After Tikkie finished all the paperwork for the purchase of her new property, we decided to go house hunting in Khon Kaen, in Isaan, Thailand. Join us as we view four properties, priced from 2.7M Baht to 6M Baht. What can this buy you in the city of Khon Kaen
Jerry and Tikkie another great video guys. Khon Kaen has always piqued my interest for a possible 2nd home. The last one was my favorite at 200 meters and such a great layout. Prices seem very reasonable. Thanks for giving us a great tour! I enjoyed the bonus footage of Kalison at the end.
Thank you Tom, we also liked the last one the most. Too bad it would be so expensive in Bangkok. For KK the price was right
@@jerrybthailand Jerry, what is the market like in the city of Khon Kaen? I realize these properties were 30 minutes from the city center.
We had a limited amount of time during this trip, and didn't find any houses in the city of KK to view that were new. So at this time I can't give you an idea as to the current prices. Next time we visit, we'll try to find a few to look at

You always get more for less outside of Bangkok and mostly all houses have nothing built-in. You probably have to add another THB1M for a build in kitchen, air con, etc
Thanks for the take along...@14:58 area that amount of sand or dirt? On the 2nd floor makes one wonder why? Was the actual cement 2nd floor that uneven that they need that kind of amount to level before tiling? I mean I know in Thailand they can make anything look good finished but seeing that much fill on 2nd floor is scary 😉

What is your personal security over what you buy? Or is it just trust?
When buying a condo a foreigner would have all paperwork showing ownership, with rights to sell. As a foreigner we can't own land outright, so a Thai partner or wife, would need to be the owner

The workmanship is not the best. It looks like they ran out of money and waiting for someone to buy so they can finish each home. Brah - I think you and I are from the same gene pool. If you came up like that you hit the lottery. I don't know about buying a house. It has to go in her name.
Workmanship can be a challenge here. We’re happy renting a condo in middle of Bkk giving max flexibility. If we were ever to build, would go the way of Joe and Gift and custom build. The quality of their home looks top notch
Most of the houses are low quality not worth the money single brick all 10 cm of energy
A lot are of lower quality, and it's easy to see it, however these houses to serve an important purpose for a large part of the Thai populations

3 million baht can buy you a nice house/condo outside of the bigger cities. You will have to do your research when here to see what village/city will suit you best
