the great work!

Having worked on a n54 engine, all that space in the engine compartment is really appealing.

Sarah, for the wind buffeting, when u rolled the drivers window down, if u roll the passenger side down about an inch to inch and a half, buffeting goes away like “magic”

Wow, I'm a fan. The sound test was impressive, and the fact that you said it has 255hp is super impressive. That is a girthy single pot caliper too. Not that the i6 doesn't, but perhaps the aftermarket support for the 2.0t will end up making this a actual choice. 100% agree it would be perfect to use the Celica badge and make it its own model...Not the "why didn't you get the straight 6?" Supra.

No, would not make any sense calling it a Celica. The 86 would be the natural successor to the Celica if Toyota wanted to resurrect the Celica because it is a *different* car. The 2.0 Supra is way to close in so many ways to the 3.0 Supra.

Hey I just picked up my Supra and was messing around and found out that you can use the presets, for instances like #1 can take straight to tire pressures or anything in the menu with going through the whole screens. To answer your question at 3:42. So I guess you can say I will be using them. Lol hopefully it don’t put me in the weird category. Love your reviews By The Way!!

I hate buffeting in some of the newer cars.. kills the ability to have the window rolled down without being annoying.. Thanks for the review

If the number buttons are anything like the ones in a BMW, and I'm guessing they are, you can assign shortcuts to menu screens to them. That's pretty useful.

I totally agree with you, make the 4 banger unique, say similar to a 60's MGB GT, retaining the modern lines.
Love the front end of this design. British racing green, white rims similar to your Focus' Braid white rims.
I spend a lot of phantom money I don't have, but I'm having fun.

I like your idea of styling the 4-cylinder version a little different and calling it a Celica. Then they could go completely off the deep end and offer it with a 6-speed manual (or the ZF 8-speed auto) and drop the price to closer to 40K 😁 And to answer your question, I've never used the presets on any radio, even when they were mechanical buttons.

It actually starts at 40k but dealers mark them up sadly but it isn't impossible to find one under 40k.

Seems like an okay idea on paper, but both the Supra and Z4 are built in the same factory in Austria. If they were to deviate too much from the current design, I’m sure that would mess with production. It’s already a low volume car compared to what Toyota/BMW typically sells. Imo, the current “Celica” is the GT86.
There are some “bolt-in” manuals for the B48 (and B58 iirc), just a matter of that getting greenlit.
