"Goodbye" is the worst insult a Minbari can tell you. There is no Minbari word for goodbye as all their parting words contain within them the sense that they will meet again even if it is at the end of time. Their belief is that all souls meet up together at the end in a place where no shadows fall. So a Minbari saying goodbye is telling you "You are a worthless piece of junk without a soul/your soul is not worthy to join with the others at the end of time."
Tolkien’s elves believe much the same, with an an additional focus on the idea that before elves are born and after elves die, God calles elves to sing holy music -- the character of which then influences the character of the universe. Minbari are the extraterrestrial equivalent of Tolkien's elves. If we use Tolkien’s overarching term for the entire Elvish race, the Minbari are a science fiction version of the Quendi. That literally means those who speak with voices, instead of vocalizing in ways like birds' singing or lions' roaring. So likewise, in the cultures of Tolkien’s elves, it would almost certainly be unheard of to presume to tell someone to be quiet, as if there is no capacity to voice words then there is no good religion and no meaningful existence. In "The Lord of the Rings," there is a scene where the eminently respected wizard Gandalf wants to make the elves understand the certainty and seriousness of reports that the supreme enemy Sauron is exerting every effort to find the Ring of Power. Gandalf chooses to communicate this by shocking the elves out of complacency. Gandalf does so by speaking to them in Black Speech, the language spoken by Sauron and his soldiers, which include the orcs who are the sworn enemies of elves. It is so unheard of for anyone to speak this language that the first thing the horrified elves do is block their ears. At no point do the elves tell Gandalf that he must be quiet, nor do they threaten to punish him for using the Black Speech.

It's YEARS since we seen acting of this caliber. The entire cast was believable in each character. G'Kar being my favorite. Andre and the others who have passed away since. Will all he missed
That describes my feelings whenever someone brings up the possibility of a reboot. Nobody could play these characters like the original cast. The characters are inseparable from the actors as far as I'm concerned.
Delenn, "Only one human captain ever survived battle with a Minbari fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives be somewhere else! Mira"s best line in the show for me. Mira thanks for sharing your talent with us. God bless you.
that is what makes this figure and series so amazing, Mira Furlan has play Delenn always sweet and adorable, but, when it was time for, so strong and passionate
I love Delenn. I love how she went from being terrified passenger when they first took on a shadow vessel to being a ruthless kickass when they take on the Drakh. The how fast, be faster line doesn’t make any sense though and is just there for the pure reason of providing another kickass line.
The dialogue could have been written: Lennir “Drakh ship is heading fast towards the jump gate.” Delenn “Be faster” Or Lennir “Drakh ship is heading towards the jump gate.” Delenn “Block it off” Lennir. “It’s going pretty fast” Delenn. “Be faster.”

Yes! Delenn is my absolute favorite Bab5 character and this illustrates perfectly why. She was capable of swerving from deep and wise (including being wise enough to know when to admit she didn't have the answers) to fiery and passionate, to cold fury, to kind and loving. This is what I think of when I think of a strong female character, Sattai Delenn. It broke my heart to hear that Mira had left us, and may she be in the place where no shadows fall until Goran joins her.
To me, that part is kind of the saddest aspect about sleeping in light... set 20 years after the B5 main story, and most of the people in it would not even live to see 20 years after it was filmed. In other words, the only time that credits made me cry.
I've never seen Omega Class Destroyers turn so quickly, I didn't even know they could execute that tight of a turn... Must have been that emergency thrust button marked "armed pissed female escape velocity"...
She's a Holy Terror when she wants to be. Should have included the scene when her mentor Dukhat dies in her arms. Her scream of "No Mercy!" send chills up my back every time!
The gravity-control ring Delenn used in the pilot was discarded by series creator J. Michael Straczynski because he thought that it was too reminiscent of the One Ring from THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy.
