    I don't know why, but watching these videos done by this gentleman are very calming and informative. I really commend you on your commentary and calm voice. You help out the cell phone community quite a bit and give them the intellectual tools they need to get the job done. Many kudos to you, good sir!

    Just wanted to say, I recently dropped my Lumia 920 like a butter fingered fool. The screen and display were damaged, so I decided to buy a new one and fit it myself. I wouldn't have been able to do it if it wasn't for this concise and beautifully shot video. Thanks so much for taking the time to shoot these.

    Thanks! I dropped my Nokia Lumia 920 about 3 feet and the digitizer cracked up and it didn't work at all above the 3 bottom buttons. I bought a new digitizer off Amazon and installed with the help of your videos and it works!

  • @anttyj
    @anttyj Před 9 lety +3

    An excellent guide, thank you very much! Just one tip for the wise: when reassembling the phone (after replacing the digitizer, for example) be sure to screw the T4 self-tapping screw, holding the battery clip and red plastic spacer in place, all the way down. I failed to do so and now my brand new digitizer has a nasty crack in the lower left corner. All the functions of the phone seem to be OK, nevertheless.
    Provided that no ribbon cables were broken during disassembly, my guess is that one or several of the cable connectors are not properly in place if the phone does not work after reassembly.

    Thank you very good tutorial, so I just could easily disassembly my Lumia 920 and clean the frontcamera from the dust, which was on the glas. I like Nokia, for not using glue everywhere, so you can repair it yourself and I also like your tutorials you explain everything very well and also give good hints. But one question: is it normal that the time and date is wrong after turn it on again? But expect this tiny fact, everything works again =)

    • @LE55ONS
      @LE55ONS  Před 10 lety

      yes its normal as the battery has been disconnected and it forgets the time

    My front camera screen and the proximity sensor were completely covered with dust. Since I was not sure what kind of adhesive to use, I circumvented those involving the removal & paste steps and I was still able to reach the concerned place. Now the front camera screen is spotless and the proximity sensor is back to its working! Thank you very much!! I made sure (almost) everything that has been mentioned, not working after the tutorial, by other users works. Amazing video!! :)

    You are awesome. This video has now helped me fix my phone 3 times. First when I broke the screen, then the usb port wasn't working properly, then the microphone in the replacement usb flex didn't work so ordered a new one and now all is working as it should. You are my hero, and I am now a little bit addicted to mobile phone surgery.

    It was a fun project to fix my daughters Nokia 920 with the cracked screen. It was a 1+ hour project and my only issue was that when I first started I did not realize that I did not have a T2 driver. I stopped after the battery removal ordered a fabulous $14 tool kit with all the drivers and 3 days later finished. Your instructions are clear and well visualized. I took my time and with the right tools it was easy. One suggestion is to do the project in a white cloth as the parts were all black and I of course dropped a t2 and T4 screw and spent 20 minutes looking for them, thank you!!!

Many thanks to you!

    Amazing video. I just completed a screen/digitizer replacement successfully using this guide. Not simple, but the guide really does cover it all. I even found my unit was missing the same screw on the right side. Hardest part was finding a T2 torx driver (Amazon). Bought the replacement screen assy. at etrade for ~$145 including shipping. Arrived in 3 days. Saved my daughter's phone she broke after only 10 days by putting it in her back pocket and sitting down.

    unfortunately very early in the process i pretty much destroyed the USB/mic ribbon. at first i was okay with it, due to being able to wirelessly charge, and have everything on cloud services, but then i realized i couldn't talk on the phone/capture sound. i can deal with that until my new ribbon ships in though.
    thanks so much for the video. helped a ton

    For some reason my camera won't focus properly anymore, seems like it's in "close-up" mode (even when it's not) and goes blurry whenever I press the shutter button. Also I noticed that around 19 minutes when you put down the ear speaker, a T2 torx screw hides up in there, leaving you missing one screw when putting the phone back together.

    Great guide. Only issue I had was replacement glass (genuine) button ribbon cable was not long enough, I had to peel off about 2mm off the glass to get it far enough through the assembly to plug in. Screen tape easy to get, 1mm tape runs nicely down the sides of the glass. Also needs a warning if using heat to remove glass from LCD to make sure you remove the rubber seal around front camera. I forgot and melted it a bit with the heat gun but it still fits in and works.

    A very well organized and helpful video I'll recommend you or your videos to anyone having problems repairing Disassembling, Assembling their phone.
    Thank you so much for a wonderful video. Do you have any video on the Nokia Lumia 1520?

    Impresionante el nivel de Ingenieria para desarrollar y ensamblar un dispositivo como este.
